I’m the guy with the 2023 ZR2 and the blown turbo. Pieces of the intake fan were missing. Still waiting for a new turbo. After watching your video, I wonder if my blow off valve wasn’t working and it built up pressure to wreck the turbo turbine? It was the intake turbine that was wrecked.

What blow off valve did you go with ? That could be a strong a strong possibility and twisted up the turbine.

Yes, you need to have a turbo on it cause I believe the 2018‘s are the V6 or the diesel

I don't know if its selective freq. response of your microphone, but the eng. sounds like it knocking or a whole cyl. is missing. I am talking about your accel. at 10:05++ mark, even a bit before it. It sounded off and what caught my ear to listen more.

I am a gm tec, I It’s the rockers that ride on the camshafts been seein them on the Silverados with the same power train. Ps: I own a Colorado trail boss and want to do this to mine! 😂

My zr2 has been in the shop 8 days so far. Hoping they figure something out. My ticking sound comes and goes. And increases with throttle. My ticking sounds louder under the truck like near trans pan.

Oh man that’s not good, sounds like that that increases with throttle can possibly be a lower end engine problem, but there is a gear that drives the transmission fluid pump that’s built into the bell housing that causes noise but that’s usually more of a humming noise.. sorry to hear you’re having so much trouble I hope they figure it out and get it fixed soon for you man!

@@joshuaduteil3210 Has any left the production run with low Trans fluid? I have had (one or twice) a LOOOONNNNGGGG delay when shifting after accel. So long in fact it seemed like it wasn't going into next gear. Coasting to a stop light, it will down stiff and hit 1st or 2nd right before you stop/stop with the break and that transition is a bit harsh, since most auto's never downshift to a compression like decell as you would with a manual. But it give me (an old man old trans expr) like its a bit low in the fluid level.

Does nothing to save your turbo .. your truck has a blow of valve stock .. you just venting making it vent to atmosphere.. that’s why you hear it .. stock it recirculates .. these do nothing .. it’s for sound only

I would agree and disagree yes all day long 99.9 % people are buying these just for the sound I mean I like the sound. but there are some benefits to running them reduce pressure in the intake system as the throttle is closed, thus preventing compressor surge. in my WRX I had to replace the turbo because of the turbine twist a couple of years ago. but again that could of been a fluke

To a short answer yes , but they have to prove that the blow off valve caused the issue . Or just save the 3 little bolts You can take it off If your getting motor work done Without filming It’s like a 5min job.
