Hybrids are the WORST of both worlds because at some point the Petrol / Diesel engine is carrying a daed battery pack, or the Batteries are carrying a heavy engine, gearbox and associated components. Its just simple physics that nobody seems to talk about. Plus, why would you want to use fossil fuel to charge batteries ? Doesn't that destroy the point !

There is big difference between hybrid and plug in hybrid. Volvo offers phev which is awesome with over 35 miles of electric range. Cheap and quiet to use in urban environment. Night time electricity in uk is mainly from renewable sources (wind etc) and is also cheaper rate than day time tariff.

No, the point is to save money on gas. Who cares about fossil fuels.

Alas, I’m inclined to agree… with the same heavy heart, I’m sure. For me it’s the plain-as-day lies about labeling this blowhard of a four banger! Repeat after me - THIS IS NOT A T6! THIS IS NOT A T6! THIS IS NOT A BLOODY T6! Whew! That’ll do for now - but this is NOT a T6! Try and change my mind.

Hi, I’ve had 5 Volvo’s now. I changed from my 2018 V90 D5 3 months ago to an XC60 T8 recharge R design 2023 model. It’s been so good. Very classy, fast but superbly comfortable. Veery impressed with the whole thing.

They are doing some killer deals at the moment - if the sales promo I took advantage of is still running. I got an XC60 T8 Recharge Ultimate for less than the pre sales event price of a T6 Plus and 50% of the price on 0% over 4 years and 3 years free servicing.... The T8 is very quick acceleration, in fact more 'zip' than the Maserati Levante S that I had. Overtaking manoeuvres are very accomplished. And it's averaging best part of 50 mpg... The Levante was 20 mpg on short trips :(

I bought a phev petrol with 36 miles electric range few months ago as company car. Been using electric only most of the week and only use ice on motorways sometimes. With low cost bought electricity tariff comes out pretty cheap to run for a suv and so quiet in electric mode. Best of both worlds. If you’re going to use it a lot for urban driving then phev is best and saves money overall.

Just wish they had done a V60 estate version instead of pulling out of the estate market.

The do. I have the v60 phev 72 plate. Granted they are not doing anymore.

Chinese car with Chinese quality ....huge ,heavy car again. Battery adds weight and reduces space as does the charging cable kit. Can't see the point in it ! Regen braking is the ongoing cause of many accidents when driving in very wet conditions. If you want to do the planet a favor, keep what you have whether it be petrol, diesel or electric.
