Your comment about not waiting about for the car cannot be overstated. I've done several gas-car road trips. Every single rest stop break I've made has been either 8-12 mins (restroom break) or 25-40 mins (meal break). With that behavior, a Tesla EV works as fast as a gas car minus having to pump gas - plugging in is def easier. Yes, if you're a pee-in-the-bottle road tripper, this ain't gonna work, but that's unhealthy and also unsafe (accidents rise exponentially after 3.5 hrs of continuous driving).

Agreed. Also with a gas car usually stopping at dirty gas stations - pumping then having to move the car. Receipts not printing at the pumps. I’ve traveled for work for 30 years. It’s easier on me traveling with a Tesla. I also like the planned stops. It seems to make things easier to me.

@@ByTesla237 You couldn't be more right. Gas filling is such an unpleasant experience but it's glorified as being quick. Sometimes it isn't even that quick with a line of cars.
@ByTesla2379 ай бұрын
you are absolutely right. But more importantly, 90%+ of people only road trip about 1 time a year. Meaning they can just plug in their car at home every night and it’s full every morning. They just don’t understand the time savings and confidence. It only takes seconds to plug in at home versus weekly gas station trips locally.

@bytesla what SoC do you charge your tesla when your at the house?

80% for daily and then 90-100 before a road trip.

@@dylanday9044 congrats - if you got a model 3 rear wheel drive 2023 or newer - you should charge to 100% daily but the app will show you recommendations if you try to charge to high at home. Just adjust your charging % thru the app.

@ByTesla237 I have 21 and people say lfp can charge to 100 for daily and others say 80
@ByTesla2379 ай бұрын
@@dylanday9044only the lfp batteries should be charged to 100%. Nearly all teslas are 80% daily. When you slide the charging % in the phone app - if you go above 80% it will give you a warning to charge to 80% daily. But that doesn’t show up on the LFP battery teslas. See screenshot

Not horrible but not great efficiency. That's only 3.2 miles per kWh. My 2020 M3LR with 70K miles gets 3.8 miles per kWh on average.

Agreed 100%. It could be a lot better. The fast speeds and cold weather hurt.

@@ByTesla237 yeah, there so wonderful that several of these cars started fires in the garage and if you’ve watched the news you would have seen all kinds of these junk vehicles dead from the snow storm and the very cooled weather in Chicago. Even the charging stations were down. And I don’t know how much the electric bill would be. But I’m sure it’s a lot. And to replace the battery pack, it’s like 20K. In my opinion, there junk. At least I can count on my fossil fuel vehicles to start even without electricity or in the cold.

@@72markmiesterugh another uneducated dinosaur. More iCE cars catch fire. Ie look up all the issues with kia and Hyundai alone spontaneously combusting on the road. As far as the people in Chicago, they didn’t precondition their batteries per the manual. I mean come on dude, if you want to debate bring facts not uneducated false talking points. ICE cars have their place just like EV’s

@@72markmiester Gas stations need electricity to run their pumps, and gasoline refining uses a huge amount of energy to create, along with the fuel consumed to transport the fuel to the gas stations. But hey, that doesn't fit into your logic.

@@72markmiester Since you watch the news to get your information then you'll believe anything. So why not believe that electric vehicles are better? Or at least be open minded
