can't see why we would bid on Ashcroft at 1 tbh likely handshake agreement with the Lions aside - basically tells the world that while we have the top pick but we fancy a kid playing his footy at a rival club. Rather the prestige and confidence boost go to whoever we end up taking at 1 than a rival player. This is the start of a rebuild, need to sell hope and optimism to the supporter base and you don't do that by publicly revealing we're settling for the second best prospect in the crop

If the Tigers can take Sam Lalor, Harvey Langford, Murphy Reid, Taj Hotton, and then Jobe Shanahan/Jonty Faull, and Alex Dodson, I would be pretty happy with that. Probably could pick up a medium defender, or Luke Trainor with a later pick if he were to slide that far. But I think the Tiges would be desperate to get some speed and skill with the ball in the midfield, and some more scoring options forward.

Not a fan of the Shanahan pick. I say focus on talent rather than need at this point: Hotton over Shanahan.

Richmond WILL NOT gift a bloke $10,000 (the pick one bonus) who will play for an oppo team. NO WAY. The money from the AFL causes the integrity issue. Scrap it. Then all bets are off. What a stupid suggestion to pick a bloke you know will not play for you. FFS!!!!! And, why Lalor? Why not Draper? This is just echo chamber claptrap.

I agree with u in the first part lalor is a must ,Lalor is a midfielder half forward he tackles kicks goals and is quick , Draper is from Adelaide he can play 4-5 yrs and will leave havent u seen Bolton and Baker and others

At this stage of the rebuild they don't necessarily have to go best available. Especially when you consider they have LDU, Wardlaw, Sheezel and Mckercher as all elite midfielder propsects.

I'd go Smith, then Langford at 6 before Smilie - Smilie might even slide to our third pick (though probs unlikely).

Saints trade pick 8 and future first (based on this years standing, lets say that its Pick 7 2025) for North Melbournes Pick 2 of this years draft, essentiallly pick 8, and pick 7 2025 for Pick 2. Saints will have Pick 2 and 7 and North will have Pick 8 for Alix Tauru

absolutely not, ridiculos suggestion moving up 5 spots, by trading away next years 1st rounder. If the player we want is gone by our second turn, maybe trade it to GWS for their 15 and 16. Wilson was a pick around that spot, so I'd rather do that, than trying to get pick 2.

If no one comes to North with a decent trade proposal, then I would take FOS and stuff both Carlton and Adelaide up. And either Richmond or St Kilda miss out on their expected topline midfielders.

Nothing Dumb about it chief. In a even draft choc a bloke full of depth, North taking Tauru at pick 2 backs in their man to not only select but facilitate needs basis.

@@scottnewett8482guessing your bad at ya tipping then? 😂 North supporter myself too and for how even and the level of depth this draft is, no way is it a reach. Especially for where North is at in the rebuild. We've draft Midfielder after Midfielder for the past 8yrs and now we're in a justified position to take a key position player with a first round pick. Tauru is very much worth that pick for what North is about. And much like GWS taking Cadman at pick 1, it's not about the PVI it's about the value of rating a player so much you know full well he's the one that's going to change things for North. Ticks every box Tauru and then some.
