Bought one a couple of weeks ago. A great car. That color is dog shit 😂. I thought about the midnight metallic sky color but opted for white. Anytime you get into those funky colors they never stand up down the road.

Came buy the video at the right time. I am going to look at this exact truck this weekend. at a local dealership in New England at MSRP. The caveat is i may be trading in my '23 F150 Raptor. I know...why the heck would i even contemplate that? Long story short...what was affordable almost 2 years ago is get harder and harder to afford today...life does that. I am wondering if anyone has gone from the F150 Raptor into the Ranger Raptor and how that transition has gone? Thanks!
@GearboxCarReviews17 сағат бұрын
Nice! Congrats! It's a great truck. Sorry to hear about the having to give up the F150 Raptor, though. I know I've seen some people in the Ranger Raptor facebook groups talking about switching from an F150 Raptor to a Ranger Raptor. Might be worth searching some of those groups or asking in there.

Like the comments differentiating it between older and other bmw models. Supra is kinda not my knowledge base, so I was lost. 👍👍👍
@GearboxCarReviewsКүн бұрын
Thank you for the comment! I appreciate that insight. I came at this car thinking of it as being essentially a Supra underneath, and I have done a couple of Supra videos in the past, so it felt the most natural to compare it with. I'll try to think of better ways to get a full picture, compared to more cars and also just general "in a vacuum" thoughts in the future. Thanks again!

I wonder if we order it with watts link and THEN get the smaller factory size if it'd ride superior? 🤔
@GearboxCarReviewsКүн бұрын
It would probably help, yes, but it also depends on your tolerance/expectations for ride quality. It may be ok as is with just the watts-link or just the smaller wheels, so I would try to drive both first if you can. And you can get the Sport Touring with the middle-sized wheels and the Watts-Link, which may be the best bet.

I can see that a bit from the side. I think the front end looks a bit better than before, and the side view maybe loses a bit, but still looks really nice. Especially compared to the other stuff on the market.

I see some reviews with a black hood scoop, and some with the body colour. Is this an option?
@GearboxCarReviews3 күн бұрын
As far as I can tell the TRD Pro gets a black one and the TRD Sport gets a body-colored one. This particular truck being pre-production, a number of pieces were the wrong color, so I'm guessing that's why the scoop was black.

I really liked this car since it came out. The only thing I hated was the infotainment area so last year I bought a different car. Then, this year they updated it and I was like, “ah man, should have waited”
@GearboxCarReviews3 күн бұрын
Eh, cars are always changing and hindsight is 20/20 and all that. It's tough to predict what's going to change, but chances are there's always going to be some change that makes you want the next one. I don't remember the previous infotainment too well, but I think I'd still take it over the update, just because I can't stand the giant screen across the whole dash. What did you end up buying?
@drplando143 күн бұрын
@@GearboxCarReviews the old infotainment borrowed too much from Chevy so it felt like a glorified version of that. I ended up buying a Jaguar
@GearboxCarReviews3 күн бұрын
@drplando14 that's fair, but it's always gonna share a lot with Chevy. The new infotainment matches the new Chevy infotainment pretty closely as well. The Jaguar is probably more interesting to drive I imagine as well though.
@drplando143 күн бұрын
@@GearboxCarReviews thanks. Actually I am not a fan of my Jaguar. Brakes are very touchy and inconsistent. Very choppy when I go from 0-20 and there is something wrong with the steering because I can’t keep a straight line. I take it to the dealership for them to check but they say its fine and the breaks are just made that way. When you break, it feels like you are doing a break check on someone. I had a 2011 Saab 9-5 before but it was getting harder to get parts for it which is why I sold it and got the Jag. However, it was a great car w 150k miles without any problems. I’ll keep the jag for a few years and probably trade it in for either a used ct4 or ct5. You did a great review of the ct5. Very informative

Does anyone know the max charging speed of the Equinox, my EV6 can charge up to 11.2 kw of power. 35 miles of range power hour sounds like 6.4 kw? Thats what my 3 Leafs used to charge at with a Leviton 32 amp charger, now have an Emporia 48 amp charger hardwired with Wirenco 6/2 metal clad wire...😎
@GearboxCarReviews4 күн бұрын
It looks like it tops out at 11.5 kW. If you go to "build and buy" on the chevy site and hit the "View All Features" on the right hand side of any of the trims and expand "mechanical" it shows all of the charging info there.

