Congratulations! What a beautiful little bull calf...glad everything has gone so well, he's healthy, and mom had an easy calving. Gives great hope for the future of your ranch, and you deserve that. Your stock are always looking healthy and well cared for...and that counts for a lot. You've got my respect, young man. And watching you rebuild this place, fabricating every structure you need....that's impressive. Most of those people who sit staring at computers all day don't know what real work is. Farmers and ranchers do know. All the best to you and your wife and babies, Farmer Tyler! Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm home again.

Dude you got some of the best angus genetics in the world in that little fella, and i mean that seriously, SAV Schaff Angus Valley, out of Bismarck/Mandan North Dakota is known around the world for their genetics. you should hop on the net some time and check them out if you haven't already. They set the world record for highest selling bull 2 or 3 years ago, i believe it was $1.2 million. Their facilities are out of this world, i've never toured their place or been to one of their sales, but 6 year ago when i was with a previous job i went by their home facility and drove by a few of their pastures. Beautiful rolling hills and black cows scattered all over. Be fun to see him grow up, he's sure to be a stud!

So right about knowing the animals. Your affective attitude is sincere. I raised all manner of animals. Some I would get attached too. I kept a couple of hundred head of sheep and become attached to an orphan lamb. A pack of dogs attacked them in the woods and killed my lamb Louie. I had named Louie after a great employee. I had a special dairy cow and would feed the cats milk from that cow. When I lost the cow. I cried. Eaglegards...

Used to be you bred a really good looking registrable cow with AI. We got a 100lb bull calf that turned into a tame beast. I'm sure some rancher bought him for breeding when we sold him. He was so tame the guy in the ring with him at the sale was trying to push him by leaning his shoulder into the bulls hind quarters. Laughter ensued.

Well, Tyler - there's obviously a lot more to breeding and raising cattle, as you are doing !! Thanks so much for going to the trouble of explaining things in detail, as you do. For a retired "city slicker" who's interested in this, it's a real treat to watch your channel and your everyday activities. I love the way you go into quite some detail, when you have to !! I look forward each day or so to "tune in", so to speak and get the lowdown from Tyler Ranch !!

WOW❣️❣️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ what a beautiful cast but equally impressive is His Daddy!!!! If he turns out anything like his father, you will have an incredible bloodline for your herd !!!!!! I have actually never seen the calf raised from this type of situation, and I’m anxious to follow along this next couple of years see just how well he does and if he supersedes his father’s size and weight or not. This is truly a wonderful opportunity for your farm, Tyler.!!!! and, as you said, a far more lucrative decision. I wish you and this baby calf the best. Your wisdom once again paid off, and mama returned to her calf..

Congratulations on the successful birth of the bull calf. Glad the cow is a good mother! Thanks for showing the biological dam and sire of the calf. I like the biological dam’s top line confirmation better than the sires but he is a good looking bull. She is a gorgeous very well put together cow! You don’t see many out there that have all of the conformationally correct qualities that she does. Wow! Hope the calf inherited the best of them both along with his dams beautiful top line. He should grow up to be a beautiful bull.

Tyler you're spot on about how cows behave when close to labor. my cows which are all tame per say will be stand offish and pick out their favorite place to give birth and will not be with herd, until they decide calf is ready for meet and greet of herd. I grab calf 2 days or 3 days after cow eases up and let's me work the calf. congratulations on your new Bull.

Congratulations FTR on the new “prized” bull calf. What an exciting time for you and the ranch. Your “junior” bull is also looking very good ! Buddy has finally grown into his potential and is looking fantastic. Must have patience to be a farmer/rancher as there is no “instant” in the industry…except those darn emergencies. Wonderful how now you can dedicate more time with the herd (after leaving your other full-time job with the state). Almost all farmers on family farms hold a full -time job to make ends meet. Most of the year, they just give them a cursory glance and drop-off the feed. Their quality of life is decent compared with the horrible so-called factory farms, especially with them being 100% grassfed. Some states allow farmers to call their herds grassfed if they just have access to a small patch of lawn and/or allowed on pasture just one day or two days a week. Crucial for the health of our planet to support products from small family farms.
