So I just bought two of the newest version of the light, and I went all out, motion sensors, solar panels, basically all the accessories. It's clear they have changed the tripod design, at least for this model...but not necessarily for the better. The foot incorporates a small "hole" on the side to accept a "stake" but the stake simply looks like a small allen wrench, not pointed and very short. This in itself may still work, but the foot is a hard plastic that will undoubtedly break apart the first time it's put under any sort of stress, it's a very slick and brittle plastic, so brittle in fact that one of my tripods had a broken foot out of the box. I had an inop motion detector and they shipped me a new one immediately, so kudos on that, and otherwise the lights seem amazing, but I haven't seen any movement on how this foot will be repaired or replaced, but in all honest, I don't see them lasting a single camping session and feel that I'm ultimately going to have to figure out my own tripod modification to affix some sort of metal eyelet to the bottom of the foot to secure a proper stake, and then possibly a larger one to the central mast in some fashion to allow me to secure the overall light system to a solid object on my overland camper to prevent it from possibly getting quickly snatched up if I happen to be in a more populated area, sad, but precautions are a sound move with gear that's a bit pricey. great info, keep up the good work. I'd love to see any other modifications folks have made to these systems
