I believe I’m correct in saying that if this car has exactly the same transmission as the Corolla it is incorrect to use the “B” mode as mentioned in the video. The vehicle generates its regenerative braking through ordinary drive mode and B mode is primarily for going down steep hills with added engine braking. The correct use of B mode is often understood.

Exactly, it actually does not regenerate in B mode and the engine is running.

People need to understand that to get the best out of the hybrid system they need to adjust their driving style to get excellent mpg, im averaging 70 mpg have had it as high as 85 using eco mode, but in normal mode getting 70 mpg, most drivers out there accelerate hard when setting off and brake as late and as hard as possible this destroyes mpg and doesn't do the car much good, to get the best mpg in a full hybrid like the toyota/Suzuki you need to plan ahead start by accelerating steady using the hybrid indicator to keep it in eco band and once up to the speed limit lift off the accelerator and just feather the accelerator pedal to maintain speed it will now operate in full electric mode, when coming to a stop lift the accelerator pedal and break early and gently maximising regen breaking

Regarding the B mode this shouldn’t be used in normal circumstances. It is for going down hill when engine breaking is required and removes the need for using the normal brakes to slow down. It is regenerative and I have used it in Wales to very good effect.

Toyota underpinnings? The dacia stepway has Renault underpinnings, whereas the Swace is a straight up Toyota Corolla with different badges

Except for the Toyota hybrid badges 😆👍

Im dead set on a GR Corolla But Im also attracted by the same car, rebadged at a slashed price That stuck on badge though… 😮

A fair review. I have a swace base model and it does the basics very well. Once warm the hybrid really kicks in round town and according to the feed back when switching off it will do 75% EV driving in mainly 30 or some 20 mph speed limits. I won’t be looking to change anytime soon, which has to be some sort of recommendation.

Does the Swace have Predictive Efficient Drive technology like the Corolla? It’s not mentioned in Suzuki’s press release and I wonder why. Also the rear suspension is different to the Corolla. I actually prefer the Swace’s smaller infotainment screen and the different dash screen.

Why not just buy the Toyota, and enjoy the superior warranty??! I’ve seen just two on the road. It’s even got the Toyota hybrid badge on it. That makes it even worse than the old Mazda 121 that was almost identical the the Fiesta back in the 1990s. At least that used it’s own badges!! A big surprise to me was this videos lack of side by side photos of it with its Corolla counterpart. This would have showed how identical they are, from the bumper design to the dash. Kinda shows a lack of research/full consideration of things. Suzuki didn’t put a twist on the design. They changed the grille slightly, put a Suzuki logo on the steering wheel, front and rear and that was about it. I wonder if even the seat fabric is the same? The stitching around the gear lever looks very familiar. Just saying…!

The new mazda 2 is an identical toyota yaris now and no different bumpers just completely swaped badges
@markmartin328 Жыл бұрын
@@davidhealy9431 You can get a Swace quite a bit cheaper than a Corolla. Other diffences are Swace does not have built in Sat Nav and doesn't have a connect phone App. if you are not bothered about built in Sat Nav (Swace has Apple Car Play, so you can just use Google Maps, which is better than any built in Sat nav anyway) or App, Swace can save you a couple of grand. Cheers

The swace is better value. A bit. What isn't known yet is residuals - it's possible the Corolla would be better there so cost less in the long run.

I had this as a mental for about 3 weeks and I don't think I've ever hated a car more. 2024 and have to use a cable for android auto? Heated steering wheel only heats sections of the steering wheel, no petrol range display. The radar cruise control is like the worst backseat driver in the world, The speakers are awful. The screen isn't intuitive at all and they even managed to make the windscreen wipers complicated. And as for the horn, we'll that was just embarrassing, it reminded me of a squeaky clown nose, nor eve. Sure if anyone can hear it. The auto hi beams are absolutely terrible and I had to turn that feature off as it was enraging everyone else on the road. And lastly, why does the glove box take up so much room but hold so little? If I had to describe it in 1 word...annoying
