My wife ordered her Buzz the first day orders were being taken in Norway, 2022-05-23. It was manufactured 2023-01-03, and she received her yellow and white Buzz on 2023-02-13. We have driven it almost 2 000 km. Our utility trailer weighs 400 kg, and is capable of hauling a load of 1 600 kg, but the Buzz is only allowed to pull 1 000 kg. Yet, most of the time the actual mass being pulled is far below this. The other cars we have owned over the past thirty years have only allowed between 1 200 and 1 300 kg, so this is no real game changer. Our salesperson advised us against electric door openers for the sliding doors because they operate so slowly. I wondered about this, but have come to agree with him. The rear hatch is electrically operated, which is appreciated. This car was purchased with one major purpose in mind, to allow us, who are in our mid 70s, to keep driving so that we could continue to live in our house, in rural Norway, where we have lived since 1989. We have owned three other MPVs, so we knew what we were getting, despite not being able to actually sit in a Buzz when it was ordered. We like to sit up high and have a good view of the road. The dynamic speed control is also useful, even if the car accelerates somewhat faster than we are used to. Like many EV drivers, we felt the noise lever was excessive, when we first drove it with studded tires. This is a necessity in rural Norway, in the winter. Now that we have changed to summer tires, the vehicle is much quieter. For the first time in my life, I asked our local workshop to change the tires. They are so massive compared to anything else I have owned. Because of assorted hearing impairments, we do not use anything to do with sound, with the exception of listening to warning signals.

Brilliant. Are you still enjoying the Buzz? Norway is a beautiful country. I travelled all over and went to Nord Kap on my motorcycle some years ago. Working on farms in the north. Where are you?
@BrockMcLellan2 ай бұрын
@@bobadams7654 Yes, we still enjoy it, but we don't take long trips. After 571 days, we have now driven 15 258 km

You're right about the two tone. It is absolutely necessary. If they only brought the price down a bit, every dad would buy one, including me.
@jamesdavideastwood6956 Жыл бұрын
They have actually increased the price of the two tone paint a whole bunch recently. Apparently everyone was ordering two tone and it's causing delays at the factory... so I guess they are actively trying to discourage people ordering it with price rises!

I love it (I used to work for a company that restored old Beetles) and my wife loves it (unrelated to my life experiences - she had a few Beetles as her dad owned a VW Beetle repair shop) - but not at that price (or whatever the USD equivalent is).

Haha thanks Mike! I've got a few petrol-powered things lined up next I think....

My name isn't Derek, but those three lines on the top back are to mimic the air intake vents on the T2 van. Air would go in there and be channeled down to the rear engine.

The drum brakes are sealed and last a life time. As you want coloured calipers at the rear, then you'll never notice them.

Make it 15-20k cheaper and give it V2L, back windows that open, better interior and I may consider it. Otherwise the EV9 is going to be a fair competitor to this most likely, or even the Polestar 3 looks tempting.
@TimRodieDrivesStuff Жыл бұрын
You're right - this is definitely going to appeal to the style-conscious… I can't wait to drive the EV9. Looks like a bit of a beast

It looks great, but for the interior doesn't seem to fit a 60k price point. It seems about 20k overpriced to me.

Great looking vehicle but the price like most cars today is horrendous. The future of used cars looks like treasure island.

Shit’n hell! £70k to get interior quality of a Polo.
@TimRodieDrivesStuff Жыл бұрын
It's marginally better than a Polo inside. I guess there's a lot more interior than on a Polo?

Great looking car (sorry van!) but it’s the usual smoke and mirrors with VW. Price is outrageous for the performance/😅range (200 miles in reality) and they will all be piled with very expensive options, but none of that will matter to those who can afford one. It will sell out for the pose value, just don’t mention the price (did I mention the price?) 😅
@robertwest5632 Жыл бұрын
it is ubercool, respectable 3rd gen effort. volkswagon lied about mileage and they need to speak to that. the reason we pay for european is for implied integrity. i wont consider them til they convince us they are for real.

good review until you said you want a diesel one
@TimRodieDrivesStuff5 ай бұрын
Hahaha. Sorry. Can't charge at home so EVs don't work for me yet, and I do big miles so I'd rather diesel than a petrol most of the time. I realise this isn't true for everyone though!

There is no word for dinner plate as such. Teller means plate in a more general sense, so a dinner plate would be "grosser Teller" (big plate). Not very helpful - unlike your review. Well done.

VW has squandered the chance to ride on the nostalgia powered coat tails of its LEGENDARY V.W Bus. The bus, the icon of the 60’s , flower power and of 1000 Californian sunsets could have been a triumphant return to the top of the automotive tree for V.W. From the off the M.E.B platform just isn’t good enough, vw have failed to match the efficiency and power of industry leaders hoping the ‘that will do’ attitude was good enough to get by as they played EV catch up after dicking about for decades while ignoring the environmental writing on the wall regarding ev development. While the looks play hard on the nostalgia, the speed, range and price fail to do anything to justify the outrageous sticker price. Add in the software that they still can’t fix since 2019, penny pinching build quality and the self admitted fact that VW take 30 hours to make one EV compared to Teslas 10 hour per car run rate and you’ll soon start to wonder if vw will still exist in 10 years time? Things are going to get worse for V.W before they get better, or before bankruptcy.

I would go for a stelantis berlingo renault Kangoo ;-) This vw is ugly expensive and unnecessary, buy a decent van from ford for example :-)😄
