Got the 450ss in May as my first bike. No complaints. I've put 3k miles on it. Plenty of power for size (and price). I topped it at 124mph. Nothing but compliments on the looks. It got stolen and I tracked and recovered it in 30 mins with the app the bike comes with. My opinion should come with a grain of salt because I'm new, but I feel like it was a great first bike option. I, of course, want a 1000cc to eventually be a proper squid; but I absolutely have no regrets. I'm gonna hang on to it and, pass it to my kid for his first bike. For sure would recommend.

Most major brand won't give you enough features and quality cause they know no matter what they do people already trust them. For China brand it's a different story. They're trying so hard on improving and giving us as much as they can give with lower price just to prove that they can do it too and this is something worth to be appreciate.

There is always the point that the Ninja is a known quantity - no unpleasant surprises down the road when it comes to parts and service availability, or long term durability. But it also sounds like CFMoto deserves credit for bringing a really good motorcycle to the North American market.

So I'm no engineer or bike aficionado. I'm not even going to bug around with checking the comments to see if somebody is already commented. The CF Moto seems like a awesome steal and my assumption of the 50 extra CC's could simply be to keep the bike competitive with the Kawasaki because of the weight. I think that the CF Moto is a little bit more budget focused and that's where the weight is coming from. Kawasaki has had years and money to dedicate to r&d for lighter frames and don't need higher CC motors. With all that being said, I still would pick the CFMoto just for the intrigue and to support the new guys and keep things competitive in the motorcycle market. Competition drives innovation

I went for the CF Moto! Although for months I was really saving to get a Ninja. But sitting on the two bikes over several weeks is what did it for me. Being a female rider leaning forward I had more space on the CF moto than the ninja SURPRISINGLY. I am not sure why but my hips and chest felt really weird when riding the ninja and on the CF I had more space to adjust and sit properly. I agree that the ninja is def an EPIC bike (almost got one) but I have to trust my body and what feels best for it :) Thank you for this video!

I would also buy the 450ss over the Ninja. I have owned ninja 250's and now have a CFMOTO 300nk and have over 3k miles on it. I have to say CF is gunning for what Kawasaki has in the low to mid bike segment, and is winning in my opinion. I will be getting a 700clx as my next bike I like mine so much. Also, if the Ninja was equipped identically to the 450ss, it would be 1500-2000 dollars more.

What's your inseam? I've been spilt on these two (hoping to grab something by fall 2024) and unsure. Ninja might be the better pick for me due to the lower weight and more relaxed position, yet the 450ss having more features and loving the look of the blue variant more is very tempting. Good evening, I am a 74 year novelist. I am currently writing a spy mystery novel based on Motocross and sports bikes. I have never ridden a bike before but after doing the research on the sport I would loved to have started riding motocross as a young man. I was a college athlete in the 1960s and 70s and played some professionally for a few years. My reflexes were always super fast and still, to this day remain fast. My eyesight is good, though I wear bifocal glasses and i have great peripheral vision. Most people think I look at least 10 - 15 years younger than I am. I walk a little slower than i did in my youth. I am in great shape according to my physician. That is the back ground to my question of you. I plan to take the MSF course this coming spring with the hope that I can actually buy and ride a motorcycle. I have come down to the choice of either the Ninja 400 or the Ninja 650. However watching this video has added the CF Moto 450SS to the mix. My desire is to drive the local roads here New Hampshire . I don’t have to commute anywhere as other than writing I am retired. I will just be doing fun rides and I do not plan on riding much on the interstates…but would like to be safe on them should I need to use one. I am 6 foot tall and weigh 200 lbs even. What are your thoughts and suggestions for me? I am leaning to the 400 as I do not feel i will need the extra power of the 650 and your video indicates to me that the 400 and CF 450 are pretty similar other than weight. And for an old guy like me…weight might be a factor. At my age I want the bike that will fit me well. Since this will most likely be the one and only bike I will be purchasing your suggestions is very much appreciated. Thanks for your thoughts. Sincerely, Tom

I have owned all three of the major brands. 2018 ninja 400, 2020 R3 X2, cfmoto 450ss. The 450 is the best BY FAR. It’s really not even close. I’d actually choose the R3 with a throttle tube mod over the ninja 400 as well. The seating position is very awkward on the ninja, the rear sets sit weird, and it constantly wants to throw your nuts against the tank. (Owners will know what I mean). I have no interest in cfmoto and owned multiple 600cc sportbikes as well. This little guy is a BEAST!

I personally have vowed to never get a bike over 100hp (unless I have no other choices) because more power is unusable and wasted potential. I don't ride track, and the Autobahn is boring af. I want an i4 sportsbike, and there are only two options atm.

the ninja was like buying a 2023 model keypad phone with ordinary lcd display to cut cost and still brag about it and trying hard to say good things out of what bad things we see to sugar coat an intentionally made to cut cost bike for a high price using kawasaki brand. It's not the brand, it is about what effort they put in that bike.

"whjat is the extra 50cc for?" okay, you asked multiple times so i'll tell ya.. the extra 50cc is so the bikes tune can be toned down, and you get extra reliability for little extra price ... ie: no need for expensive strengthened internal engine parts with a smaller engine that has basically the same power and torque.. the 400 gets the same power, at the cost of a more expensive production process.

I’m split between these bikes but I am leaning toward the ninja just because it’s a tried and tested platform. My plan is to get my first bike when I get out of college so maybe by then the cfmoto will be a more established bike. Also, the new ninja 500 (that’s technically a 450) is coming out and since it’s based on the 400’s chassis I hope it will be the perfect in between for me. I just hope and pray it’s not like the cbr500r

I want some of the 400 on mountain roads, I know my 450ss will pull it corner to corner, then the ergonomics, great brakes, stiff suspension will make it superior, stock to stock of course. Gearing ratios on the CF corner to corner are perfect, you think in the lower gears that the CF isn't that fast but banging gears 3-5, it mph's really well, that means fast btw... Old expert roadracer here, no better than anyone else but do know enough to be dangerous. Gonna put some super stickies on and take it to Deals soon, downhill sections, watch out:)

Im after your opinions guys. So I have a 300SR and had it for the past 5000kms with no problems whatsoever, which is why im looking at getting the 450SR as my next bike. With the 300SR it is more hunkered over with that sporty positioning. I have tried the Ninja 400 which is more forward and upright. Now looking at this video it feels like the 450SR also has that sporty positioning. All factors aside what will determine which bike I get is how I feel when riding it. Short distance rides, either bike would do but for long distance riding, would the 450SR be more painful on your neck and back than the 400? I am a shorter bloke 5'6 so I do feel the sporty positioning more than you tall guys out there.

Now we need a video where you guys talk about just regular bikes. I'm not the kind of guy that wants to go 200+ km/h on the road. But at the same time, im not looking for a budget 250 bike that cannot overtake for its sake. You keep mentioning 300-500 range as if it is something only for beginners. What if I just want to spend my entire life doing only this much power. it depends from person to person. But we need a battle of the bikes that can be used for lifetime. How long can a ninja 400 stay in my garage? will it work on city busy roads, day to day commutes? Can it stay in my garage till my kids grow up? etc... Can you please post more bike content about people that want to buy them just for commuting and getting across the city in a safe manner? I say this also as a 23 year old, in my country I am limited with a 125cc. Eventhough my bike gets me to my destination, when it comes to overtaking or going highway speeds, it does nothing. So, I want to focus my search on the more reliable, lasting, power bikes. I get that chance next year when I hit 24 wooo
