Similar to phones, car batteries also adapts after couple of drives and may give better range after sometime. I am hoping that the real world range should be around 330, which is decent for day to day drive and short highway drives as well. In terms of looks, design, features and interiors, brand has nailed it.

@kapy407 Speed, Acceleration and AC, these three factors clearly affect the range on Nexon. Also, people have to slightly change their driving style to harness the power of regen and not launch themselves into jams and clutter, instead coast with regen to stop. I am sure 350 is easy peasy with LR model, if people adapt to driving EVs. If you drive like ICE then still you will get 270-300. I have tested the range of Nexon EV Prime at various speeds 60,70,80,100. 60 for undivided roads and 70 for 4 lane highways can give the best range. Also, installing a TPMS and getting rid of stephney is a wise choice for City runabouts.

For highways regen 1 is more beneficial I think? And below 20% SoC better turn off the regen and keep a steady speeds below 40-50 if possible, range extension due to this is crazy.

Excellent video, One thing I noticed is, it is beneficial to turn off regen after entering the "turtle" mode. Regen is so intense in the lower SOC that it is like driving with brakes ON. It helps to coast and keep a steady slow speed.

Nice review😊 i am having Nexon Ev Max initially for first 2 long trips i was getting range around 290 to 300kms range without ac . Then 3rd long trip i tried with light foot driving in highways and express ways with out ac driving between 65 to 80kmhr i was getting range of 350 in that trip maintained kw/h in 109kw/h

True, given the aero of Nexon and doing speeds. 300 is respectable, but easily with patience and slightly different acceleration styles more can be achieved.

Actually, if you see. the real range will come out to be around 350 kilometres because he drove it in city mode some of the range dropped so I think easily it'll reach 340-350 kilometres real world

After 20-30 charging cycles the range will surely increase by 5-7 %. The same phenomena happens with our phones and laptops. So if this car gives 325-340 km range on a single charge, then I think it can easily be the only car for a family.

@@darthveda18 just like adaptive battery saving on our devices, modern EVs also have machine learning algorithms built in that try to maximize the range by monitoring the driving style of the driver. Although they do not make a huge difference, but surely can increase 10-15 kms with time upto a limited number of charging cycles.

Battery lead can be recycled. Also we are using too much lead acid batteries in cars! The main components or Lithium, cobalt.

about 140 wh/km on my nexon. So it will go 40000 / 134 = 298 Km/ , 4000 is the 40kw hour divide by the waat hour per km you see on the dashboard.

Without AC this car is going to be a lot more than what you got. The wh/km is about 126 in your case if it is around 110 I think it should be more than 320 kms. This is a big improvement indeed.

On those lovely highways he was driving around the speed of 70 KM/h, which is not at all practical. Even with such less speed this car got only 320 KM mileage (claimed ARAI range of 465 KM). I still think 320 KM range is not less, but practically to drive in such low speed on those world-class highways even though your car can manage the speed of 150 KM/h effortlessly will be really painful for any car enthusiastic.

And even my 10 year old Honda Brio travels in 100 KM/h effortlessly. And every now and then some modern car overtakes my car comfortably. BTW uncle you don't have to be abusive when you are giving your opinion. I know you are scared of going above 90, but not everyone!

The problem is not range. Problem is availability of fast chargers along highways. Nobody drives 300km straight. Most people take break of 30-45 minutes after 200km drive. If sufficient fast chargers are available, 60% charging can be done in 30 minutes and you can cruise at 120 kmph without having to worry about range. TATA motors has partnered with TATA Power to setup 5000 extra fast chargers in next 5 years. EV Infrastructure is being developed at a very fast rate.
