That was your best yearly recap to date! You made real progress that will pay off in the years to come. But you forgot one important addition to your operations: the cattle brush. A lot of destruction of fencing, water systems and buildings occur because of itchy livestock. That brush must save you hours of frustrating repair work.

I think it is debatable on whether you accomplished all you needed in 2023. That corral build definitely was an extended project because you did so much more work than planned. You learned possibly 2 new things, rice bales and spreading seed on the pasture late in the season. And you had a successful calf season with the herd looking especially well conditioned. And of course, Belli finds her forever home. So I would say…an exceptional year. Happy Holidays all the FTR family.

Not to mention your new brooder boxes, Water supply to the Bull Area, dry pad for the hog waterer, pen for chickens and turkeys, Hog area improvements. Tank repairs, your hay feeder wagon, lifting roof on short side of the barn, cleanups and cleanouts. Was the bull pen last year already??? Man, time goes fast. (Your blind calf) Wall stabilizations of Bull Pen wall. Plus, endless sprinkler repairs over at the pasture. Which has me trying to figure a way you could prevent that happening so much. That gets old!! (for you) What about a pipe bent in a U shape to hammer in the ground just a bit lower than the sprinkler head?? Wouldnt be a good scratcher for the cows, strong enough not to bend or break it, yet a good anchor for the sprinkler head?? But, a great year with giant steps!! Youre awesome!! One way to proudly look at it is, you're fixing it all the way your Grandpa "wished he could have"!!

You've done very well this year, Farmer T. Your constant hard work results in great, healthy stock, a constantly improving place and operation, and so much more...it's a joy and a wonder to see all that you accomplish. Larger ranches don't impress me as much...I don't watch any others any more, because, though they may be bigger and fancier, they just don't impress me like yours does...one guy doing it all, with dedication, smarts, and intelligent innovation and a warmth I rarely see elsewhere.
