Audi's etc. Always a smile on the face (just ignore the fuel economy!) - it was bought for the smiles per miles, not the miles per gallon 👍👍

I wish we could make the point that literally none of the competitors are going to be any more reliable than the Giulia. At least not the Caddy, BMW benz or Audi that you mention. The IS of course will be. The real issue with this car is the support network... Do you have a dealership or mechanic that can work on it? If so then absolutely buy this car! I have had 2 (2.0s) and they have both been great.
@chrisburry81472 ай бұрын
Part of reliability is available of parts and down time (not just the failure point). I have a 2024 M3 an have had two Audi RS5's and all have been "reliable" - Chalk it up to minor issues being resolved in a quick visit to the dealer vs the QV where it may sit at a dealership for weeks waiting on parts for a minor repair. As much as I like the QV, it's a big part of the reason I didn't spring for one (that and the terrible infotainment).
@ryanm.36812 ай бұрын
@chrisburry8147 Many people have had zero issues with their QVs and 2.0t Alfas. If you are going to try and represent a BMW as reliable then your just a dishonest actor. I am absolutely NOT try to say Alfas should be considered reliable. My point is all you hear on the internet is about how you shouldn't get an Alfa because reliability get a BMW instead.. Thats hilarious. All cars have problems. Toyota just recalled 102k cars to replace their defective engines. The unreliability talking point against Alfa Romeo is all hype. As I stated, if you have a dealer or mechanic close enough to you and this is the car you want then you should absolutely buy one and enjoy it. It will break. So will the Cadillac and BMW and any European counterpart.
@chrisburry81472 ай бұрын
@@ryanm.3681 first off I did put "reliable" in quotes for a reason. None of these brands are known for their impeccable reliability. That being said, all you have to do is take a look at JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc to see that BMW is definitely scoring higher than Alfa (take that however you want). I've had my M3 and several RS5s for many years with no issues (and previous Audi's and BMWs as well). My point was that not having availability of parts or dealership service networks impacts reliability as well...sure you can go to indy shops but part availability is still an issue.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio is such a magnificent car, but it's a tough sell in the current market, and especially the Canadian market. High performance sports sedans are already a tough sell, let alone a rear wheel drive one in our climate and not so well paved roads in eastern Canada. It's really sad because the Giulia Quadrifoglio IMO has the most soul out of the current European offerings (RS5, M3, C63).

I owned one 2.0T for 3 years and nothing had happened to me. The only gripe I had was, in area I live, there is no dedicated service center for this. You send your car for service to the same shop as the Fiat, Jeep, Dodge and Crysler. Where I see the same guy who service a fiat for $90 oil change, but it cost me $300 to do the same job.. I was debating about keeping one of our car (outback or Guila) at the end of the lease and get a new one. We ended up returning this due to a few factors: the upkeeping cost will likely and high due to parts and service down the road, No matter how good the Guilia was, you can't beat an outback on reliability.

I sold them and Fiats for a while when Alfa recently returned to Canada. We had issues with pretty much every vehicle that was sold. Owners were initially enthusiastic, but that soon turned into buyer's remorse. Service issues due to poor build quality and lack of parts availability were the biggest issues. That entertainment system was not top quality when the car was released. Even worse is the hit these owners will have to take at trade in time. I had Giulia Veloce 210hp since 2017 (diesel), in 4y no any single issue, switched to bmw g20 340ix (nice car, nice power, but steering wheel feeling is awful in comparison with Giulia, any Giulia). In short, I did order new Giulia Quadrifoglio (Montreal green), expecting delivery Sep/Oct 2024. Coming back to Alfa Romeo, from BMW. In Europe this car is coming with 520hp. Major benefit over previous version is lsd differential (TV wasn’t the best solution). Very the same diff you can find in GTA and GTAm models. Pros: drivers car capable for daily, like in my case, will be major daily car. Cons (only two for me): 1. Sport exhaust you can open only and only in Race mode, when also traction is off (stupid, since this was the reason lots of broken Giulia Quadrifoglio’s). Why Dynamic mode (while TC is ON) doesn’t support this or simply on/off button like in Porsche? 2. Missing wireless connectivity for AutoConnect, useful for daily car. Reliability will not comment, owned 9 different Alfa’s (even FiatAlfa’s with fwd) and never an issue. Recipe, change engine oil no longer than 15.000km (despite factory recommendations) or once per year (what comes first). Don’t push engine until oil is not at the working temperature. And if you push turbo engine car, give him a time to cool down, don’t just switch off engine. Simple rules referring all cars. Petrolheads will understand 😊👍

Maybe I missed it, but you should mention it was designed by a bunch of ex Ferrari Engineers, and has what is essentially a Ferrari derived engine... for those that know...hands down beats the M3 in every possible way except (recently) performance numbers.

@@lightenergyfractoid5675 every possible way except performance numbers?? Lol isn't that the point of these cars?
@lightenergyfractoid56752 ай бұрын
@@chrisburry8147 you say “these cars”. I guess I don’t look at them as a group, I value the overall “feel”. It feels much more special. If you’re ticking boxes you could nitpick the dated interior or some reliability aspects. Overall though, it’s a living legend.

@@lightenergyfractoid5675 to each their own. I value the entire experience, which is why I went with the M3 (after owning 2 RS5's). Not to mention that unfortunately the RWD nature of the QV doesn't work for me in our Canadian climate even though I have an Audi Q7 as well.

@@chrisburry8147the Alfa still outperforms the M3 in RWD form. Power output is the same as the M3 comp. Only the xdrive is faster. But I drove a few M3s and was completely bored. If driving engagement is the priority the Alfa is where it’s at. I also don’t understand why people think they need AWD for a performance car. With good winters the Giulia is totally fine. It’ll punish you any time of year if you drive like a boy racer, but that’s the point. It’s a real driver’s car, not a video game.

@@AP-cc1uw the RWD is faster than the QV. Plenty of comparisons online. Besides mine is AWD and will beat the QV even if I put it in RWD mode (the nice thing about the G80 M3).

I own a 1988 AR Milano Verde, it has the green 4 leaf clover on it. Great drivers car but sketchy reliability. If the Guila QV had the Manual trans it would likely be in my driveway. Otherwise I really like my (blue) 2017 BMW M240i MT, my 2023 Camaro SS MT convertible and my 2004 (Holden) GTO MT

15:07 The brake lights doubling as the turn signals are unacceptable. The brakes and turn signals are supposed to be separate lights and turn signals are amber, period. Why do all the Euro brands completely ruin the taillights on USDM vehicles?
@nessuno54032 ай бұрын
Blind? The lights on the bootlid function only as brake lights. And blame dumb US homologation standards otherwise.

I’m fortunate enough to live across the street from a Maserati/alfa Romeo dealership in Ottawa. I see them everyday but to me there’s no wow factor about them. I’ve always thought of alfa Romeo as having way over priced vehicles. My advice buy a bmw m3 competition xdrive instead On a side note that same dealership has a couple of Maserati mc20’s in there Don’t even get me started on those 😂 Do yourselves a favour Get a Lamborghini Huracan technica instead

why I opted for the Stelvio QV in 2022, as my daily driver in Canada....soul, power, and traction. Parts and service have been stellar in the Toronto area and no issues. (The M3 is a great choice too)

@@vincefava7929 I'm in Toronto as well but just didn't want to deal with any delays IF I did have service issues. I would have went for the Stelvio but I already have an SUV (Audi Q7). The M3 seemed like the good choice for me, but all these cars are pretty awesome (I had two Audi RS5's previously and everyone knocks them...probably people who haven't driven one).
