i feel like a lot of the stuff thats been trending/will trend are very 50s in style. capri pants, boatneck tops, the cuts of coats (especially the short triangle shape-love! also wool trenches), big cuffed jeans, dark denim, pencil skirts/corpcore, buttoned-up cardigans, ballet flats. makes me wanna read beat poetry in a grungy paris night club

Love every outfit you showed. It's looking casual AND classy! I am not sure exactly when I started following you, but it's been a couple of years at least. It's interesting to see how your taste evolves...and will continue to evolve. I have always loved charcoal gray. I have a short coat that I've had for over 20 years, whew!--but it's so cool, I thrifted it so it's even older than 20 years--maybe it's from the 1960s or 70s? The tag says "Abercrombie & Fitch, made in SCOTLAND." I've tried to research whether Abercrombie originally was a Scottish brand, but ran into a dead end. It has those leather buttons that you see on trench coats and the wool is kinda "furry" not unlike the inspo you showed. My last point is that I have realized that while gray definitely flatters my skin tone, there is a certain gray that absolutely falls flat, it looks reaaallly bad on me. It's not charcoal, but a medium gray...like you see on sweats, but more cool than warm. Which is to say, if anyone tries on gray and doesn't think it looks good, keep looking bc there are a lot of different tones out there.

i’ve only recently started getting into fashion and trends whilst also trying not to own too many clothes so when i saw the charcoal grey coats and sweaters i was like ahhh i have those in my wardrobe already!! i was actually gifted the cutest balloon sleeved knit jumper a few years ago so now i’m very happy to be wearing it this winter 🤍

What I love about you is you enjoy being different. I'm the same way. In summer. I tend to go darker colors and in fall and winter I go lighter. I also prefer opposite styles if everyone is in neutrals I go flashy and vice versa. But for some odd reason I like to be pale in summer and tan in winter lmao😂 I think I prefer to be different. Idk 🤷‍♀️

Don't decide colour based on trends. There's colours that will suit you (warm/cool, bright/muted, light/deep) and others won't. If you're warm toned, don't get grey or black. If you're cool toned, don't get tan or beige

Actually if you looking into color theory/seasons anyone can wear (almost) any color! Because you can get cooler or warmer toned grey, red, green, etc. I think the only colors that are a “no-no” for certain complexions are pure black and pure white (although I would still wear white & black anyway)

OMG I got a charcoal grey short cut wool jacket last season and I love it. It’s so warm but I have some issues with styling it everyday. I feel like it would go really well with a knee-length pleated skirt and with high boots or maybe Mary Janes but I don’t own any of these 😭😭 I’ve no ideas how to style it in other ways. I feel like whenever I wear it it’s giving British corporate girlie vibes while I want to have a more comfortable and cute outfit for my everyday, uni life. I usually just wear it with a big warm navy turtleneck and high waisted jeans but, besides that, I don’t have any other options and ideas.

Lol, what? Who is saying colours can’t trend? That’s patently untrue. We see trends in colours alllll the time. We’re still in the trend of jewel tones and that particularly vibrant Kelly green and electric blue. We are also seeing dark deep browns trending. And yes, definitely red is having a moment. Just as an accent, which I love. Step into any chain fashion store and you can immediately see what colours are trending. To the point where good luck trying to find a colour that ISN’T trending in the offerings. Minimally tapered or un tapered sleeves - that’s what’s going on with the wide sleeves … interesting that we are seeing un tapered sleeves at the same time we are seeing exaggerated tapering on pants aka those carrot pants after a period of wide leg or straight leg pants and balloon sleeve or more severely tapered sleeves (on sweaters in particular). Those shorter wool coats are a nice change from the long trench. Although I am a ride or die long coat gal, it’s nice to have a mix to consider or play with.
