i had 2014 sprinter biggest one they make with 2.1 diesel my first problem with that van was at 198,000 miles before that i had ZERO problems with that van , i do HVAC and i drive 50/50 city and highway and 9,000 lbs. everyday weight . I love sprinters

Never going back to the MB Sprinter Van. I had nothing but electrical problems. Oh, don’t get started with winter issues. I almost forgot the amount Schedule A & B cost. If you are planning to own one, be sure to save a lot of money for the services.

4 cylinder with that massive cargo area? Ouch!! I love Mercedes but man, by experience and all mechanics always get the same heads up from them to not get those engines. Even though it could be just perfect but I feel that something doesn’t line up here.

I still can’t believe the geniuses did away with the glove box. The glove box is very important. There’s literally nowhere to stick anything to hide it like a phone or other items so again, I hate to say it, but the dashboard looks like it’s from easy go looks just like the cupholders were added on just like another golf cart. And doing away with the glove box was a big no-no.

I bought the exact same one, its a 2023 and I already been to the dealer 5 times. The first time the check engine turned on was at 600 miles and then kept turning on, just got it back from dealer last week. Stay away from it, and if you buy it you will need extended warranty! Trust me! I really hope mine goes back to the dealer to lemon law it! Super expensive and unreliable! I Sold my 2005 Toyota truck that’s cost me $10k had it for 8 years not one problem, supposedly the sprinter was going to replace it and God was I wrong, if I could I would go back to my Toyota truck!

Since the move to US manufacturing of these, the quality has gone down the toilet. I have a 2014 which has never let me down, but has had around $10,000 in emissions work mostly covered by the AEM recall and settlement. Because of its size, the thing wear through brakes quickly. Stock suspension and brakes are completely under size for their intended use. That said, they fill a niche that Transit and Promaster don’t.

Right there with you, my 1999 tacoma runs and needs a repair every once in a while but when you’re going to Mercedes for a repair and the head mechanic says we’ll let you know if it’s gonna be over $5,000. Not happy… Noted above about my fuel pump issue and estimate for repair… more than the cost of the Toyota. 😑 I would never suggest to anyone to ever get involved with a sprinter. Sucks because I knew ahead of time but couldn’t find a transit so bit the bullet but ended up shot in the ass. F150 drives nice past 82 mph. 😉

@@2008guelo they said it was and adjustment having to do with the air pressure or something like that. They didn’t replace any parts just adjusted it. I got it back 4 weeks ago, it has not turn on the check engine again, either way stay away from them.

Super torquey! While driving 25mph out of the dealer parking lot in a completely unloaded van for a 5 minute drive. Good grief. 🤦. How about something resembling a real world test. Put a real world load in it as it was intended- 2,000+ pounds and drive it in steep hilly terrain. Reviews like this are worthless if they don’t at least try to mimic real world conditions.

Rented one to carry 6 passengers and 10 full size luggages. Performed well. Good acceleration up to 60, then the high roof definitely slows it down as well as only 170 hp. But will cruise at 85 all day (until you get some strong crosswinds)

I wonder if that is still using the trusty ‘ol Bosch cp4 diesel fuel pump? Mine failed at 103k a 1000 miles from home on a road trip. The repair estimate being over 16k. I can not promote this brand. So much maintenance and have fun with the engine lights. Garbage…

2016. No joke. They told me it happens more than you think. They said as the fuel pump disintegrates it puts metal through the fuel delivery system and that there isn’t anyway to flush it out so they have to replace the pump, injectors, rails, lines, everything fuel delivery related but they can flush the tank. $16,200 was the estimate. Mine was the 2.1. It’s 19k for the 3.0 v6. They told me I picked up water in the fuel somewhere and found water and metal in the fuel rail. Supposedly vehicle insurance has covered it for some previous clients but Flo had no interest in my situation and denied denied denied. (Now with State Farm saving $100 month, paid flo for over 15 yrs and had the worst adjusters) proof was supplied by garage but ins said it’s just the usa’s diesel. They tried to star the lawsuits current against Bosch for the fuel pump(it’s used in Rams to but they’re replacing theirs, it’s in fords and chevys. Mercedes took no responsibility and said they’re not in the lawsuit which should’ve swayed insurance but nada. Let me just say it hurt after putting about $7k in conversion and 2 months the previous winter to have such a failure 1000miles from home is not convenient. Very discouraged that the repair would be flawless and without faults for that 1000 mile trip home. I drive an f150 now.

Too bad they will discontinue diesel engine and go all electrica which is stupid. I think 2025 will be the last year to order, as a carpet installer electric does not work for me

I am keeping an eye out on the electric ------ It is reported to have a range of 300 miles (500ish km) on a single charge. I wouldn't be a first adopter but if I hear good things and I might investigate further. These figures are based on the 170" high roof sprinter and that would the be the van a carpet installer would want. Don't get me wrong ---- I LOVE my 2008 Sprinter but my maintenence costs are high and I like the idea of having the Mercedes ride quality with far less mechanical components.

I own a 2012 and a2019. 2012 is a diesel and it is a piece of trash. I have spent norht of $50000 on repairs since i bought it new. Just spent $16000 two months ago on the warranty scam they are running now. 2019 has 40 thousand miles on it and is starting to have problems. Cant wait to get rid of both.

Drops diesel v6, adds turbo 4 cyl as an only power train option for any model without even an option for a gas v6 I don’t know who is going to purchase one of these but it will definitely be those who don’t understand engine longevity Ruined it ! What a horrible contraption this has become I was literally going to buy one of these this year ! but now it’s not even an option. You literally couldn’t freely give me this van taxes paid included with a turbo 4. This thing now belongs to the birds as far as I’m concerned.

@@jadesluv The v6 diesel om642 regularly hit 800k to 1 million km on sprinters, all with proper maintenance and that's it. The frame and van itself was falling apart around the engine and the driveshaft, that's how good they were if driven correctly and taken care of. These 4 cyl will struggle when carrying heavier loads and it will be felt on longevity, let alone the gas engines with their baby torque being forced to pull loads on a commercial level. We're not talking taxies here that a 2.2l handles just fine, we're talking vans.

Test drive it first before butcher it bro. This new 2.0 diesel is much more powerful than previous v6. It is much more powerful than gas v6 junk that most of USA people are driving in their cars. Plus to that 4 cylinder is much more balanced engine than a v6, maintanance coast is much lover plus easier access for maintenance if you like to do it yourself. Also in Europe the same engine on E class produces between 260-300hp, I do not remember # for sure. What it means that this engine has huge power potential, but was downgraded for reliability. My advise try it first, because this is most likely what I will buy by the end of this year 😊

You guys have no idea what this 2.0 is capable of doing. The fact that us customer have iron curtain to Europe diesel market makes as look dumb. Transit ecoboost engine is straight up gas eater, I have f150 with it and I know what I'm saying. This little 2.0 is an awesome engine it was down powered for USA epa standards, but as is it is a beast motor that more powerful than previous v6 diesel. Try to do online research on Europe dlnew diesel cars and you will know what I'm talking about
