Consider why I quit MP - I looked at Takara MP and reasoned like this: we're now twelve years into MP collecting (taking MP Lambor as the point where MP stopped being one-off special products and became a scale at which to collect) and they haven't even finished the '84 car-bots. They're one-sixth done with minibots. I was just considering the big price hike for their third BW MP and I thought to myself 'I'm never gonna get a Terrorsaur'. Now obviously the presence of other 3Ps in the MP game gets you closer to completion but I'm just not sure that completism is achievable in MP scale. To be fair, I'm a CHUG guy who ended up collecting MP kinda by accident so I have some bias, but... CHUG has already achieved the level of completion that MP collectors are chasing and it's not unreasonable to envisage that CHUG will complete everything except Pretenders and Micromasters. Moreover, this level of completeness has been achieved largely without needing 3Ps - out of several hundred figures on my main CHUG shelf, there are only 10 3P figures and I am 20 figures short of S1-4 completion (of which, only 9 have not been released in CHUG form; one of whom is known to be coming next year)

Yeah Takara MP's are very very funny with how they do them. the Beast Wars line should have been split and done by itself and they should have been putting out 6 figures a year for MP personally to finish the main 84 line off, but then we got reformatted line with Power Master Prime and i honestly dont think they are gonna finish any line at all.

@@collectorsalmanac exactly. 3Ps will increase the 'radius' of characters you might get but not completely, imo.

Magic Square doing MP Lord Of War aka Bruticus. Affordable and with the best proportions finally a huge head on a combiner. Plus not a crazy amount of die-cast and lock in arms so not having to hold joints to move arms unlike FT!

I guarenteed you Magic Squares MP LORD OF WAR will be the best proportioned tallest combiner yet. MS giving us the best combiners keep your FT's as individual bots bc they suck to move combined with the overdone die-cast. Takara inconsistent with scale as they messed up with MP-08 Grimlock and they got it perfect with MP-57 SKYFIRE who has better proportions than the taller FT PHOENIX who's head is smaller. MAGIC SQUARE WILL GIVE US THE HUGE HEADS WE WANT ON COMBINERS, TIRED OF THE TINY FUCKING HEADS AND BAD PROPORTIONS!

I'd agree with Bobby here. Now, contrary to him, I rarely bought so many figires in one year, but most of it was non-Transformers stuff. Rather, it's been a banner year for figures of franchises I'd never even dare to dream I would ever get, such as Fire And Ice, Sectaurs, Ramen Toy's MASK vehicles or third party Saint Seiya Myth Cloths. Now if only someone would make some new Neverending Story or Ulysses 31 figures, I can retire in peace.

This was a great year for action figures, transforming action figures, model kits, statues and figurines: Hero Toys/Memory Toys/Memy toyz, BroToys, Moshow, CangDao, Fury Toys, Notaa, Chaos Studio, Keepgoing, Romankey, Nightmare Studio, Beautiful Chemistry, Gong, Mithril Action, Sigma Studio, LingJiHun, Axtoys, Tunshi Studio, Snail Shell, Fog Toys, Maestro Union, JoyToy, HeatBoys, Threezero, Storm Toys, Neca, Mezco, Jada, Diamond Select, Mondo, Mattel, Boss fight Studios, Hasbro, Medicom, Bandai, Max Factory, Kaiodo, Sentinel, 1000Toys, Executive Replicas, loose Collectors, Lone Coconut, Spero Studios, Fans Toys, X-Transbots, MMC, Planet X, DreamStar Toys, CangToys, New Age, Magic Square, Dr. Wu, etc!!! (I decided not to go into the model kit, the statue and the figurine companies it's more then enough as it is!!!) In the end it's a very good year, in fact it's an amazing age to be a AF, TFAF, MK, ST and FG collector but at the same time a bit overwhelming in so many ways. So many good companies, so many good lines, so many good releases, so many space, so much money... If you only bought one of each one of the companies mentioned above you bought 51 figures, I haven't mentioned all the good companies and a single one of the model kit, statue or figurine companies (Bandai releases everything and has at least 2 subsidiaries but I was just counting their regular action figures). P.S. Even the trading figures where amazing this year... have you looked at the Auldey Transformers Alpha Action Elite or the 52Toys Crayon Shin-Chan wind-up blind box trading figures?
