I'm a Shelby Guy. I have a 2021 Shelby GT500! Love my car but You are right! This new 2023 C8 Z06 is going to be a game changer for sure and it will be the last NA V8 high Rev track car.. Everything is Moving to Hybrid/Electric. My guess after building the spec you want and the ADM's from dealerships. That car will cost 150k. So only a few people will have access to getting this new Track Weapon. Great Content Lyle.

Guys, my post here isn't about the C8, it's about C&S. Lyle and Steve are two of the nicest, most humble, honest, and willing to help guys I've ever met. I once spent over $1,200.00 here, most of it labor. Yeah, it was a LOT of $$. But I knew going in it mighta been near 4 figures, at minimum. I do try and do most all of my own work, including pulling and replacing my own engine. But my C5 had some strange electrical problems. So I took it to C&S. Let me say I'm not a part owner, or have any personal friends or family there, although I do consider Lyle, Steve, and Ray friends. I'll tell you this: For that $1,200.00, I got every penny's worth of parts and diagnostic work. They know Corvettes EXTREMELY WELL, trust me. Just trying to give then a shout out, and looking forward to the C8 project that C&S (hopefully) will do!!

I know this much. Selling my C6Z next season and getting higher resale prices before the bubble bursts and putting that down on a C8Z is feeling tempting that’s for sure

Good podcast today sir. I enjoyed hearing what you had to say about the Z06. I am looking at a C5 but not a Z06. I will be driving the car on trips as a GT. But I wouldn't mind a Z06 for the balance and additional power. See you when you start building your C8 Z06 soon. ;)

Lyle the gt 350 motor was plagued with massive oil consumption issues! Hopefully GMs motor won't have these issues! I am pleased with my 2020 c8 corvette with optional z51 and magnetic ride control. The only time I felt like it was down on power was on the race track at Ron Fellows performance driving school.

GM have a trademark on 'Zora' here in Australia, so it will be interesting to see what car that emblem ends up on. I am betting a ZR1. Good news however, the Z06 will be sold here in Australia, GMSV have confirmed that they will be bring in a right hand drive Z06...for those with deep pockets

I'm going to wait for the dust to settle on this one a bit. Then go to the dealership where I ordered my C6Z and go from there. I'll probably do what I did with my present Z and just get the base 1LZ, in a dark gray, black interior with maybe gray accents. But, I don't yet know what standard features there will be. The only other options I'd consider is the front lift (rumors are the new Z will have this and possibly a rear lift) and Magna ride looks like it'll be standard. I have base shocks in my car and love the ride/handling compromise. My Z came with enough standards to make optional add-ons totally unnecessary for my needs.

When I signed up for the Z06 order queue Sep 2020, I was hoping that GM would really build a great track car, so I could get back to running at Road Atlanta...seems like they did! By the way I am at MSRP. The top 2 dealers in the US are at MSRP.

Another good video. I hope you are wrong about this being the last non-hybrid, non-turbo. I have ridden in a Tesla, and it did not feel fast due to the lack of exhaust and engine noise. I can’t see myself ever owning an electric or hybrid car. Electric engine in a Corvette is an abomination to me... The C8 Z06 will likely never be at a price I can afford, but it does look like a great car. I’ll keep driving my C4s and I hope to add a C5 Z06 someday.

I thought the LT6 motor was a production version of GM’s C8 racing car motor, not anything related to a Ferrari engine specifically.
@csvette3 жыл бұрын
Both are correct. The C8R engine is the basis of the LT6, but the basic architecture of the C8R engine was loosely based on the 5.5L in the 458. Lyle

It will have no effect on the super car market and here is the best example, does the sale of a Seiko effect that of a Rolex? The answer is 100% no. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and McLaren. All Rolex. The c8 Z06 is the Seiko. They will sell more Z06s, but at this point they're still not Rolex. But I'll be getting one! Cheers

There are 3000 Chevrolet dealerships in the United States. Each dealer is guaranteed at least one C8 ZO6 so that’s 3000 units right off the bat. Chevrolet will start producing these vehicles in June 2022 and probably in production till early December. Based on regular C8 stingray production numbers, they will be able to build about 9000 units in that timeframe. Most dealerships Will receive 3 units in 2022. 30% of all units Will be back on the market within weeks selling for $200,000+. We went through this with the stingray and here we go now with the Z06. Total shit show. The ZR1 will be out by the time my dealership gets to my number. There will be a lot of Disappointed people! Meanwhile, dealerships are making bundles of money on interest off of deposits. LOL

@csvette3 жыл бұрын
They reached the limit with the Z06 and exceeded the limit with the ZR1. That is my opinion, and you are welcome to your own. It is also my opinion that free information and opinions offered on KZbin should be met with intelligent commentary from a position of experience instead of insults and crude langauge. Feel free to ignore my "bullshit" in the future, and may you stub your toe on an end table. Lyle

@@csvette your opinion doesn’t mean shit. Especially when the GM engineer is on tape talking about it. You didn’t say in the video it was your “opinion “ you stated it has fact. Or do you have your own opinion on how the English language works
@mikeeagle26533 жыл бұрын
@@csvette the corvette is one car. There are different levels of the same car a base model,the Z06, the ZR1. So for you to have an opinion that they “reached their limit “ makes no sense what so ever. They limit the Z06 on purpose to offer more performance and a more expensive model it’s all about market and sales not engineering.
