2023 KTM 350 SX-F First Oil Change after Break-In Period

The KTM 350 SX-F Break-In Period: During the first operating hour, the maximum engine speed is 7,000 rpm. After 1 operating hour, change the engine oil, oil filter and clean the oil screen.

Terrific video! I love how KTM takes extra steps to keep you on the right track (torque specs ex.) and "talk to you" right on the bike! I just finished breaking in my new 2023 KTM 350 SXF and 2023 Husky FC 350 and followed your instructions. I was always unsure how many hours after break-in before changing the oil on a brand new bike. 1 hour sounds solid and gets all the initial break in 'junk' out. And gives you a chance to make sure nothing bad is going on. I like to lay the bike over when putting the new oil filter in and fill up the compartment about halfway. Thanks again!

@@motorbros Tough call! I am in love with each of them, even the 450-and I usually don't like four fiddys. But the 2023 KTM 450 SXF is so much fun to ride, and only 1.8 lbs more than the 350. Go figure. Conflicted about which beauty gets my FULL attention. 😎 I will say the Husky 350 is so plush. Rides like a Rolls. Super fun to ride. But missing the power I want. And the 2023 KTM 350 has so much more power than the 2022, which I have also. So looks like I am committing to the KTM 350! You can if you want but if it’s just the first hour oil change you can re use the washer

Good question. Seems a bit excessive for 1 hour. Might be good to get a second opinion.

You don't drain the oil out of the lower drain hole? Especially on the first couple oil changes?

According to what we were told, that is used for rebuilds and not necessary for oil changes.

@@motorbros - did you see where our manual says 15 hours between oil changes? My 2020 called for every 10 hours.