I have a 2024 Durango SRT 392 AWD and LOVE it! My last vehicle before this was a 2022 Chalkenger 392 Scat Pack Widebody, and I think that the Durango handles BETTER [not as wide and unwieldy] , is QUICKER 0-60 [AWD - spinnin' (tires) ain't winnin'), quicker in the quarter [it LEAPS off the line], sounds the SAME, is far more practical, and is far LESS noticed by the cops, yet perforns just aa well, if not better. It also has LOWER insurance rates and is a TRUE SRT model, not just a Challenger with the supposed SRT brake package on it and nothing else. Because of this, it seens more intrgrated. It's a winner on the track (allegedly), too, where it beat Audi RS7's, Charger Scat Pack, and a few others. It allegedly SMOKES the R/T Durango on the street or highway. It's AMAZING what a difference 110 extra HP and lots more torque makes. Many videos on the car state it's a BMW X6 M hunter. It sounds GREAT with the performance exhaust, which changes depending on the mode you're in. The ONLY difference between the Hellcat Durango and the SRT 392 one is the wheel DESIGN (both 20×10 forged), engine (duh), and badging. Everything else is the same. So, if you wanna spend $25K MORE for the Hellcat - for power that can rarely be used on the street -go ahead. I'm hapoy with the 392. 0-60 in 4.1, 12.4 qtr, 170 mph top end. Yes, the Hellcat is faster but someone else will always have something to beat you, no matter what you're driving. The Tesla Plaid is one example. Sure, it's rare, but you know what I mean. Somewhere, someone will smoke you. Yes, the HC Durango is a 11.1 sec qtr mi blaster, but there are 10 sec diesel trucks and others on the strret. But- 11.1? Wow, that's quick. Great video. Buy the 392 Durango SRT. It's more USABLE power.
@Valentina-gf6vy4 күн бұрын
I have a 2024 392 and also love it ! This was an awesome video! Looking at the Hellcat is always cool, but like you, I just could not justify 100,000+ especially for a car I was going to drive on an everyday basis. Not to mention the theft potential for the Hellcats vehicles are higher. A base Hellcat(under 100,00K) should have all of the bells and whistles of a premium level 392, but that is not the case. You have to get a plus or premium level Hellcat to get things like adaptive cruise, full speed stop ect. That makes no sense for the consumer, but for Stellantis that means more money. Unfortunately that means inventory will stick around way longer.
@GearboxCarReviews3 күн бұрын
Glad you liked the video! Yeah, it's tough to justify that extra money for the engine and the features. If I was stuck choosing between the 392 with the features and a Hellcat without them, for a daily driver like this, I'd pick the 392 too. It's not like the 392 is lacking in power. I'm sure it's still a blast to drive.

If anyone here has a line into BMW, please tell them to offer the manual with the Aluminum tetragon or aluminum mesh interior trim as well as (or instead of) the gloss black. In your video, you can see how crappy the interior looks with all that dirt and dust visible. I want to order one of these ($74k seems reasonable for what you're getting), but the interior trim is probably a deal breaker ( that and that the BMW Individual - "paint to order" option isn't available on this car) OK...and maybe offer the M3/4 wheels too. ;-)

Yeah, I wish there were more base models available. I've had a couple of cars that were either base or close to it, including the Equinox EV, which is always a pleasant surprise. On the other hand though, it's easier to take the loaded out one and say that certain features are or aren't worth the money than it is to take a base and just guess at whether or not the features might be worth it.

I don't think I did. I even said at the end that it's a lot of little things. Most cars don't have so many naggy little things, not major things, and for $40k I'd be frustrated about them. The XSE in hybrid form is $35,000 with the S about $30,000. Good reliable power train. The AWD system is lacking with min power to the rear wheels. Where I live 150 inches of snow per year Subaru or Jeeps AWD make more sense. The CC is a good option for budget minded people who don't mind a no frills interior. Great review.
@GearboxCarReviews11 күн бұрын
Yeah, once you add destination and options and such, it's closer to $35k. Good call on that. And agreed, the AWD system isn't the one you want if you're going on trails or dealing with bad snowfall often. It's really just to help with slippage here and there and to help balance you through corners a little bit better than if it were just FWD. Thanks for the comment and the kind words!

I own a Bolt EUV and love it. I would consider switching up to the Equinox EV but really don’t want to have a Google ecosystem in the nav and infotainment. I just don’t trust that google will not sell all of my info to the highest bidder. I made a choice to be in the Apple ecosystem because they at least profess to prioritize my privacy so GM dropping Car Play makes no sense to me. There is a proven technology that users like and allows them to integrate with the way they already like to do things and GM decides they know better and do not even give us the option. For now I will stick with my excellent Bolt that does have Car Play and works perfectly. The Bolt is an amazing car and I am sure the Equinox is too so if Car Play/Android Auto aren’t important to you, I’m sure the Equinox is a great option.
@GearboxCarReviews11 күн бұрын
Yeah, as a Google/Android user, it's a pretty easy switch, but they're definitely alienating the Apple users a bit here. I feel like they're going to find that out in a big way pretty quickly. I know Volvo went through this and eventually added CarPlay in, so hopefully GM figures that out as well. Glad you're loving your Bolt EUV! Great car!
