First Ride Videos - Bikes that I've never ridden before Process 1. Get access to a motorcycle 2. Look up the base specs(BHP, Torque, Weight and MSRP) 3. Film 1 ride on the bike and be honest about how I feel while riding it

I've been riding the z400 for almost 2 years, it does everything I ask of it. I like to cruise 65-75mph occasionally I hit 88 or so, it serves me well

I have a soft spot for low displacement bikes. So easy to ride on the daily and yet fun to push hard. The Z400 is such a good bike! Thanks for Commenting and Enjoy the Ride Always!

I have ridden the Z400 as my 2nd bike (1st was Z125) for 2+ yrs. I am 130 lbs 5' 2" and have a comfortable reach. I can ride up to the power band to get to 60 mph in 3rd if needed. My BF is ~200lbs. This bike can easily maneuver with him driving and me riding pillion. Highway with 2 up not recommended, but doable. I still want to test ride the CFMoto450NK, I heard the throttle has more torque in lower rpms vs the 7-8k max torque for the Z400. Top speed is 120mph for a person sub 180lbs.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the z400. I can tell you I highly recommend trying the cfmoto 450nk. I enjoyed it a great deal. I personally purchased the 450ss as a addon to my stable of bikes. If you do get a chance to try one I would love to hear your thoughts on that in the future. Stay safe and thanks again

Sold my Grom to step up to a higher CC bike. I think this is it.

Can't really go wrong with the Z400! It's a lot of fun to ride. I'm sure you will enjoy it if you go with it. I will say I have never ridden a Grom and am always looking for one to film lol. I just sold my Ninja 1000 today and bought a Daytona 675. You're going up and I'm going down lol. Stay safe and let me know if you go with the Z400 or something else.

My first and only bike was a KZ 400 in the late 70s. Had it 4 years. Rode it year round in Michigan for 2 years. Below 0 temps and up to 6" snow. Never had one problem with it. Sold it after having to lay it down twice in a month from cars pulling out in front of me. Totally loved it and hated selling. Even my friends with much bigger bikes were impressed with it.

That KZ400 would be a really fun bike to ride. 35bhp and 400lbs would have made that a great commuter bike then and now. Sorry you had people pulling in front of you like that. Sadly, it's an issue we all face from time to time. Thank you for sharing, and stay safe always.

@@MotorcycleDemoRiders 35 hp? Seemed like a lot more. Had it up to 95 a few times. Did long cruises and it'd do 75 all day. Used to smoke the bigger bikes going from stop light to stop light. It was great around town but handled the highway too. Sounds like the new ones are even better!

Currently deciding between this and a 390 Duke. Think Ill go with the Z400 as I've heard its more reliable since its Japanese.
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders Жыл бұрын
I have ridden both, and they both are great choices. The 390 is more reliable now than in the past, but the z400 is a bulletproof of a bike, as you can ask for. Thanks for sharing! Stay safe and enjoy the ride

Thank you for the comment. This was one of our first videos, and the quality then vs. now is night and day to us. That said, I think the z400 is a great choice, and I hope you enjoy it. Be safe and again, thank you!

Im trying to get my motorcycle license and I saw this in store. Im thinking this would be a great starter bike. Im 5"2 and its hard to find a bike for my height. I just gotta figure out the money.

I am glad to hear you are working on your motorcycle journey. My wife is also 5'2", and it is difficult for her also to get comfortable on most bikes. She likes the z400 but could touch the ground on one side. It's a balance thing, and to be honest, once you get used to that part, you will get more comfortable. The z400 is a really good bike to start on. Decent power but still manageable. Work on it at your pace and enjoy the journey, and welcome to two wheels! Keep us informed as to how you're doing! Stay safe always

@@MotorcycleDemoRiders I've always had to put it off either because of money or being homeless or losing my family members to cancer, etc. So it's been a lot. I'm just about done with my college degree, I want to finally do what I want to do. If I can't get it next year, it will be soon. I have to go to the academy so I need to save. But, yes finding a bike my height is hard. Thank you and I will be safe. I hope other drivers will be. I live in a state where helmets aren't required and I honestly HATE that. I will be wearing a helmet.

I got a question if you still look at these lol. Im wanting to get into riding do you buy a bike first and practice or go to get your bike license before that
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders Жыл бұрын
It depends, I bought a cheap Ninja 250 many years ago when I was learning to ride before I got my license. I would ride around my block over and over again at slow speeds to get used to the bike and how it felt to ride. That said it was a different time then and I lived in a very small town, so it wasn't a big deal. Now it's different but I still bought a small bike for my kids to learn and did the same thing as I did. Depends on the community I suppose. By the book would be take an MSF training course that provides a bike for you to learn on. That isn't always easy to do if the courses are far away or if they are booked as spots could be limited. I love riding and hope you do get into it! I am happy to answer any question you have or if I don't have the answer, I will work to find it for you.

"WAUKESHA" Nice! That's my county!
@MotorcycleDemoRiders

Its a really nice area! This was the first time I had been there but have since spent alot of time at triumph Waukesha filming for the channel. I need to get some time to just come up and just ride for myself and not for the channel lol but I love showing bikes to people so much that I'm addicted to creating content. I hear that you have some really good roads to ride. Do you have any suggestions?
@Jack-lp4jd

@@MotorcycleDemoRiders I actually just took my MSF course a couple weeks ago and stumbled upon your channel in reviewing the Z400 as my first bike, so while I have driven all around here, I couldnt exactly tell you what counts as a nice road for riding yet, unfortunately. But what I can tell you is if you go west to the next county over, Jefferson county, you'll be dealing with a lot less cars and overall less urbanization. So thats probably is a nicer place to ride. Just stay away from Milwaukee County 🤣. Ignoring crime the drivers there are aggressive and will commonly run stop signs.
@MotorcycleDemoRiders

Oh well congrats on doing the MSF! Welcome to 2 Wheels! I wish I had the camera equipment now when I did the Z400. But as is known very few peoples first few videos are good and I'm no exception lol. For me a beautiful country road with some nice curves are great riding. As you get out on the roads stay safe and I'm thinking about next year doing a demo event with Triumph in Waukesha so perhaps you can be there and test out some bikes with me that way I can get other riders experiences on the channel.

That bike wasn't designed for men, it was designed for weman 5' tall max 145lb body weight, with the designed rider they can not full throttle without feeling the launch power, 1/4 throttle 5th gear upwards of 100mph. But if you put a full grown man on this bike his full throttle in 6th will give you a very streesful unpleasent 90mph.

How do you know it’s designed for women?
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders Жыл бұрын
I respect your thoughts and opinions however I would have to disagree. I don't think any bike is designed for a man or a woman. Would be way to limiting on the marketability in my opinion. The Z400 is a great started bike for anyone looking to get into riding. I think the cfmoto 450nk is better but thats just how i feel about it.

@@proveyourcrown you can ride it as a man but not to the power of the intended, i know by the Japaneese that do not reveal what should be understood. They said never correct a foolish man. So if they told me it means im not a foolish man.
@natvega1
@natvega1 Жыл бұрын
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders well maybe you misunderstood, a 300lb man on an r1 can be overtaken by a 130lb. man on an r6 because of rider weight, only experienced riders know the limit of their body weight, 10lbs difference in rider weight can affect your topspeed which makes these experienced riders very intellegent to the power of your BMI, it's a foundation of secrets to avoid bone density to achieve certain speeds over 180mph.
