2023 Porsche Macan: Is The New Macan Worth It?

Just got a 2023 Macan S and love it! The twin turbo V6 and sports exhaust really makes it a blast to drive. If you are looking for something with excellent driving dynamics and are a spirited driver and are really going to push it then the Macan is for you.

We picked up our 2022 model S just this week, and it sure is a blast to drive. When I hear negative comments about the macan (which aren’t many), I just put my foot down and smile at how good this thing is😊

Car and driver said they got a 3.8 0-60 in the S. I think that’s crazy, but can you confirm if that’s accurate? Idk if they took the average of multiple pulls or what

@@WD.909 I have not done any scientific tests but was able to get 3.9 just from my iPhone stopwatch. I also have a Tesla Model 3 Performance which is rated at 3.2 sec 0-60 and the Macan is not far behind at 60 MPH and coming past the Model 3 by about 85-90 MPH. It definitely is quite fast.

The PDK is the best dual clutch in the business. They invented it in their Le Mans race cars in 1983, it was 12 feet long. Took them to 2009 to get it into the 911S

In my test drive of a 2021 I felt the leg room in the back was fine. I’m not a small person at 5’10 but not as small a space as you showed. My 23 should be here in two weeks.

Porsche focuses on performance, drive ability and safety. They do it in a stylish manner. What car doesn't have a cheap turn signal stock? Gotta buy a Bentley or Rolls if you want to get ride of that cheap plastic. Porsche is smart, it's called weight savings! :)

Only thing I'm gonna be annoyed by with this car is losing Heads Up Display. I have a 2015 BMW Sport Line 3 series with Head Up Display and have been spoiled by it. I want a porsche but that is something I guess I'll have to get used to not having again.

You’re correct. I had the first iteration in the 997.2 2009 911S. With the PDK the 911S was faster on the track than the 997.1 GT3. I have it in my current GT3 and it’s magic

Nothing strange about the hood cut outs. It's to keep the lights in the front at all times. Minis have this too. What is more concerning is why a car reviewer doesn't known this.

Most cars have lights in front when the hood is up... still strange they put the hood around the lights and not above them.

@@zbabyg6998 Nothing strange about that. it was done for design aesthetics. When the hood is down there are no odd lines flowing around the bumper, fender and hood. It all looks like one cohesive shell.

the camera on your head is obnoxious when you're driving - also that's not a base base - vented seats, bose stereo, height adjustment etc are all options !

Yes, apart from Sport Chrono package (which this car does NOT have) this unit is well-optioned. Probably original sticker price was somewhere around $77K - +/- $2.5K). I think it has 14-way seats (upgrade), sky roof package and upgraded leather ($3700) and park assist, plus many others. Nice to see someone got OTHER THAN BLACK leather (95% get black leather.....BORRRRING). And yes, skull camera is SOOOOOO different than a fixed camera...the quieter the camera, the better the video. This video is great..thanks for doing it!

Test drove macan s v6, awful, no power and inside looked cheap like I was inside a Toyota. Too much plastic and didn’t feel luxury. Cayenne is much better but I bought a Range Rover sport.
