This car is in a bit of a no man's land for me. If I was in the market for a luxurious GT with a quarter of a million dollars and then some to spare, I would look at the Bentley Continental GT, Aston DB11, or even the BMW M8 that you can get for less than all of them. All of these come with a nice thumping V8. Not sure why would someone plonk for a V6 Maserati that costs over $250K after options with an interior that doesn't make a great impression, especially against the Bentley and Aston. Better yet, get the Lexus LC500 for even less than all the aforementioned and call it a day.

Fair for sure. I don't feel quite the same, but I can see it. I can't really speak to the Bentley or the Aston, but I've driven the M8 and the LC and they're really great cars all around, especially the LC, but neither game me the same kind of feelings I had 5 minutes into driving the GranTurismo. I think the V6 hurts it on paper, but in reality it's a phenomenal powertrain, and it drives so wonderfully overall. The interior definitely needs some work. It's so close, but the glossy black stuff is just so frustrating. The Bentley starts at $250k, while this one optioned out is around $220k and weighs1400 lbs less. I'm sure the power makes up for a lot of the weight, but I imagine it hurts it on twisty roads. It'd definitely be interesting to get a comparison.

@@GearboxCarReviews the previous GranTurismo had that incredible V8 that made it special. That soundtrack alone made it a desirable GT. This doesn't make one feel special in that regard. I'm not a huge fan of the M8 myself, though it is one of the better designed cars in BMWs lineup today. I sat in an Conti GT Speed and an Aston DB12 and they're really fantastic places to spend time in. Especially after the refresh that Aston gave its newer models. Yes, the Conti is heavier but it does an amazing job of masking that weight. And pretty much nobody is taking these heavy luxo barges to carve twisty canyon roads. A close head to head with them all would be great! :) Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I wish I had a chance to test out the older GranTurismo before this one, but the new powertrain makes more power and it's faster to 60 by more than a full second. I'm sure the sound is better with a V8, but this one still sounds pretty good. Granted, maybe doesn't sound as special, and "pretty good" isn't what you want to hear at this price point. Oh yeah, I'm sure the Aston and Bentley are much nicer inside. I've really gotta find my way into those. I've been bugging Aston, but not getting a reply. Hopefully can figure something out. You're right, most people probably aren't canyon carving these, but for those people that are, or that care a bit more about engagement and cornering, this one should win I'd think. It's crazy, but I really can't remember the last time I felt the way I did driving this car. It's truly one that needs to be driven to fully appreciate. Appreciate the kind words! Thanks! :)

3 models last gt owner here, the new gen really seems to be a stepped down for me. two main things, uglier exterior compare to maserati alfieri, then the engine my gt mc with full mods is pushing 520hp, 0-60 3.9. This v6 is only making 550hp thats really a joke. The head of sslantis ceo needs to go
