The best retro since the 99s shapewise. But still the proportions of the ogs are unmatched. Retros today looks more like plastic toy figures..stiff and wonky in some places. Ogs were really created after the human foot, soft and flexible with intentions of goin straight to feet then court 💥

I just picked up a pair yesterday. Sitting in a consignment store for a really good price, or maybe they were just write a retail. I can’t remember. I came to your video to see the comparison, and the original still is unmatched. That slope or aerodynamic as you called it, is unmatched. But I will say these do look pretty good, the slope on them is the best I’ve seen, and this is the best shape I’ve seen since the original. So I’m happy with the purchase even a year later.

Got 2 pairs and I can say that there are some shape differences one of my pairs has a short stubby toe box like the fire reds and my other pair has a longer sleek toe box similar to the 89s

Good stuff man. my first ever pair of Jordans was the Military Blues back in junior high. I bought a pair in '06. They were meh. Tought a pair in '12. They were worse. HAD to buy the new ones. so far, I think they are pretty decent. the only thing (and I know all sneaker heads know this). They're lacking in the comfort department for the bottom of your feet. The OGs...most certainly WERE comfy. I replaced the insoles and boom, instantly more comfortable. Dig your content man. I'd love to see Nike re-release the Air Flight 89 or 90 high again or the Air Force 5 mid...loved those as well.

@GeoffSweet thanks for watching! Yeah, I agree on comfort with all my jordans I pretty much put in better insoles. They don't make them like they used to from materials to build and comfort. At least some improvement on this release, still far off the OG

If judging by having to pass 06 & 2012 then I couldn’t be happier with these. What I will say for sure. Is this retro fight a lot of unnecessary negative hyperbole.

@@ogorbust1697 I couldn’t agree more about the price , and I’m gonna tell you the truth, bro if I didn’t live in Pennsylvania where there’s no tax, I’m not sure I would be willing to pay that 235 that’s just a little too steep when you start breaking 230 to 25 even. The fire Reds were $200 in 2020 & I thought 190/200 OG was still high but it was relatively fair in comparison to you know if you think of the 2016 true blue 3s were 225 the 2015 maroon six was 220. They sat right ?!? Nike was forced to lower the price. We need to see that again we all understand the concept of inflation, but we also gotta understand the concept of recession.

After seeing these compared to the OG, the shape is definitely improved but not the exact “OG cut.” Still love my pair nonetheless because it’s my favorite color way behind the White Cement, now we need Nike to work on the 5’s and 6’s shape. 5’s need a complete overhaul 😅 Love your in depth analysis man 🔥

Finally! I've been waiting for you to do a review on these, and wanted your thoughts. I was hoping you had the original Military Blue 4s. Heres what I dont like: Three different shades of blue (heel tabs, midsole and eyelets) The shade of vlue is up for debate, as Ive seen old pictures going both ways. The off white blue-ish or gray uppers. The shade of gray on the wing. At this point theyr could of just called them reimagined. Also, the price sucks, and the leather quality is just meh. Just my .02 cents. Id be happy to hear more of your thoughts..

I think the blue looks pretty close on midsole, again different lighting on photo references etc could change. That's why in hand is always the best. Solid retro though, had to get a pair but I agree on leather and price point.. had to mention in video too kinda ridiculous lol

I'm not sure why JB insists on having a lower cut in the back with a higher back tab. Those back tabs rub against my Achilles when I don't wear high(er) socks and it's quite bothersome. That's my biggest gripe with these retro's!

Shape wise i like the 2024 military blues its slope goes all the way down at that slant. The OGs slope as well but not how the retro is. Ppl just got this belief that everything OG is great and its not. I never liked the extra long netting going down to the toebox, the big ass mesh panel where the material bends and looks wiggly and loose the retros look better. The retros looks more plush on the netting making it look more intact. The 2012 and 2024 were good solid built military 4s when they released but i remembered the 2012s getting so much hate and ppl trashing it talking bout the quality when they had some of the softest and plush materials on it. Also and im from that era but OGs could use some redefining on some of these shapes, all the OG builds arent perfect.

7:02 The wings are angled too far forward. I think that's what causes all the problems with the shape, forces the side netting to be too small, the lace holes start more forward and end too high, which causes that hump on the front plastic tabs. Everything mid-foot and forward is all crammed. OGs look sleek. Retros still look like boats. Real shame.

Damn, didn’t notice that until you mentioned it. That’s what happens when they tweak the shoe instead of doing a full recraft. It’s so many things wrong with the current retro, but some will claim they are the closest to the 1989 originals. I strongly disagree as the 1999 retros are still the closest.
