Wow, I had no idea how cool and innovative the Gen 2 X1 Patriot is. I’m excited to go to Patriot in Las Vegas and see your trailers first hand. Thanks for the great video.

I remember seeing the X1 years ago thinking it couldn't get any better than that. You guys took what was already a fantastic product and made it even better. I need one more than ever
@SamanthaHAgastin4 ай бұрын
A TRX was hurt in the video 😮 It's awesome that the manufacturer is the first-hand user. Why not a sliding tray on the top of the drawer? What radio do you recommend for a convoy? Love the wet box for beach gear, wetsuits, hiking shoes, mats... You guys have absolutely 💯 👏 nailed the design and overall functionality. When I looked for an off-road trailer, I turned to hybrid and teardrop trailers. Compact, fully capable off-road and feature-full! My idea, though, was adding another "bed on wheels" to my power wagon. Then I discover the X3 a while ago, innovative but not for me. Appeared the X1 Gen2 🎉❤ The magic box 📦 ✨️ 😍 👌 💛 💖 Incredibly compact, modern, with a better kitchen then any larger trailer I have seen. Great storage. Tactical for a perfect camping adventure and world expedition. I'm 💯 sold. I have found my trailer. 🎉 Justin and Sarah, we need a Patriot Camper branded expresso maker 😂 cameraman wish ❤ That way, I can still make my coffee ☕️ in bed and not miss the coffee setup trick of the X3 😂 Cheers from Europe

Gen 2 looks absolutely amazing. My family of 5 (triplets) drove 7 hours to see the Gen 1 at overland East last year all of my expectations where not just met but exceeded. Hope to be able to afford one soon. Keep up the good work.

I saw this in person. It’s more premium than I expected. I just wish the heater was gas instead of diesel but I understand there are pros and cons to both.

I love every thing about your campertrailers and the Gen II are amazing but 22:13 yes this is the one only reason i wouldnt buy one over a Hybrid caravan. Rather have the comfort of a roof over my head with internal and external kitchens at approxamity same price. Keep up the great work, can just see another CTOTY award coming your way.

Great honest review of your new Gen 2 Campers. Cant wait to get my order and visit some awesome places
@jeeptrail-r3f8 ай бұрын
You may want to re-thing that order. I ordered a new X3 this year and it has been the WORST EXPERIENCE with a company in my entire life!. The X3 was delivered missing parts; The trailer brakes didn't work and the Patriot Campers REFUSED to get the trailer BRAKES Working. The WATER TANKS LEAKED. The PVC fitting from the factory was not assembled and install tight enough. When I asked them to fix it they put some putty around the leak INSTEAD of tightening the fitting. When it rains hard the Tent Leaks in the Rain Water. I awoke to over 2.5 cm or 1 inch of rain water in the lid that holds the mattress. Many other things such as the trailer hand brake was not adjusted correctly and the trailer would have rolled away if not for the safety chains. Day-One issues and they wanted a ticket opened to see if they would fix the issue. Months later now and the issues are not resolved!

@@jeeptrail-r3f are you in Australia and when was your X3 built?
@jeeptrail-r3f8 ай бұрын
@@dmallen76 I am in the USA and bought my camper new this year 2024. There was a line up of customers, some with X3 GEN-2 returning for repairs for DAY-ONE quality control issues. They had just received their NEW 2024 x# Gen-2 and had to return to Vegas! They were not happy at all. Other customers had waited many months for PARTS and still had not received them. Top it off the X3 leaks rain water when it rains with any strong winds. Strut failures with not replacement struts' available for MONTHS.

@@jeeptrail-r3f I have a few issues, one that makes my X1 Gen 2 a shed ornament :( The rear doors opens on bumpy terrain, none of the others do. This is while it is in a locked state so unclear how the latches can get power to them.

Love all your vids guys. We own a off grid toyhauler caravan but have used some of your ideas to build our van. Only gas supply is for our instant hot water which is great but to eliminate gas would be better. Would be great to see more of the diesel heater and hot water specs and if it would handle my partners long showers..
@PatJuhNL Жыл бұрын
You could probably do that IF you we're to put on a 500W fullsize panel (that's around 1900mm x 1150mm) on the top and maybe an aditional smaller 200w panel on the aux port. Guessing you are in Australia, getting around 5-6hours of solid daylight You should get around 0,6kW x 5 hours = 3kWh of energy (on average?) If it's more you need less solar and less storage in the next part of the story. Cooking a simple two burner meal is around 15 minutes @ 3kWh = 0.75kWh Heating up 20L of water from 20C to 75C for a shower and dishes (without losses) would need around, 1.3kWh Our 80L Dometic uses around 20-30Ah (12v) a day if I remember correctly. This is around 30x12 = 0.36kWh This would make up a total of of around 2.5kWh (rounded up to a half). You would also like to charge up a cell, laptop, or camera, use your lighting, maybe the compressor, etc... so 3kWh total (rounded). Remember, there isn't always sun out there so you would need a couple of days of storage (to be safe and not strain the batteries to much). At 12V that would be around 500-600Ah (Lithium, AGM = 1200Ah) which is around 6 to 7.2kWh of storage. That is quite a bit of Lithium... Although possible, a 12V 100Ah Renogy battery is around €500, a Victron is around €800 (built in BMS though). 5 or 6 would be around €2500 to €4800,00... This is a lot of money compared to getting a few cans of gas or diesel for the heaters and cooking. Not to mention the required Inverters, chargers, panels, etc... Apart from the costs, I would like to ditch gas for the most part too. Maybe just for the cooking alone as this is the most hazardous due to the moving parts of the slider and such. Using diesel or gas for heating my water is fine, as this is a fixed appliance.
@harrywalker968 Жыл бұрын
theres mini water heaters. $100 ish.. 12v or 240. can use with inverter.. i run a micro wave 800 watt, off a 2500 watt inverter.. or power tools..ect. ceramic cooktop. $300.ish,. run off inverter.
@PatJuhNL Жыл бұрын
@@harrywalker968 And where do you get the power from? The Inverter isn't the problem, you need a source too.. Driving around and charging the trailer is fun on the long haul to your destination but if you want to stay there for a while you need solar/wind too ;).

Good to see you again Justin. Quick question can the rear door on the X1 be un hitched so that it hangs all the way down which gives better access to the back of the storage, like you could do on the older Gen 1? Regards Steve
@patriotcampers Жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, the GEN2 rear door now is now controlled by gas assisted arms. It is possible to unbolt the rear arms but it is a different process compared to the GEN1 X1. We would recommend speaking to your local dealer before doing so 👍

Hey. The X3 is designed for couples and therefore comfortably sleeps 2 people. If you're looking to accommodate for more people, something like the X1 might be more up your alley. Feel free to get in touch through our website and we can help you out more.

Only half way through and noticed you touched on tires... if it is mentioned later on apologies... is the spare a full size? If not can you see any issues with this when remote traveling? Are there any speed/distance restrictions on it etc? EDIT, notice you answered this as the 46min mark. Nice one.

Thanks Marc. A full sized 33" spare is underneath the drawbar 👌 It's a low profile mud terrain tyre that is slightly narrower and it sits on a steel wheel.
@harrywalker968 Жыл бұрын
should have same wheels on 4x4 as trailer..or carry too many spares.. low profile not good..too bouncy, easy to puncture.. or carry carcase & learn to change tires..

you need same tires all round.. low profile is bad.. for off road.. plus you carry more spares. different sizes, not good.. he should have different size rims, & you buy the tires for it so there the same all round.. tires have to be 10 ply.. a/t. mud terrain wear too fast..
