What’s up guys! Here’s the review of my 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club! It has Snowflake White paint, a limited slip differential, and 6 fantastic speeds. That formula equals a pretty darn good time!
If you like my style please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing!

What a refreshing review! Unlike many on KZbin, it's clear that you've actually driven the car for a while. "Sissy launch" aside, as you note, the car's not really about 0 -> 60. Although common wisdom says that the motor would be solid past the limiter - the ND gearbox variants have a bit of a checkered past reliability wise. There's no great reason to abuse it for fractions of a second. Also, I don't think that it has changed for 2023, but no Miata has adaptive cruise control. In other words, there is no radar which will adjust speed to maintain distance. Keep it up!

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it! You’re right about there being no changes for 2023, aside of the Zircon color option becoming an option. And good catch on the adaptive cruise, I meant to correct that and forgot. It has “smart city braking” I believe that’s what it’s called. But not adaptive cruise unfortunately. 🙂

Excellent, very comprehensive yet concise ND review of at least 30 or so I've watched. Red RF GT with AT on order (yeah I know, but I can't deal with another MT no matter how good).

Thank you, I appreciate you watching! 🙂 that sounds exactly like the one I reviewed a couple weeks ago. I didn’t feel like it was my best review as it was a last minute thing, but very fun car to also experience. The automatic is surprisingly good and the RF lines are sweet. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Good luck with your Miata. I was lucky to get low mileage (3K) 2022 GT RF manual last year as my weekend toy. Was thinking of new Z (waiting list), BRZ ( local dealer only have last gen cars for test drive). Can't wait for warmer weather to get my Miata back on the road. Most fun car I ever owned n car still gets alot attention where I live.

Glad you’re enjoying! On a sunny day there is simply no better driving experience to be had. Did you know there’s a 12 V charger port in the passenger footwell? Also, a fairly cheap and useful mod is a center console shelf that increases its usefulness - perfect place to store your sunglasses. 😎

Just bought one Friday after also seeing your other two videos on this car 👍 I am thoroughly enjoying the car. I was thinking about getting a GR86 originally but with the mark ups and after sitting in one, I wasn't impressed. I had a smile right away after sitting in the MX5 and after the test drive I was sold. The drop top also gives the car a different feel when you want it which is great because I mainly used a motorcycle and it gives me a similar feeling. It's not exactly the same but it's close in its own way.

Great review. I’ve seen them all and this is outstanding. Do the headrest speakers play audio from music or just phone calls? I’ve heard reviews that are contradicting. Also curious how tall you are, as I’m 6’1” and unsure if that will be a pain.

Thanks for saying that! 🙂 I can only speak to my experience and in my car they play music. The surround sound is integrated surprisingly well and I could imagine some people not recognizing that sound also comes from behind their head, maybe? I thought they would be easier to differentiate the location of sound and I hardly can. I’m 5’ 11” and very comfortable in it. I hope it would be for you as well. Go drive one!!! 🙂😛

I had a 2020 MX-5 Club, 6-speed with the Brenbo/BBS/Recaro package and really enjoyed it. Sold it in 2022 to try out something new and picked up a 2022 Camaro 2SS with the 1LE package (also in manual). The car is extremely capable, and a blast in the right conditions, but I'm finding that I really need to push it to get the most out of it because the limits are so high. I've been thinking about going back to an MX-5, or even one of the new GR86 cars (owned a 2018 BRZ which was a blast as well) for something that's more fun without having to push the car so much. Right now, the MX-5 is winning out due to it being a more playful car (my wife and I have 3 other cars, so this isn't a daily), as well as the ongoing problems I've been reading about the new engine in the BRZ/GR86 twins. Since it's getting to the second half of the year, if I ordered one now it would probably arrive close to when it would be put away for the winter, so I'm thinking about ordering next January or February so I could hopefully take delivery right as the nice weather gets here.

It’s cool that you’ve gotten to own and experience such a capable Camaro to decide that you might in fact want to revisit the MX-5. I drove a 22 Camaro last week, and although I love them (I’ve driven other ones and ZL1 before) I personally like the Miata the best. I ordered mine mid Jan and it arrived first week of March. I was surprised at how quickly Mazda had it build. Would you order the B/BBS/R package again?

Wow we are identical in a reverse! I bought my 20 SS 1LE, tracked it and sold it in 22 to get a Club BBR Mx 5. I loved 1LE’s track capability but you have to push that car to enjoy it..If I lived somewhere like in Germany where you are allowed to speed, I would keep 1LE no contest. MX5 you are always enjoying on streets slow or fast, and I don’t even crave going to tracks anymore, that much fun!
@saviordream
@saviordream Жыл бұрын
@@trackeagle6013 that's what I'm thinking. If I lived in an area that could really take advantage of the 1LE's capabilities, I wouldn't think twice about keeping it. But when I had the MX-5 (or the BRZ I had previously) they were fun at really any speed. I could fully enjoy them just cruising around, whereas the 1LE is bored unless I'm really pushing it, at which point it becomes alive.

I own a 21 club and a 22 gr86. I view the oiling issues and the transmission issues in the Toyota and Mazda respectively in the same light. It’s a lot of anxiety on the forums but honestly either you beat the hell out of the car to break it or it breaks and you leverage the warranty. Obviously neither really stopped me. If I could only have one, I’d favor the gr86 but both are awesome!

If you want fast 0 to 60 times, you need to drop the clutch around 3200rpm. 1st gear can actually hit 7800rpm before fuel cut off, which makes a big difference because max power comes in at around 7000rpm so if you're shifting at around 7200rpm like in the video, you're missing out on another 500rpm worth of power. If you do it right, the tires will screech when you shift into 2nd. I'm 170lb and I'm able to get verified 0 to 60mph in 6.1s as my fastest ever. Granted, I do live in California, so not much altitude.

I appreciate your insight and you sharing your best time! 6.1 is fantastic. I absolutely recognize that I did a very sissy launch in this video, haha. I’ve never been one to dump the clutch in any car other than a 2013 Tacoma I use to have. I am excited to be a bit more aggressive and dial it in on GPS in the coming months, but I’m still in the babying phase. 😉😀 Last year when I still had my Trans Am I got my launches dialed into where they could be within 1/100 of a second between runs after a few warm ups. That was an incredibly consistent car, and I am excited to see how consistent this can be with practice!
