2023 Range Rover Sport Review

Our first ever Review and Team Test, First drive of the brand new 2023 Range Rover Sport.

Have owned LR products for over 15 years including multiple sports. Was really looking forward to this new version. But I do not like the exterior. At all! Front end is a mess and bulbous. Rear end is a Pathfinder copy. Interior is great. Only hope is that the SVR looks better. So disappointing.

Yes, I'm interested to see if they manage to 'fix' the front end on the SVR it needs something for sure! The only saving grace is the interior, it is a really nice place to be and that is where you spend all your time.

Exactly right, I am interested in the development in their new EV powertrain that will be coming in the Defender facelift, 2026 I believe and then go on to be in the Range Rover line up. Frankly LR are far too late to the party on that side of things.

You made me happy with this review, even you’re looking like a gang of hooligans 😂 no, seriously, I ordered one D300 SE in Varesine blue with some neccessary options last week and before that I was considering also big Range. But this one looks better to me and has very similar dimensions and option list. Still a very good daily driver for family with 2 small hooligans! Hope it will be more reliable than predecessor (fingers crossed)…

Haha I'm glad you liked it! A gang of hooligans we are not but yeah we for sure aren't your normal car sales people sat around all day in suits. Yeah the biggest difference in this generation of Range Rover is that the sport is far closer to the big range in terms of refinement and 'luxury' and like you say the size isn't all that different anymore.

Marc. Welcome back! Fantastic Team review. Top Gear Team watch out! Brilliant. And you guys know what you are talking about. New RR Sport is absolutely jaw dropping! Rear end is superb. Minimalist style. Hadn't given the number plate placement too much attention. However, Marc you are right. 😲🤔. All black all the way. Hope all good with You and Premier. Cheers guys! Thirty or so states in the United States require cars to have a front license plate.

Hi , Is this a First edition - great video and great comments. Tell me the Black/ Black is cool - any comments regarding Black/ Cloud.. Keep those videos coming- well done .

Hi John, Thank you! Yes it is a first edition car so it is pretty much as 'high spec' as you can get in one of these. Black with Black always works on a Range Rover Sport, having said that lighter interior colours often add a feel of 'class' for want of a better word, and also make it feel more spacious.

@@premiersports_uk It’ll probably be part of a facelift in 3 or 4 years time. Although we all thought they’d rectify the offset rear number plate on the Discovery, but they didn’t 😕

I see that in Mat Watsons Carwow review of the new RR Sport, the number plate is in position that you suggested and it looks much better 😊

Oh really, interesting! I have actually since seen a main Land Rover dealer advertising one with the numberplate in the 'wrong' position too although they will probably get told off for that and have to place it back to where it was from factory...such is main dealer compliance

Time will tell on reliably of the new car, what I can say is the new defender seems much improved reliability wise than previous generation JLR products so fingers crossed they have sorted things out.
