Just went to the Mohegan Sun (Hartford) Boat Show in Connecticut. I already had a list of boats I wanted to see in the 22-24 foot range because I plan on trailering it every where since I do most of my boating in freshwater. Prices you saw in FL were basically the same I saw in CT. My big reason for going was can I fit in front of the helm and fit in the head compartment. Being 6',3" at 300 lbs., most boats are built for your "average" guy. Best head access, Robalo, Edgewater, Cobia, Pursuit, Blackfin & Finseeker. These boats also had the best room between the helm and seat. The other brands the helm was either too low so the wheel would rap my nuts or there was a lack of room overall even with a tilt steering wheel and helm bolster up. Some of the throttle/binnacle were low. Some brands are using a shorter throttle while others have a long throttle. From the CT show, Best bang for the buck on a boat that fits my size, Robalo, Cobia and Finseeker. Robalo has a taller toilet so it does not feel like your sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, Cobia was that portable head....the height of a milk crate. Most interesting/intriguing boat - Finseeker by Crownline. I was surprised on the room I had in a 21 footer Finseeker. They make a 22 & 23 and it's a heavy boat for their size which matters in rough waters. Great video content John. I watch every boat show you visit.

LOVE the channel, John. One thing is for certain, you are brutally honest in your assessments! My wife and I will be at the Miami Boat Show next month looking at and possibly buy/order even MORE expensive boats: 25-27ft Center Consoles! Via online reviews, she likes the Cobia 262 CC and Sportsman Open 262 where I'm partial to the Contender 25T. LET THE BATTLE BEGIN! 😅 (I think I may have already lost prior to going though...) We're hoping they'll have sea trials for one or more of them AND better weather than you just experienced! If you and fam/friends decide to go this year, I hope to see you there and say a quick hello!

The Grady you looked at had the NEW version of the old”OVER-NIGHTER” tied up next to it. They just redesigned that model and it’s now a 23Ft Walk around that I really like A LOT! I was even able to see the price from where you were shooting your video from-that was a cool sneak peak at it.price was $169k which is not as bad as I thought it could be…look forward to more from this show John-it’s becoming a tradition here on your channel and it’s great-Thanks for doing these videos. Funny-just the other day I was thinking-“haven’t seen a John video in a dogs age” and here it was…Thanks again

@@jiggingjerks YES John-it’s the Adventure 218.Replaces the Adventure 208- which replaced the old”Over-nighter20” They stretched it out to 23’ closed up the open Transom(Yeah-I know how you feel about those)and put either a 250 or 300hp Yamaha on them. It’s a beautiful new version and with the Hard top-looks like a really nice set up. The “Boat show special price”of $169k is still steep but-I’m sure Spellmans or POE will get it close to-or over $200k easily. The thing that makes it really exceptional in my opinion is the Hardtop that-somehow gets omitted as an option up in our region.I guess to keep the costs down but-that’s a “must have” option-non negotiable. Look forward to see whatever footage you took of it-Thanks

It's not so much about what it cost to buy, it's also what can you sell it for when that time comes. If its not a quality built boat, that will show like a neon sign when you list it for sale. Those lower end boats will have most of the hardware covered in rust shortly.
