2023 Porsche 911 GTS Review- Why It’s The Most Underrated 911 (Plus 0-60 Test)

Today I review the new 2023 Porsche 911 GTS. I will do a walk around, facts, features and a test drive. Make sure to watch until the end to see the 0-60!
The 992 GTS is an interesting car in Porsche's lineup. It sits between a GT3 and a Carrera S. It gets a lot of hardcore features that an S does not get while also getting many standard features you have to pay for on an S. In a straight line it's actually quicker than a GT3 which is the only car in Porsche's lineup to be quicker than it's more expensive sibling. Make sure to subscribe and like this video as well!

Underrated? Why? Everybody loves the GTS. After the base model (for obvious rea$ons), the GTS have the longer waiting list. It's the sweet spot in all 911 versions.

I do think it doesn’t get as much attention (at least on KZbin) as one might expect. Most of the time, if it’s a GT car being reviewed, it ends in 3. (Yes, I know this isn’t an actual GT car).

in the uk i have seen more turbos and carrera s than GTS - ive seen many turbos and S's but only ever 2 GTS, specifically only 1 992 GTS. as well as this there is very little in terms of used market for them at the moment so grabbing a pre owned manual with aerokit has become far more difficult

I just bought my dream car: a 992 GTS Cabriolet. It's pure magic. Of the countless 992 videos I've watched on KZbin, yours is the first to mention Reduced View. Cheers! IMO, I like how another reviewer mentioned that, aside from Reduced View, Porsche engineers kept what's most important in view amongst the 5-gauge "Normal" view. In the 2000 miles Ive put on my car in the first month, I'm totally at peace with the obstructed fuel gauge in "Normal" view.

I agree the fuel Gauge issue isn’t that big of a deal to me. Porsche gives you a warning beep when you’re low on gas anyways. Enjoy your GTS

Hey there, I have a 23 GTS C2 in 7MT. Paint is Carmine red and the interior GTS package is Carmine red stitching which is why I got it. The manual is so nice and it is easier to drive than my Mini Cooper S.

Nice review. I have a 992 GTS aero kit and love it. Mine also has PDK, on the track definitely the better option and on the road as a daily would still go PDK. I also have a manual Boxster so best of both worlds.

Seriously have said it so many times and have seen it over and over in drag races. You need approximately 200hp more than the 911 to beat a 911. Also first hand experience as I have a GTS.

Great stuff. Brother has a chalk with aero and dad has an Agate grey. I wouldn’t necessarily say it “sits between the GT3 and the S”. The GT3 is a basically a completely different line up. Maybe it “sits between the S and the Turbo” would be more accurate. Since the GT3 is NA, double wishbones, etc, it’s much different and more unique than the normal 911 lineup. That being said, the performance of the GTS vs the GT3 is so dang close (in some ways, track times might be even better in a GTS with same tires, for some drivers).

Well price wise it does sit between the gt3 and S. The gt3 gets different suspension because it wouldn’t be fast enough on the track to justify the price difference over a GTS. The gt3 is also Built on the carrera body. The turbo s is faster than a gt3 on most tracks with the right tire, so personally the main selling point of a gt3 is the engine. Gt3rs imo is more of the special 911 variant. GTS is probably a bit slower than gt3 on the track but in the straight line stuff the GTS is quicker. Performance wise and price wise the gt3 is the next step up from the GTS

I would suggest to you that all the non GT 911s are underrated. The automotive press is obsessed with the race car derived GT products. The base 911, T, and GTS are remarkable cars for the road and have the added benefit of allowing you not to lose your drivers licence as quickly as a Turbo, GT3, GT3RS or S/T.

Currently the GTS is hard to get without 20-30k ADM. My friend got his in white with ADM and Aero Kit, but he has a lot of issues, and he is now filing for a lemon and waiting for Porsche to respond.

The biggest difference in the GTS is the way it handles and sounds. Plus you get the alcanatra gt3 style interior. It’s more for driving versus raw power.

price wise, the gt3 is the next step up. Gt3 is cheaper than a turbo MSRP. Especially considering the gt3 is based on a carrera body and the turbo gets a whole different body and intakes. Performance wise, the GTS is more similar to the gt3. The GTS is supposed to be the most hardcore carrera. It gets the turbo parts because if it got the gt3 parts it would be faster than a gt3.

