Great use of space! Your normal camera angles definitely make the gym space look bigger than it is. I think you have one of the best uses of wall storage. I’m renting so I haven’t wanted to mount things permanently to my walls. Thankfully there was an existing pegboard where I could put a lot of my cable attachments and other things that hang well.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
Peg boards are awesome for that kind of stuff for sure. I had peg board for years before I finally did the cleat system. Do you think that people would be interested in a flat-pack style French cleat system like I have for sale?

@@TheKurtlocker absolutely! I’m planning to build a new house in the next couple of years, and I’d love to do at leas one French cleat wall. I showed it to me wife, and they want to put one in the basement to rapidly reinvent a wall!

@@TheKurtlocker Helpped my friends do a build out on one side of their personal training studio. About 80 percent of the uprights came with a significant amount of rust on the inside of the tubes, like you can see orange when you stand a few feet back from the uprights. When emailed they said don't worry it doesn't affect the strength it's just surface rust. This is just one example, honestly so many things that went wrong with them that even though they have a few items I might liked to have I've decided never to buy anything ever again from them.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
@runiniscrazy that sounds frustrating as hell and inconsistent with the gyms I’ve helped design and assemble
@runiniscrazy Жыл бұрын
@@TheKurtlocker It was very frustrating. I'm guessing the gym I was helping wasn't big enough to get great service. The weird part is the girls that own the gym talked with Salesman, Management, accounting, and someone I believe he said in engineering the the only person that ever could be bothered to apologize was the lady in accounting. Quick summary: Missed their delivery date by months and delayed opening the gym. Didn't appologize, just 2 days before they were supposed to be there offered expedited delivery and we could then assemble ourselves then charged us more for shipping then missed the new shipping date by another day. Guy in management said well he shouldn't have sold you assembly in your area anyways. Design did not fit the space for the measurements we provided Rusted uprights. Splatter not cleaned off before painting (not usually a big deal but considering one of the delays was supposed to be because the paint shop didn't get paint correct this was annoying). Bad powder coat on the low row(faraday effect when powder coating but could have been done better) Randomly got charged and recieved 2 extra crossmembers that accept the pulley assemblies. Some other small design issues that I would have preferred be done differently but not really something they did "wrong". I felt personally insulted because I was responsible for listing out equipment and giving them a list of companies to contact and I had recommending stray dog so not only did they mess up and not really apologize they made me look like a fool so I took it rather personally.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
@runiniscrazy that is wild. I know that most of the crossmembers come with the cutouts to accept the pulleys, but being billed for extra parts is unsat. That entire situation actually seems completely unsat and I would probably feel the same way to did if that was my experience.

Great garage. I'm also a big fan of MBPC. Have you ever used his 2 inch axle? I have EliteFTS's El Gordo Fat Bar and it is wonderful. However, I'd like an axle without knurling and I can't decide between Mike Bartos' and Ironminds. Chicagoland suburbs so humidity is also a concern as both are bare steel. Though, that I may just have to get over it if I want a premium axle.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
Go with the bartos. I’ve used both, the bartos is better

Beautiful set up. How are you utilizing the plate spacers with the bartos power center? Is this specifically for bars that aren’t long enough? i.e a power bar in opposed to deadlift? Thanks.
@TheKurtlocker Жыл бұрын
Exactly. For bars like the FuBar and some power bars where the are too close to the uprights on the PR Platform, it is nice to have some wiggle room.

I actually tried building my gym without Rogue equipment. Only bought where it made sense - the Westside Reverse hyper since nobody makes a good portable RH; the Glute Floor since I got it at a pretty big discount on FB Marketplace; and their LB-3.

It's been awhile since I've checked out your channel, didn't you have a lot of rogue things in your home gym? Like rogue jammer arms and stuff. What made ya switch out your rogue stuff?
