All these vehicles are getting too expensive. Super happy I picked up a 2016 Ford Expedition with 30k miles and 7 year warranty for $31k about 2 years ago. Guess I am keeping it forever now with basically the same vehicle from Toyota costing more then 2x the cost. And with supply chains being screwed, pretty happy about it now as well. Good luck Toyota but honestly don't think you will meet your goal of selling 3x as many with the cost this high and gas prices over $6. You did this in 08 as well. Good timing. Lol.

We have a 2010 Ford Expedition. We now have over 220k miles on it with nothing major going wrong on it at all. We got it in 2014 for about $26k with an extended warranty. It has better functionality than this Toyota. The second and third row actually fold flat into the floor and you can put a 6' adult male in the 3rd row with knee and head room. Getting 2 back there is easy, 3 is a bit tight on width, but 3 kids in the 3rd row is easy and comfortable. I can't imagine paying 80k for a car with less functionality than our 13 year old Ford.
@rossburton47522 жыл бұрын
The cargo doesn’t make much sense to me. Good idea with the shelf but the third row not folding down to make it flat seems odd and the non sliding middle row would be difficult to use with car seats on it if others wanted to use the third row.

Haven’t been a Toyota fan for some time, but I bought a brand New 1984 Toyota SR5 2wd truck which I loved & got many miles out of. I shifted over to the Korean made products, & am on my 3rd Hyundai since 2015, and think they are outstanding vehicles. Currently own a 2019 Hyundai Tucson top-spec Ultimate trim 2wd, which I also love. But I’m really liking what Toyota/Nissan & Subaru are doing with their vehicles in terms of design, features, infotainment, & safety equipment! This Sequoia is a beautiful looking Large 7/8 pax SUV & has a similar design theme to the New Tundra pickup which was just released for sale. Has all the functionality as you featured, that one could ever want. That rear cargo management system is incredible. Luv the interior layout a lot, even though there were some litttle trim pieces not covered as you stated this was a pre-production model. Overall great New vehicle I might give a look to, but would have to have the top-spec Capstone trim if I were to purchase!…Thanks Micah!

The seats that slide forward are better for those with kids. It takes less time to slide vs flip the seat. Then there’s the car seat issue. You can’t flip the seat if a car seat is installed. The third row seats should fold in to where the cargo area would be completely flat. More head space for taller people in the third row would be great. Other than those things, it looks to be a great SUV.

Sequoia used to have automatic 4 wheel drive. (which isn't all wheel drive and it's not 4 hi) it was really nice on the hwy, especially on icy roads, and it never did me wrong on the offroad. Where 4hi would suck on icy hwy cause of wheel skipping on turns. Am I wrong? 🤷♂️ Now they changed it to 4hi like tundra and 4runner. Which kind of sucks in my opinion, because they don't got no more of that limited slip diff automatic 4wheel drive, which our family were a big fan of.. We ended up getting new f150 Lariat, Were surprisingly ford added automatic 4wheel drive as an option. (So you get 2wd, 4hi, Automatic 4wd and 4lo.) Sucks for sequoia for missing that option 😕.. @@naveenthemachine well, let’s be fair, the Sequoia as introduced is a preproduction model. Let’s see when it comes to market. My guess is for every Sequoia sold about 30 Tellurides will be sold. As gas prices skyrocket the Kia Telluride is a much more ‘practical’ choice and considering it’s also a seven to eight passenger SUV with good ‘off road’ capabilities and impressive ‘build quality’ and a great warranty. Overall though, 95% or more SUV’s never see off-roading, and the closest to off-roading the other 5% do is off-road into their ‘driveway’ at home.

Supply issues across the board for most manufacturers. So pre production model makes sense to have journalists test while fully packaged vehicles are sent to dealerships. With enough supply it would be production models the journalists would test.
@boy6382 жыл бұрын
@@d1sturb3d119 Toyota has full control to wait for production models to be ready and available for journalists to review. In other words, Toyota could delay launching this car a few months just so every car is perfect. @@boy638 And you seem to think delaying a launch does not come with it's own complication and issues. Having worked on plenty of product launches through my career, this isn't about control. @@boy638 Yes, much like many plans in life, production on this scale doesn't always go according to plan, especially given the semi conductor shortage and the follow up from Covid. Its a much harder market to hit production deadlines. Same thing has been happening in software and development programs for security applications. They're still getting to market but delays, especially when contracts are put in place, lead to fines. In this case, it isn't necessarily fines but testing schedules, launch schedules, marketing events all organized around a car being there and if they have had issues getting cars shipped over where ever the event is. So far production across the world has been affected. My company had trouble getting me a laptop with the right chip for my job. We've reached peak capitalism issues with the semi conductor shortage. Its only going to get worse.
