2024 BEST OLED Gaming TV and Set Up | 42" LG OLED evo C3

I was originally going to go with a 55 inch Sony, then I second guessed myself and decided on a 48 inch. Then, while I was at Best Buy, I talked myself back into getting a 55 inch again. And I have to say, I don't regret it one bit. I ended up with the 2024 Sony Bravia 8. Great tv with lots of setting modes for my preferences. Owning two LG's for years, Sony made me a believer after I bought the 2022 83 inch A90J, and I've bought 2 other high end Sony's since then.

I got the C1 48" for gaming and daily PC monitor 4092 x 2160 res 120hz full RGB 10 bits . It´s a beast and really happy with it. Also got the C3 for normal use as Tv.

got it for 889€ im crazy happy! be carefull of your desk size...mine is 80cm deep and it makes it look like baby desk,i need to be at least 75cm away from it otherwise i get distortions at the corners and eye pain

I have the LG Flex 42 OLED. It's a C2 evo panel, and is absolutely fantastic. I bought it over a flat panel display specifically for use with MSFS2020. The full 900r curvature at my normal sitting distance is incredibly immersive. Having said that, I'd happily trade up if LG makes a C3 evo OLED - only make it in 48 inches.

That's basically all monitors. All I see is ghosting this ghosting that in reviews lol. Honestly, I'd get this but they only sell a 48 inch version here and it's way too big for PC use.

Question can you actually increase all the Windows OS elements (zoom) to a good extent without compromising image quality (like pixelization). In other words will the image look crappy if I do 150% zoom on this monitor?

Watching this on LG C3 42" LG IS THE KING....... My first 4K LG TV was also a stellar IPS for his time back in 2015 was a 38" 4K TV and since then I never go back to smaller monitors.....OLED IS HEAVEN SENT ! Only issue is you can't go up to 144 or 165hz refresh rate. Always you need to use a monitor for gaming.

Do you play games in hdr? and if so, is it darken your screen when it's on with gaming mode? Because on my old LG, when I have gaming mode on, I can't even play with hdr because of the low brightness.

Yes its bright enough,i think its dimmer than the 65in but still enough in my opinion. I have used it on a very bright day and i could still see everything very well.

Had 42” c3 and it was not bright enough for me. It was disappointing for gaming and monitor usage but impressive for movies. It dimms way too much for monitor and game usage. Also tinting totally killed it for monitor usage, whites are never white but reddish and greenish because it gets greenish tint when viewing from angle like all LG oled panels. Such a shame because if not for abl and tinting this would be almost a perfect screen for monitor and gaming.

Hello, I don't speak English, but I can help, I had the same problem, it's a kind of panel, whatever, some don't have so many problems, but it is actually an error that I present, at first I had the 48-inch c3 but I returned it for that problem and I changed to a c3, 42 and the problem no longer existed but the oled habeces present a kind of flickering with the vrr activated that is normal, and I suppose that your panel had banding that is normal to a certain extent period, and it is solved if you do a manual pixel cleaning.

VRR can cause flickering in the menu and in dark scenes when using the oled, thats why he keeps it off.

It’s far from being the best setup. I bought it last November before 32” OLEDs hit the market,I REGRET buying it now,quality is amazing but it’s definitely way too big for desktop use.I have a 75 CM deep desk ,but still it’s uncomfortable on the eyes even though I game with a controller and can sit further back. For desk use 32” 16:9 is the way to go.

You need to get a deeper desktop for even a 42" monitor. Technically any OLED tv is fine as a monitor. Some have built in features but you don't need them.

Remember 120hz does not give your console 120FPS in the game, if the game is at 30FPS. Harry Potter game has 30-60FPS on the lower setting for the Ps5.

It should as long as your computer supports HDMI 2.1. In this video, I was using my Macbook Pro, which I believe uses an HDMI 2.0 port. So, I'm limited when I use my Macbook, unless anyone else reading this knows something I don't?

@@LeeLechner I think the new MacBook Pro m3 pro has HDMI 2.1 which will then support 120 hz. So a pc with the HDMI 2.1 and support for 120hz should work:)

Hey Lee, seeing this video makes me think you might don't know that you can play a lot of Xbox games with mouse and keyboard when you connect those to your console. Playing CoD is so much more fun that way

Yes it is bright enough do you own one? The only time you will have issues with brightness is in a very bright room and viewing an all white screen at which point the glossy coating becomes more annoying than the brightness IMO
