2023 Ram 2500 LongHorn Mega Cab: It's Just Money, Right?

Of all the Ram trims, the Longhorn has the best interior period. The black and cattle tan is the best color combination going. I absolutely love it on my 2020. I looked at a lot of trim levels when deciding what to buy, but when I saw the Longhorn, it was an easy decision. Too many Rams have pretty much all one color when it comes to the interior. It would be really interesting to see what a TRX would look like with a Longhorn interior.

@@treboy Well, let me set the record straight first. I have a 2020 Longhorn 1500, and I love it. I do have a friend though was was looking for a new truck but does a lot of towing, motorcycles, camper and work tools during the week. He had a 2500 but needed a new one. I’ll just say his truck wasn’t a Ram. He had been looking for a while, but after seeing the interior of my Longhorn, that’s what he wanted. A couple weeks later and he found the Longhorn he wanted and he absolutely loves it ! It’s a daily driver that does everything he needs including going to the grocery store with the family. You just can’t get that interior on any other Ram. Not that we’re cowboys or ranchers but it’s what really appeals to my friend and I. I will say though, if you see someone in a Longhorn, there’s probably a little bit of cowboy in them anyway.

I like the "not normal" two tone interiors like the Rebel and Longhorn, with the brown/black and red/black. It gives the trucks character.

Great review! I think the Longhorn trim in ANY Ram is the best looking trim there is. Aesthetically, I think it stands above the Limited trim

Put a family of four in it and your left maybe 1000 lbs of payload which means 10% is 10000lb trailers rated to 16000 roughly but doesn’t have a high enough payload to support its towing capability love ram truck but severely under rated for payload

I am the proud owner of a loaded 22 Powerwagon. Love my truck. The interior and stitching on this Longhorn is on another level though. I wish I could swap out some pieces and get that color combo.

Nice truck. I like the western theme of this and the 2500 King Ranch. I ended up going with the 2024 2500 High Country which I really enjoy. Love these diesel engines, and the leather and wood look. Some great 2500 trucks out there now.

I'm personally not a fan of the saddle bags and badges. Extremely nice interior otherwise. I went with the 2022 Laramie myself, but I don't have all the goodies.

2023 Ram 2500 LongHorn "Feast of Textures" Mega Cab, is very close to being the perfect truck. To take it to the next level would be to go Rig Ready with the 5" lift, which will run you $103k (USD).

Add the AEV edition, which I did. Also added a larger fuel tank, lockers, and a rear winch. Now it is close to being a perfect machine. Very costly.

The break in for the 6.7 Cummins is 10,000 miles. I ordered a 2022 Limited Longhorn back in 2021 and got it last January, and that’s what Cummins recommends for a break in, but it’s not really “fully” broken in until 30-50,000 miles. I absolutely love my truck! As for the HUD on the 2023, I’m not sure.

Just got rid of my 2019 RAM 2500 Laramie (Night Edition). It was great, just needed more truck for a trailer. I have a GMC now but man, I liked the Mega Cab more with the storage you get in the front is much better.

6.7 Cummins Diesel engine, and a payload capacity of 1700 lbs?!?!?What an absolute joke. My half ton 3.5L Ecoboost has a higher payload capacity. Trucks nothing more than a VERY expensive paper weight.

The reason why the payload rating is low because of the diesel engine is so heavy you lose a lot of payload because of it if you buy a 2500 with a 6.4 Hemi you get at least around 4,000 lb of payload.

@@Steven91992 Well RAM can still make the payload capacity higher even if the engine is heavy. Zero point in having a 6.7 diesel if the payload is so low.

With payload the more the vehicle weighs the less payload you get If you buy a basic 2wd 2500 Cummins it will have more payload compared to a fully-loaded 4X4 2500 Cummins that's shown in this video it will have less payload because it weighs more.

@@Steven91992 Ya I know diesels weigh more but what I’m saying is that the Cummins is pointless with a payload of 1700. By the time you add passengers, fuel, etc you’ll have like 800-1000 left. It’s pathetic on RAM’s part considering how much this truck costs. An F250 diesel has a payload 2-3 times this. If you actually plan on towing anything, this truck is a worse option than my F150 Ecoboost 🤣🤣🤣
