Is the Porsche 911 GTS A Baby Turbo S?

The Porsche 911 GTS is one of the sportier trim levels in the lineup. It sits right below the non gt models behind the Turbo but also has some characteristics of the GT3. So is this thing a juiced up Carrera S or a baby Turbo?
When I first got the change to drive the 911 GTS, it was a cabriolet. So being able to drive the coupe was something i've been thinking about for a while and when i finally got the chance, i wasnt going to pass it up. This example is painted in phyton green and is a wonderful, balanced spec. The only thing its missing in my opinion is a manual transmission, but thats another topic.
The GTS represents an interesting place within the 911 lineup. For being an expensive car, it represents quite a value when compared to the other models. Beyond that, the performance is at a staggering level. With blazing fast acceleration and on rail like handling, the GTS is quite the performance car.
So is it a baby Turbo S? Maybe. Watch the video to find out!

Love my '23 4 GTS. Went with a little more subtle Aventurine Green Metallic. Debating getting a Turbo S but honestly the GTS is probably more than enough performance for public roads.

18-way seats are for the old people buying a 911. It’s not an enthusiast spec. It’s a very heavy option with all the added motors and mechanisms. If you want to spec a GTS right, go with the 4-way sport seats plus or even better, the full bucket seats with rear seat delete. Also, what’s with the Spyder RS wheels? This is a GTS and should be configured with the Turbo S centerlocks. I like those PCCBs though.

Great review! The acceleration of this model with a PDK is faster than most "super cars." But it is a car you can daily drive. I prefer the Carrera S for a daily driver because of the ride quality. But I am not as hard core as most drivers looking at this model.

It is really, really fast. But yes I do agree that it's getting close to the line of too stiff for daily driving.

I owned a ‘23 C8 Z51. FAF car. But I sold it and just ordered a ‘24 911 GTS Coupe with the seven speed manual. Should be more engaging to drive. Report back when it arrives

I'm sure it is about your mic or not but the engine sound isn't as good as I expected. I'm considering 992 GTS and 718 GTS 4.0. I still prefer the engine sounds from 718 GTS 4.0 - flat 6 NA engine sounds far more better.

I find your comments on the thrust similarities (and differences) with a Turbo/S interesting. But you accelerated several times on straight stretches of road, which in my opinion is of limited interest, in as much as a 911 reveals its DNA on mixed roads (twisties in particular). If you are just interested in drag race capabilities, then the Turbo S and the 991 GT2 RS are unmatchable in the 911 range.😎
