I put 30K miles on the XT, and it still looked almost new when I sold it (zero rust, nothing broke)- handled exceptionally well on the road once the suspension is set up properly.

My first ADV bike was a V-strom back in 05'. I loved that engine and stance. It is nice to see this good bike get a better! There is something special about the V-Strom!

Looking forward to a full review! Interesting bike for sure. Also, somehow the audio levels are kinda screwed in this level. Had to increase the volume to hear what clubby was saying, only to get my ear drums blown out by the music.

Having a vstrom 1000 2003 model still never opened the motor over 130000 klm and with 93 horses on the wheel. Bulletproof enjoying every ride. I don't say that it's perfect but for sure the cheapest 1000 cc you can own.

I had my first Vstrom in 2005, then second in 2007. Then I got sick and stoped for 10 years and bought a new 1000 XT in 2019. Sold it in 2022 and bought a new KTM 1290 SAS. Had it for 6 months and it got stolen end of last year. Then I saw the updated regular Vstrom, not DE and ordered right away (I dont ride of road, just Alps). Still waiting to get it, it should be in 2-3 weeks. I always loved the Vtwin sound with Akrapovic.

Till today (8 May), there is still no updates whatsoever of DE model and only XT model available. Not sure if Suzuki Au would focus on 800DE as a replacement.

I got a 650XT ride away in Sydney for 11500 not all that long ago. This looks nice, but more than double the price? Not for me.

Desert X is a baby bike compared to Vstrom. Sure it is an off road monster but all in all cant compare. I saw Ducati on EICMA in Milano in 2022 and build quality was really not on Ducati level, way worse then Multistrada. Sure they need to save weight.

@@skyworks1621 I've had a Ducati, and I've had Suzukis and there is no comparison in build quality and design. The Suzukis are just decades ahead. It's like actual humans use them and thought about it first before building them. The Ducati wins on aesthetics, but that's all.

Suzuki weren't "listening to Aussies" , Suzuki saw what Hessler and Trail de Couvert were producing over the last few years, for cost, theirs still might be the better option (using a low mileage, S/H machine)?

I think the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, currently available at $6,500 ride away. has to be the best value motorbike in Australia. That bike is a better buy than the CRF300 Rally and will become as iconic as the DR650 or WR250R. Forget the rest, the V-Strom 250 SX is the best.

I regard this bike as a corner cutting and half baked concept. WHY a TUBED front wheel ??!! - and explanation, that it gets harmed first on stones, doing hard Enduro = 🐂💩...... This is not an Enduro bike. It is an ADVENTURE bike - just like its' predesessor, but a new model, with SLIGHTLY better offroad features. So the spoked fron wheel = saving money !

The tubed front wheel makes sense in Australia. High speed damage to tyres. I've frequently blown a tubeless front in Australian conditions. I don't care about the rear so much
