The Mazda CX-60 gets so much right... that it should probably be ILLEGAL! Seriously, it CHANGES EVERYTHING.
Mazda have given us an inline 6 cylinder petrol, diesel and PHEV powertrain. They've made their interior to the level of German Luxury. But, you will be paying some serious dollars for a family SUV. So should you buy the 2023 Mazda CX-60? We test EVERY drivetrain, take an in-depth look at the interior, exterior and how it drives, and will let you know our thoughts. Let's review the all-new Mazda CX-60!

I was hoping you guys would do this car! I am well and true a Mazda fan boy having them for over the past 20 years, mainly Mazda 3 and CX-5. I went to a launch of this and it is truely an amazing car. I just find it’s oddly positioned in the Mazda line up. You would go CX-5 or soon to be CX-90. Although not mentioned from Mazda Australia, I would imagine CX5 would be ending its life in near future. Love your work boys! 👍 P.S the white finishes around the cabin- I can see my daughters CC chip fingers putting cheesey marks everywhere 🤣🤣

Can't say I've test driven one yet (very soon) however looking at pricing and spec sheets I would have to agree with you guys in saying my powertrain pick would be the diesel. In the line-up I would say the pick is the GT with vision package, 98% of the features of the azami for several thousand less. Love the fact that mazda has seamlessly integrated a large screen without it taking over the dashboard like many manufacturers are doing.

I test drove both 3.3t petrol and 2.5 phev on urban roads last weekend. Exterior look is actually fantastic and Mazda red is shining out easily. The car is elegant and well-proportioned when you see it in person. Interior atmosphere is phenomenal. Material quality is definitely on par with most German luxury brands. Personally not a big fan of large screens as you mainly focus on road being the driver. Compared to cx5,. it’s also roomer inside and I sit comrtortably at the back (1.8m). The new (for Mazda) Para Sun roof is a must. In terms of driving, 3.3t petrol is puncher especially when it goes above 50km+ and its 6 cyclinders sounds more refined. 2.5 phev is ideal for low speed cruising at city as it seems handle lower speed better with ev assist. The ev experience is similar to toyota hybrid but then it’s a lot more powerful. When curising around town, you can’t say it’s an agile car given its weight but but body roll is well-controlled and steering is accurate. The only downside to me is the gear shifting - it’s quite vauge at lower speed and not as direct as it’s 6-speed auto ( yet not as hesitated as VW dsg nor Benz 7-speeds so it’s still doing fine). Also CX-60 suspension is on firmer side but then it's is not unacceptable when going through bumps. I also watched many US CX-90 reviews recently and it seems the above 2 issues are not as visible as CX-60 - am wondering if Mazda did some tweaks already. Overall it’s not prefect with some shortcomings but the 6 cyclinders engine setup defintely shines. For people who consider Lexus or Mercedes they should test drive and test it out. 3.3t GT range is about 73k drive away which is the bestbuy in its ranges.

@@michaelanthony5441 I think the CX70 is based on a wide body platform (for the American markets) like the CX90 but smaller in length while the CX60 is based upon a narrow body platform similar to the CX80. Markets usually will get the CX70/CX90 (like America) or the CX60 and CX80 (like Asia/Europe). Australia is unique in that it gets the CX60/CX80 but also the CX90 probably because Mazda sells a lot here.

Firmer than my previous XC60, but not as firm as my BMW X3 M40i. Mazda tends towards a sportier ride than others such as Lexus, but having driven the NX450H+, the Mazda is far better imho. these guys have never been to japan and it shows as well as knowing very little about japanese culture. if you look at a lot of the things that japanese people make, like their knives (saws, etc.) for example, which are lauded in the chef & tool-making world (long history of samurai sword making, etc.) and their approaches to making things, they take their time and it's of a very high quality. i don't understand why everything has to be compared with germany because they are not the only culture synonymous with producing quality.
