LOL!! HI I am from Taiwan. This is a new military field ration (B) launched by the Army of the Republic of China in 2019. The new one is indeed more delicious and has more portions than the old one (I have also tried the old one and it was really hard to eat lol). Let me share with you the new ginger honey gummies at 10:45. There is another way to eat them. In the cold winter, you can throw them into hot water and dissolve them into hot ginger soup. Eat them with biscuits to last you through the middle of the night. (Eating it secretly of course), the old ginger candies are very unpalatable, and you will basically throw them away LOL!!
Hey right on man thanks for stopping by and giving them a look!

Man, I stumbled upon Steve's videos entirely by accident. I was in the hospital with my wife, awaiting the birth of our first son. She was finally getting some rest in the middle of the night, and I was so anxious and worried(it was a very slightly complicated birth) I couldn't sleep. One of Steve's videos popped into my recommendations. It was such a great mix of interesting and calming. I didn't sleep, but the video took my mind off of things. I knew that braised beef rice combo will put a smile on Steve face. Thats one of the thing Taiwan is famous for which is Taiwanese beef noodle soup that use similar sauce. I actually showed my relatives in Taiwan back in 2019 your first review of Taiwanese MRE, and I wonder if the army actually took note of your input and improve subsequent ones. Alot of those items see here can be found in Taiwan convienence store as well since early 90s such as dry beef packet, cookies enriched with vitamins, dessert in tube format, and various assortment of candies. Even the the beef sauce in retort pouches can be found in deluxe instant noodle soup as far as the late 80s. Such amazing treat to see you do the another updated Taiwanese MREs again!

It gives a different context when you're actually out there in the wild where these would typically be eaten. As much as I love the Phil Collins posters and They Live t-shirts, it's nice for a change. Love your stuff and you make me wish I was in the millitary at times haha. Keep being awesome, Steve. Edit: I truly wish that food like this was more readily available, especially in these uncertain times. Would make for a perfect emergency food storage option. I am sticking to storing dry food and canned food in case of a national emergency or long term blackout, but even that has a shorter shelf life than I am comfortable with.

My personal opinion: The fact that the new version of the biscuit field rations took away the caffinated beverages makes it far inferior to the old version. A cup of average hot coffee is still beats nothing when you are on the field, especially on a cold day it works wonders. Also taking away the strawberry jam, marmalade and ginger candy is a criminal offense. We should sent those who designed the new version on trial for this. The only saving grace for the new version was that they didn't dare to take away my beef jerky.

IMO, the 'chisel end' of the spoon is meant to break the rice up into smaller pieces before adding the beef component.

52:37 The way you ask who wants some raisins cracked me up. IDK what it is but it was just perfect after eating raisins all day to get another pack of raisins. 🤣

His mannerisms all together are just so unintentionally funny. Without a single doubt, my favorite KZbinr of all time.

I have misophonia and my triggering sounds are eating sounds, though i value the history of rations and find these videos entertaining. Thank you for not eating next to the mic every 5 seconds. It allows me to watch these videos at lower volume rather than mute. Thank you for the editing and effort you put into your videos. its more appreciated than you know.

Someone who claims to be triggered by eating watches food tasting videos. You couldn't make it up. Well, you could..

@@garymitchell5899 And why would I make this up? Kind of an asshole move of you to insinuate considering I've struggled with it my entire life. Best wishes gary, hopefully you are more positive in real life than online. God bless you.
