The Ariya ensures high levels of comfort and confidence by providing occupants with the latest Nissan technologies, including the next-generation ProPILOT Assist advanced driver assistance. Available on the Nissan LEAF, Altima, Pathfinder, Rogue and Rogue Sport, ProPILOT Assist3 is a hands-on assistance system that helps drivers stay centered in their lane, navigate stop- and-go highway traffic and by maintaining a set vehicle speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.
ProPILOT Assist 2.04 is the newest iteration of Nissan's driver assistance technology. It expands on ProPILOT Assist, allowing attentive drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel under certain conditions, helping reduce the driver's workload in single-lane highway traffic3. In addition, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 also supports multi-lane highway driving tasks such as lane changes, passing and highway exiting.
ProPILOT Assist 2.0 uses the navigation system and high-definition 3-D map data to detect the roadway type, direction and speed limits, and can adjust vehicle speed accordingly for a relaxed and enjoyable journey. A Driver Monitoring System mounted on the steering column monitors that the driver is attentive to the road ahead when using the hands-off feature. When driving in hands-on mode, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 takes advantage of the extensive 3-D map data to help keep the vehicle centered in the lane with increased accuracy.
For the first time in the U.S., ProPILOT Park is available with the new Ariya. ProPILOT Park takes over steering, acceleration brakes and gear shift to guide the vehicle into a parking spot when activated5.
The Nissan Ariya is also equipped with standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360, a suite of six active safety features that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

speaking for the visually impared, we need a system that will allow us to avoid obstacles and drive in stop and go city traffic. we don't need the vehicle to drive for us but just help us drive. thats our dream!

This system will be great when it can get up-to-date realtime traffic info. It's really good now but it can be at the top of the class if they add that.

No FSD beta is better since it can take exits and go to a destination by itself without hands off weel for some minutes

This system works with roads mapped into a data base. In the US there are about 225,000 miles or roads in the daba base, which is used also by GM.

@@autosjaviermota so no, they can not say that it works anywhere in Europe. It might, but nobody can guarantee it for now. I hope it would work in Europe as well. I am living in Europe and I am considering the Nissan Ariya for our next car update

@@Daniel-Condurachi In Europe, highways are also mapped well, but for the European market Nissan does not install ProPilot 2.0. You can see it by the fact that it has only one camera above the mirror and the visible area of the sensor pocket has a smaller viewing angle. Thus, at the moment, the European versions of the Nissan Ariya are not technically equipped with ProPilot 2.0 support. In the European version of the Ariya, ProPilot with NaviLink is available, which is the same solution as in the new Qashqai. I am curious when Nissan intends to start selling cars in Europe that will be technically compatible with those in the US and Japan. Because when buying an Ariya vehicle in Europe now, we get an incomplete car. I suppose the lack of ProPilot 2.0 is due to the lack of homologation in the EU, but selling a car without the technical possibility of upgrading to ProPilot 2.0 is a scandal.

I heard somewhere else that the ProPilot system Aryia is actually a suicide system, i.e. that if you keep your hands off the wheel it will after beeping and alerting disengage ONLY the steering but keep the speed control active instead of braking. Is that true? Will it really disengage steering to make it crash into a wall at full speed instead of decelerating with steering active in case the driver is incapacitated? It seems an awfully cruel way to finish someone off who had for example a heart attack.

Not true. This is basically the same as Super Cruise in GM cars. Same maped roads. Who is that "someone" you heard from?
