2023 Pops Camp Concert

Through the generosity of the Hecht Foundation and the State College of Florida, the Pops Orchestra hosted a Chamber Music Camp July 17 through July 21, 2023 on the Bradenton campus of the State College of Florida.
Ranging in age from 12 to 64, 61 music students from 19 area middle schools, high schools, and colleges participated in the week-long camp, led by six chamber music coaches and administered by Pops conductor Dr. Robyn Bell.
The ensembles and coaches include:
1. String Quartet coached by Pops concertmaster Nikki Rinsema
2. Low Brass Choir coached by Pops tuba player and executive director Dr. Dan Burdick
3. Woodwind Ensemble coached by Pops principal flutist and board member Dr. Jane Hoffman
4. Saxophone Choir coached by Pops saxophonist Zach McKee (new ensemble to the camp this year)
5. Percussion Ensemble coached by college interns Hazel Landers and Gannon Flewelling
6. Jazz Combo coached by Pops principal trumpet Victor Mongillo
