I am hearing that Lake Eufala is one tough lake. Your great Day 1 and 31st finish does keep your goal attainable. Can't wait to see how you do next tournament. Gonna be outstanding! Thanks for the video. 👊

I don't know if you got to see the final weigh-in with Fothergill, but he seemed genuinely dumbfounded he caught what he caught for three days to win. He probably heard a lot of stories saw what happened to the weights on Day 2 and was surprised his fish held up. Tough lake. Keep positive and let the chips fall where they may. You can do it!
@moynaghbassfishes38183 ай бұрын
Yes, I watched. I got a similar vibe from him. Good kid to cheer for too!

Did you think to throw a carolina rig? FYI... everyone not just Jim... if your not getting bit on a neko rig go to a heavier weight wacky rig for a faster fall rate and even change to a smaller profile bait to increase fall rate. Bass react to a faster fall rate especially in summer.
@bhmsupra3 ай бұрын
Rick - really buddy? What good does your post do?
@rickvann34893 ай бұрын
@bhmsupra well rookie I'll tell you what good it does. Explanation: when you struggle in practice and then catch them knowing it's not a pattern as Jim has explained you follow up in those areas with a Carolina rig and if you know what that is or how to fish it, in tough conditions it is the weapon of choice. Next Jim clues us in on the lake being clear where he was another benefit is finesse fishing which if you watched anyone they where drop shoting which is in itself a good type of slow drag aka Carolina rig or cast and fish it like you would on lake Ontario or Erie if you know how that technique works. A drop shot isn't new, just the name. So if you struggle like Jim did don't go into the next day thinking of doing the samething, yes try it but know it's a tough bite and get the slow moving or finesse rigs out the day before because that is your best bet. Don't fish history, but use its knowledge to your advantage, and now you know.

@@rickvann3489 - Naaa... you just rambling. It's always a party when a canadian "ham & egger" like yourself tries to suggest to a PRO ANGLER what he should have done. It's really hilarious.
@moynaghbassfishes38183 ай бұрын
I don't like a Carolina rig around brush piles. I get hung too much, plus a bass can grab my bait without me detecting it and already have me around limbs by the time I realize whats up.
@rickvann34893 ай бұрын
@moynaghbassfishes3818 does make it tricky, but gives you more chances to land a fish if they are biting it.

Jim, is that Neko worm made anymore? Looks like the discontinued Yamamoto Stretch 50 grub but maybe bigger diameter. Congrats on the money finish. Wish you would have made the top 10 but any money is good. On to the next one. You are a true bass fishing warrior!

1st of all, congratulations on a solid Day 1 and finish. I'm certainly not a pro fisherman and don't know your confidence baits. I always give the fish a chance to bite topwater and then either a spinnerbait or a chatterbait if I'm searching. This is probably a spinnerbait lake with the water color. Was there any shad spawning or bream spawning?
@moynaghbassfishes38183 ай бұрын
Shad/bream spawns didn't seem to be a thing.

@PistolPete3322 i cant stand it and will no longer fish tournaments or watch them on tv. I cant believe they ever allowed the tech in the first place. More disappointed in fish and wildlife management for allowing it when they've banned stuff that isn't near what ffs is. Hell currently some states are talking about banning the use of trail cams on public ground. Like wtf seriously

Great Job Jim! looks like you put a good scare into them day one! imo, Way too many boats in the opens. I think they need to cap it off at 100-125 qualifiers. I thought they paid the top 20% like all other orgs. ?? I'd bitch about that.

Mood of fish changed on day two, and instead of having baits with less displacement, one needed to go to baits with more. Why? Water level dropping, the predatory species would have wolf packed on shoals that were getting caught in the dropping shallows, channels and seams.
