The Supra already had some sort of an aftermarket before it came out because it isn't anything new, the B58 already had a bunch of stuff available since there has always been stuff for the M135i's, M140i's and some other models. It inherited everything related to the B58 aftermarket products. But i think the 400Z represents somethng way bigger than the Supra. Its a smaller coupe, it's lighter, it's more affordable and it has the manual option, which is a big thing in the enthusiasts world. Not simply having a manual but it will give you the option for it. The market was waiting for this thing tbh. Its a real japanese compact sportscar with 911 Carrera power and probably better maintainability. Its literally an engine used in all of those Infinitys its been years. It can be whatever you want from it, its a very versatile concept. I think that if Nissan doesn't screw this up somehow, this thing will sell like bananas. I havent been this hyped about a car like this it's been years, it's the right car.

I too was a little disappointed when I had calculated 402 days, but the NewYork Auto Show starts on August 20, 2021 and Nissan announced the unveiling on August 17, 2021, maybe we will see it on August 15, 2021. One thing is for sure, 400Z is in my opinion the best name for the sequel to the next Z in America. I have been watching the names of the next Z on KZbin every day for over 1 years, and the name 400Z is by far the most popular.

It will never happen, they did nothing for it with the nismo. For comparison the civic SI compared to the regular 1.5t had an lsd and maybe a tad more power. The nismo Sentra was a huge letdown, they coulda turned up the boost and called it a day

I definitely love to see so much enthusiasm towards attainable sports cars. Always glad to see people playing with them and modifying them to their heart's desire. It certainly boosts public interest and gets more people behind the wheel with 3 pedals at their feet. A good thing and a battle worth fighting for. But I gotta say, I'm a little skeptical at how many people will want to pay for 1,000 horsepower. I can't see that being very usable on the track, forget the street. Regardless, keep doing what you're doing; music to my ears.

As much as I love it, the "retro" craze is soo 2000 and late. I wish they would have risked a more experimental design like the Z car did in the 90s redefining what a production sports car can look like on the street. It's not really though. Redesigned chassis, new body, new interior, new trans. As a 370Z owner you should be happy bro. That platform is super old in car years. I'm still excited (it's because I own a Q60 and can get new parts😁)

@@jstephens1193 One of the Japanese engineers already said it's a modified 370Z chassis. Nissan was in serious financial stress for a long time. It's a parts bin car, but it should be damn good. So it's going to have a new body and mostly Q60 parts or modified Q60 parts. It doesn't affect me, because it's not enough change for me to jump out out of my '16 Nismo Z. I have twin turbos(Fast Intentions), AP Racing Radi-cals, flex fuel, 600+hp, etc. I'm good. It's a very fun car to drive. I am for a new Z;I'm just not getting one. I just want the new interior. I'm also happy for the Q60 guys, because yall are most likely going to get new parts. I like the Q60, but the Q60 Black was the one I was waiting for. Hopefully enthusiasts will put up, shut up, and buy the car. Too much tearing apart any new sports car that comes out and complaining about them for various reasons. The opportunity to buy affordable cars like this are dwindling fast.

I'm not familiar with the VR30 potential, would it make more sense to swap the gtr engine? That's the vr38 right? Just curious if it'd make more sense to do that if it has larger displacement. Or are they similar engines?

Its very similar just slightly less displacement. The VR30 makes a ton of power with Boltons so there would be no point im swapping a vr38 into it. The money youd spend swapping a vr38 into you could make a 1k+ horsepower vr30. lol

Kinda sad that there is not DCT option. Sure a 6 speed manual is great. But a fast shifting DCT is still king on the track and drag scene. Over 1000 hp 400Z doing 8 sec pass on the drag strip will be insane.

Id guess a cage plug welds, buffs to rocker/leg panels if need be and any way to get it to corner faster than a more expensive car or stock GT-R. But dont we want to see the limits of the stock internals and trans/dif. Id like to see the limit of the stock build with more boost/fuel or e85 before a built head/bigger turbos. Cant wait to see the custom body kits/front clips and the hyper lux carbon parts people will eventually manufactures for this gen. I hope to try to put the dif/trans/engine and brakes onto a z31 in the coming years. Now if they could bring us a silvia/200sx with a vc engine too XD with a manual. To compete with the 86 Too bad they arent but Our dreams would come true. Oh also if someones going to put an AWD setup onto a z35, and manage a suspension setup for that grip/build. These are def builds id like to see no doubt among some forged/sleeved big power builds which are typical....GUYS like this going for records are not typical builds of course.....my biggest concern with a 1000+hp build in a z35 would be "space" for intercoolers/coolant/piping if anything would have to be removed/re-routed etc. Those "bang it out" concepts. Seing as the engine has already been swapped in z34s and people are "developing" pistons and heads for big power on the vr30 with the platform that it currently exists on.

The limiting factor on engines and drivetrain is actually TQ and less so HP numbers. We do not go over 550TQ on a stock motor or trans setups, we have found this is the safest limit.

Hear me out. It cannot be called the 400Z because the engine displacement is going to be a 3.0 liter and all of the previous models have been based on engine displacement. The only names they can really give it with what I know are 300Z or Fairlady Z just to get away from displacement nomenclature.
