Honestly I think it's because there is a lack of demand for cars like this in the states. Almost everyone over there seems to prefer big trucks and/or minivans

@@Max34557 SUVs are definitely highly desirable here. In fairness though, there's a lack of available options to change that. Don't understand that, personally. I have a Golf Alltrack, and I bet I can fit more more in that than most people can fit in their small to mid-sized SUVs. It's WAY easier to get stuff on and off the roof too. Cheers!

Even though I'm a golf fan and drive for golf, but looking at what the Chinese are doing, the Golf is "not the same" now. The same NIO ET5 looks much more preferable in this price range. The quality of materials leaves much to be desired. Multimedia looks like in cheap Kia and Hyundai
