Im very surprised there aren't more videos comparing motors, your videos are truly the only ones out there like this

It's a very expensive process. These motors are not cheap.

i would suggest the lower torque motors that can still rev can be the best choice for lower traction conditions , the higher torque motor is great in high traction , but for stock racing we should by now be at the point of submitting your battery and motor at the start of the season and they are sealed and signed and thats what you use for the whole season , tyre allocation should be heavily limited to too , it stops the wallet racers from dominating , clubs can also run open class for those who race their wallets.

The problem is, they tried this way back in the 90's and people found ways to beat the system. Probably, at least 90% of the tracks don't care or have the time for inspections. It takes way too much time. I was at a race where a kid was running his dad's buggy in Rookie class. The buggy was set up with a 13.5 motor. Clearly this buggy wasn't legal, but the officials never flagged the kid.

Ok i just bought a V6 17.5 lol. I figured it's the cheapest one might as well give it a shot and compare it to the team powers v5. I'm running this in my B6.4 on carpet. I might still give the G4R a shot too lol.
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
It's pretty crazy how inexpensive the V6 motors are. I heard, from many people, that they are the motor to beat. The G4R is also a good motor, but I would prefer the V6 for off-road carpet. The V6 has a bit more torque.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 yea its kinda crazy they are about $90 shipped. That's at least $20 cheaper than the next decent motor and if it outperforms them that's even better lol. I love finding hidden gems. Sometimes the price of stuff deters us since we associate high price with better quality. So naturally we gravitate towards the more expensive motor assuming it's automatically better. Thank you for your guidance and help
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
Well the truth is, I feel the same way. RC racing is getting too expensive. I ended up getting a killer deal on the Surpass motors. Once I found out how good they were, I bought crap load of them and sold them as cheap as I could. After tax, shipping, and driving down to ship them, I pretty much broke even, I did that to help other racers save money.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 yea for sure. It nickels and dimes you if you let it. I'm building a B7 and spent more on upgrades than the kit cost lol. But I have fun and enjoy it a lot. However, it definitely is expensive. That was nice of you to hook everyone up. Where did you order from? I found a guy on ebay if you order more than 2 you can get them down to about $73 shipped. I have 3 motors in my ebay cart as we speak lol. I was considering replacing the whitz racing motor in the T6.4 and I was thinking about turning the B7 into a 21.5 car or just getting another 17.5.
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
I was getting them from Surpass, directly. I had a total of 100 motors from them.

Im trying to decide on a motor for 17.5 racing and im leaning towards either the Hobbywing G4R or the Surpass lite, since my car is a porker I was thinking maybe lite would be better :)
@wutupclegg66189 ай бұрын
What car are you racing. Heavy cars might benefit better from high torque motors.

@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
which version of this do you recommend for indoor carpet off road? and yes im here cause you recommended this motor to me lol
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
Very cool! LOL... The Stock Spec one would work better. The light weight one would be a good on road motor.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 haha ok thank you so much. Amazon only has the lightweight one so I will go to ebay or somewhere else for the stock spec. It looks like this surpass motor tests better than fantom, trinity and the G4r. I almost pulled the trigger so many times on the Hw G4R
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
Did you find them on eBay?
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 yes sir. And if I ordered 2 or more the price dropped to $72 each shipped

How do you feel about their ESCs. Im working on a dela with Alibaba. Going to order a few more motors and then i saw the T160V2 esc 160amps and was thinking for $80 its a good deal. It has timing and boost too so i could easily run it in my drift car. I was just curious if you had any knowledge on them. Thank you as always
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
They are really good ESC's. Just remember, if you spend more than $800, you will have to pay a Tarif tax. You can also get a programming card for it. I'm not sure if they have a bluetooth option.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 yea for sure I've imported stuff before. It's going to be small order to start. And yea they have a program card for them. I usually use HW escs strictly but I like branching out and for $80 I will toss it in the drift car lol
@wutupclegg66185 ай бұрын
I believe they are,basically, HW ESCs.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 that's what I was thinking. Manufacturing items is very expensive and difficult. 90% of these brands, whether it be a servo or esc, are made by another company and rebranded. These smaller companies don't have the power to Manufacturer their own stuff. Like agfrc servos. They make alot of other companies servos but nobody knows that. So at the end of the day there is 3 to 4 companies making all the rc parts then rebranded. The companies we buy from are basically just marketing companies marketing a product the didn't really make.
@LegendsPizzaCo5 ай бұрын
@wutupclegg6618 I wonder who the parent companies are for all these brands. Like I said manufacturering is expensive and there is no way these companies are making these things themselves. From my research it seems HW ans Surpass make their own stuff but I could be wrong. Just like AGFRC makes all the other brands servos. It also makes sense as to why they are cheaper than other brands. They make money both ways whether you buy their brand or another brand. Almost like a private label at the grocery store. I wonder tho who the main companies are that are making all these escs and motors. Surpass and HW are based in shenzen which is the manufacturing capital.

If you really think people buying and dyno testing and tuning motor is the difference in why people win stock races… or races in general… your mistaken… drive clean… if you win, you usually didnt wreck… like, no marshalls.
@wutupclegg661810 ай бұрын
If you can't make it around the track without a self-inflicted crash, then yes, faster motors won't help. If you don't crash and you still need a kick of speed, then tuning and testers are nice to have.
@gt1man931 Жыл бұрын
"Stock" It is still the same disaster it has been for decades. It is just more expensive than ever. The same fast guys still buy 8 or 12 of whatever the latest "stock" motor is and dyno to find the best. Same with packs.
@wutupclegg6618 Жыл бұрын
This is very true. No matter what rules are made to stock class racing, someone will find ways to beat the system. This is why I only race to have fun. Sure it would be great to win against these racers with endless cash, but us "budget minded" racers just do what we can. We must remember, it's a hobby racing toy cars. Nobody ever remembers who one the last race, anyways. LOL...

After you run the auto test, Can you help explain what all them values mean ? I.e rotor asymmetry, deviation etc.
@wutupclegg6618 Жыл бұрын
@@Dru180sx Hello Dru180sx. That's a great question! I'll try my best to explain it without writing a book. - End-bell Deviation: The average timing difference between the A, B, and C phase - Rotor Asymmetry: The difference in the pole strength of the North and South pole on the magnet. - Hall Signal Deviation: Refers to the difference in the magnetic strength readings of the A, B, and C phase. When reading the results, in any of the three areas mentioned above, you would look for lower numbers. The lower the number, the better the motor.
@louisedark9586 Жыл бұрын
@@wutupclegg6618 I don't understand why you have Stock class in the states. In the UK we just run modified. You can purchase a 6.5T motor for a reasonable price and it will have more power than you could possibly need. That way no one has a power advantage and you don't have to spend allot on your motor.
@andhib Жыл бұрын
@@louisedark9586 in UK we do have stock 17.5T Blinky but only for on-road touring car (also 13.5T) - on tarmac mod class is too fast for me so the stock class is more accessible. UK off-road is only modified, and the lower traction astroturf is the limiting factor especially in 2WD -so it's a stock tyre game instead.
