I've been looking forward to this video! I knew it was on the agenda and I couldn't wait to see all the sleds. You have such a humble demeanor... all class! Of course, I'm bummed that I haven't been able to do much myself this year so videos like this are gold! Thanks for all your efforts and your willingness to share your experiences with us. Happy Trails!

Glad you enjoyed it Ken. I never did hit the trails in St Croix County this year but plenty of riding at shows, Pequot Lakes and ERX. Hope to get one more ride in for 2023.

Well thanks so much. You guys are so much fun to hang with. I struggled with some technical issues on the audio but hope it turned out ok. I’d call it a C-.

Great video Jason. I’ve been going to Pequot for around 27 years and have only missed it a couple of times. It’s the best vintage event thanks to Dave and the Brush Pilots. I was happy that my two sons came along. Thanks for the kudos and it was great to meet you in person. Keep sending these videos our way.

Couldn't agree more! Nice chatting and see you at the next show, hopefully its before Pequot but if not, see ya there.

No way! HELL YEA, always come up and say HI. I have met so many great people in the vintage sled world. Well also met some I wish I hadn't, mostly as commenters on FB groups.... but still. Maybe I will see ya at the next one!

All I 've ever ridden is old sleds!....cept for a couple years in Mt when we bought new ones! Sold them when we moved back to Mn. Was sledless for many years after. Just bought a 95 Puma...a work in progress ,but I have had a couple short rides on it. It's gonna be a summer project! We always rode Skiroules or Skidoos...so this is my first Cat. It's only 28 yrs. old so not sure it qualifies as vintage?!

Close enough. Who cares, fix it, ride it, send it, repeat. Oh and pour a beer between each of those. No sense on taking any of this stuff too serious

Incredable I still haven't seen a ess ke mo scamp or scout

Don't think I have ever seen those myself. Pretty limited here in the midwest for some of those rare brands.

Great video! Looks like it was an amazing event. A LOT of really old sleds! I wish we had some vintage runs in my area with so many early to mid 60s machines... Maybe I'll have to hop on a plane and come see for myself next year! lol! Keep up the good work!

You better bring a trailer Matt. When you drive a Cat with its slide rail suspension and low foreword mounted engine (let alone the seat sexiness) you gonna bring back a wack of em. Bahahaha. Thanks for the comment!

Well since that video I’ve been through 2 of the K301 platform. I’ve learned a lot and both will be up at Pequot 2024 provided the show goes on.

Jeez, don't those Kohler guys know not to just let it idle all day?? 🤣 The Kohler crank mystery...
@Letsfixsomething26 Жыл бұрын
Eh.... NO COMMENT. I talked to a bunch of guys who have been at that show when it was like -20F for 3 days and they never turned them off. Like the entire weekend. ALso talked to guys who had rods lock up for no reason at all, high RPM, Idle, Low RPM, under load, all that. Dunno. Either way I sure wish I had my Kohler cat up there. Oh well....... next year.

Love that 72 Olympic, but I'm kind of over the old doos for a while. Question, ever have your belt flip over backwards? Also, at the worst time, my points will fail, I sand them and it runs great. It's starting to be a daily thing and I'm wondering if they can be cleaned or greased or if I just need new ones? Great video/show!
@Letsfixsomething26 Жыл бұрын
I have had neither happen but suppose that if you do not have proper clutch alignment that could happen. As for points.......... not sure what "fail" means. If they get all carbon tracked it may be the condensor that is getting weak. I have never had my points gum up or get carbon tracked or anything like that on any of my points motors.

@@Letsfixsomething26 It's weird because they aren't even dirty, but I'll loose spark, file them, and then I'll have great spark. But then it'll sit for a week or even a few hrs and loose spark again.