The GT3 has a 9000 RPM 4.0 liter engine, the body is based on a Carrera true. The body of the GT3 RS is based on the turbo. That doesn’t make either next in line . When you look on the Porsche site , model overview page . The Carreras end then the Turbos start . Then the GT3’s come next . Those points aside , the GTS receives wheels from the turbo , optional suspension from the turbo (except the targa). As far as price ? MSRP and reality are two separate ideas . Certainly MSRP of a GT3 is closer to a GTS , in reality? No one purchases a GT3 less expensive than a Turbo . No one purchases a GT3 at MSRP. Only a select few multimillionaires and or multi 911 unit buyers will ever have the chance to purchase a GT3.

The gt3 is definitely a different feeling when you’re driving because of the engine, sound, gearbox and suspension. So I do agree that for most people who want a “road” car, they will look at the turbos before the gt3’s when moving on from a GTS. But, I think most of the gt3’s value on the used market is because of the fear of combustion engines being banned by the EU and America in the future. I don’t think personally that a gt3 (non rs) should be $300k as good as it is. Gt3’s always held value well, but to be double over MSRP I think is not normal and not what the manufacturer values the gt3 at. With that being said, as a GTS owner I would definitely progress to a gt3 from a GTS instead of a turbo. I track my cars and love the light weight of the gt3. I think the majority of Carrera S owners would pick a turbo over a gt3. But I think a decent amount of GTS and even T owners would prefer a gt3 over a turbo. But my main point in the video was price, but ultimately it’s up to if someone wants a track focused car or a street car

I hear what your saying . Unless you’re hooked up well with a dealer ? You will not have a chance for a new GT3 , I don’t believe they are ever double , but 100-150k over , for a regular person to buy. I have a 2023 GTS Cab. Akropovich slip on and Akropovich sport cats . No track for me . Long distance rides are my preference. I have no interest in a turbo , only because of the no option manual . I would buy a GT3 in any configuration tomorrow as a second car if I was able to buy new at MSRP , no interest in used . I would drive any version of the GT3 , GT3RS being my first choice every time. Again it would not go on a track . A 20k mile trip and back n forth to work every day would be my usage . I ride bikes too . On a rainy day , I’d much rather be in a GT3RS . As far as price goes , I hit just short of every box available , including exclusive manufacture interior , so I was up close to turbo money . Bought it to keep it . If I do sell ? Most of the 911 content online is about gt3’s or turbo’s, so basically nobody makes content about the GTS except for a few reviews. Also, a lot of Carrera owners say that there’s no reason to get a GTS and instead you should get a GT3 if you wanted a more driver focused carrera. But the reality is that the GTS is just as fast as a gt3 on the street, much cheaper, still has 4 seats, comfortable and practical enough to daily drive and is great on the track too.

@@carswithnateit’s not underrated, it’s basically NOT rated. But this is how the GTS has always been. New MY comes out and Porsche always does the S and base first, so those get a ton of reviews because they all want to drive it. Then typically the Turbo and GT3 trickle in and the mags want to test those. Somewhere in there, Porsche seems to sneak the GTS in and since they have already done so many articles on the S, Turbo and GT3, many of the mags don’t do it a ton of reviews and usually mention that they are similar to the S, with a little more HP, and some other little toys and features added. If the GTS were the first one to come out, there would be a ton of reviews.

I personally wouldn't compare the GTS to the GT3. Not sure why people do that. They're different species of 911. More comparable are the GTS and Turbo: though the Turbo has higher performance than the GTS as it should, I'd consider the GTS to be a "Turbo Lite". I wish my vacuum cleaner sounded like a 911! I'd have a MUCH cleaner home.

I compare the two because the gt3 is the next step up in terms of price for the GTS. Gt3 is still based on the carrera body and RWD. Straight line performance is the same in the gt3 and GTS. The gt3 is more hardcore than the GTS, but it has to be because they’re basically the same car without the stiffer suspension and weight savings

Good video. However, gotta respectfully disagree, the RS Spyder wheels on my 23 4 GTS look far cooler, imo and with no center lock, you don't have to worry about getting stranded if you have a flat out in the sticks. The wing is nice but I am not sure I would want it.....just looks too boy racer. Also alcantara wears out really fast, especially on lower seat, and will actually reduce resale, Nate.

The buckets were on back order when I ordered my car and it’s my daily driver so the 18 ways ended up being a good choice for me. The biggest thing on the race track is driver skill. I’m faster than most people at the track not because I have the fastest car but because I’m a better driver than most of the guys at the track days.
