I appreciate how much effort you put into your videos. I get tired of watching YT channels recycle the same draft takes over and over again and clearly not doing their own research. Keep it up, I’m always excited to see a new video from you.

Spacing will be a nightmare, but I’m hoping we get to see Holland and Ausar on the floor together

🤦🏾♂️ You obviously aren’t actually following the team, the shooting has been solved. This team needs Defense and that’s why Holland will get plenty of minutes.

you mentioned him at the end but i think jamal shead has a real shot at 2nd team. the raptors backup pg rn is davion mitchell and he hasn't exactly looked great so i wouldn't be shocked if shead got a lot of playing time starting in december or january. incredible defender, good ball handler/passer, the shot has been decent and hes even had some tough finishes thru contact.

Man, I’m eating so much crow on Edey. He has way more twitch for his size than I thought he would.
@johndavis93212 ай бұрын
I always said the fears about edey being to slow footed for the modern game were overly exaggerated he moves way better and is much more fluid than he's given credit for remains to be seen how it's gonna look in the regular season when the games count but he has shown himself so far to be solid defensively

@Jon-BEDM2 ай бұрын
He’s been gassed. Hard to imagine him getting enough minutes to make an all defensive NBA team for a couple years. That’s the right development path - young bigs his size have to develop their conditioning with some patience.
@therockneverstops82612 ай бұрын
Ron Holland should be starting for the Detroit Pistons. His ability to defend on the perimeter, make effort plays, bring toughness, get out in transition, and attack in straight line drives to the rim is something that is sorely needed on the perimeter for this team. With Ausar Thompson out they will need Holland more than ever.

Pelle Larson has been solid for the Heat in preseason and summer league wouldn’t surprise me if he makes the rotation sooner than Ware and is on this list
@Davivd22 ай бұрын
Zach Eddey is fools gold. Yes he looks great when you post him up. If Hakeem Olajuwon wasn't in the league, and Eddey got drafted to the Houston Rockets in 1994, he would be the ROTY and an all star. The thing is, it's 2024 and Jah Morant exists. Before the suspension, Morant was 4th in the league in usage rate. That's not going to change this season and I can't see a guy with a usage rate that high, sitting on the perimeter doing nothing while a rookie is posting up, clogging up his lane, and limiting his effectiveness. I've seen Eddy play 3 games so far. Every basket he's made has been in the dunker spot on a drop off pass or from a post touch. I've not seen him score a single basket in the pick and roll, which are the ONLY touches he will get with Jah Morant on the floor. Don't confuse opportunity with playing time. Eddey will have plenty of playing time, but opportunities to play the style that he excels in will be few and far between. My money is on Reed Shepard. Just because he's the most talented rookie that I've seen. I think that Houston creates opportunities for him by the mid way point in the season.
@maxoppenhuis49862 ай бұрын
He probably will only be posting up on mismatches, but he is a great screener and a good play finisher around the basket, which he will get to do plenty. Morant will give him a ton of drop off passes. He also provides a lot of value as a rebounder and defender. A guy like Shepard doesn’t have as clear a path to minutes and a role. Behind VanVleet, Green, and Amen, he probably won’t be getting over 20 minutes a game. Even if he is a solid, impactful role player, he isn’t a high volume scorer or creator, so it is hard for me to see him winning ROTY.
@williamwoods96692 ай бұрын
@@maxoppenhuis4986Reed is already the back up pg and with the recent game against the spurs being a indicator of how the rotation will be starting off, he’s going to get at least 20 for sure. Ime has no problem playing a smaller backcourt so we’ll even see him play with Fred during periods in the game
@williamwoods96692 ай бұрын
@@maxoppenhuis4986amen is also a forward at this point. He’s not good enough yet to play point and consistently initiate the offense like Reed is
@maxoppenhuis49862 ай бұрын
@@williamwoods9669 you’re saying he’ll play at least 20 minutes a game bc he played exactly 20 minutes in a game where none of the starters played as many minutes as usual. When vanvleet hasn’t played in the preseason, Amen started at point guard, so the coaching staff deciding the rotations doesn’t agree with you. Here’s an approximate guess at the minutes I have based loosely on last years rotation and expectations for this year: Vanvleet 34 Şengün:33 Green 33 Smith 32 Brooks 28 Thompson 23 Adams 15 Eason 14 Sheppard 14 Whitmore 14 That uses up all 240 available minutes in a game. There’s quite a few guys here who have a case for more minutes here, not just Sheppard. Plus this doesn’t include Jeff green who may get minutes. Most of reed’s minutes will be backup pg minutes, but vanvleet averaged almost 37 minutes per game last year, leaving 11 backup pg minutes. 20 minutes per game just doesn’t seem realistic to me unless multiple guys are out

Don't sleep on Miami Heat's Kel'el Ware, and there's a conservative effort to move them to PF with Haslem and Bam Adebayo calling Kel'el Ware Miami Heat's "Best Center" 😴
@maxoppenhuis49862 ай бұрын
Based on the preseason the heat aren’t going in that direction. I don’t think they even tried playing those two together in meaningless preseason games where they are free to experiment. Plus, they seem to still be using Kevin Love their backup center as a small ball 5, so as of the start of the season Ware isn’t in the rotation.
@raviray45182 ай бұрын
@@maxoppenhuis4986 if you know Erik Spoelstra He doesn't do what most conventional coaches which is an experiment in the "meaningless" preseason. He sees them as "meaningful" in the sense that he use it to get his early rotation set and increases their minutes through each preseason game so you'll see like 14 in the first game maybe 16 in the second game, 17 to 21 in the third then 23-25 minutes in the fourth and finally in the fifth he'll usually sit out a few players to get more expended look at certain players like the veterans and have more of the young guys in two ways playing. Now in some of those preseason games certain players make it extended run in their minutes go to how they're playing or what they're trying to see. An example of that would be like a 2019-20 season when Kendrick Nunn exploded for 40 points in the final preseason game against James Harden and the Houston Rockets. So yeah that's rarely something that Erik Spoelstra would pull out during the preseason if not ever. You're more likely to catch them doing this around mid December to mid January. Spoelstra Will probably have him play spot minutes like 5 to 6 minutes in each of the second and third quarter if not already have him as a primary back up and have Kevin Love as a primary backup for the power forward and third center. Then you may see minutes with Ware and Kevin love both on the court and then match up dependent you'll see Kel'el Ware and Bam on the same court. maybe eventually you'll see it as a permanent situation if successful. Injuries can always expedite that happening.
