The biggest bang for your buck will be to stick with the Hisense U8N models, which ever size you need. Hisense is to what Vizio was when it was first starting up in California and before it was sold out to the Chinese. Just look at what all the decent youtube channel reviewers have to say about the Hisense U8N series and the new U9N series. To spend more on other brands would not be wise.

That is an insane price for a great tv, I had one and loved it, I only returned it due to their 98" announcement and my 10' seating distance. Btw, if you find that the volume changes are too fast, there is a volume setting in the audio menu, slide that setting to the far left to slow down the volume change speed. Enjoy!

@0:18 I'd really like to know where (in the US) you are buying 77" Samsung S90D tvs for less than $2,000.00 in the first week of October of 2024? Please! Also, Remember this . . . If the port strike continues on the East Coast and the West Coast experiences a "sympathetic shut down", you can pretty much guarantee the prices of Tvs to double, maybe triple of over the next 3-6 months, assuming there will be tvs to buy in the first place. I can envision Costco stores, Best Buy Stores, Walmart Stores, ect, ect, all sold out of tv inventories for many, many months.

The U8N has more picture quality with better speakers that the U7N doesn't have.. Both are better than the LG Mini-Led Tv's that have edge led lighting. Rtings gave good splitting hairs numbers between the U8 & U7. I saw the 65" U8 N on display twice at Best Buy and it looked and both it looked super good. The U8 N 55" is on my list from now to the Black Friday sale. I wouldn't pay over a $1000. At $800 I think is the bottom sale price on it. 😊

83" S90C is so close to the C4 but $1000 cheaper so I wouldn't personally pay that premium for minor differences - S90D at 83" will be under $3000 by the end of the year. HOWEVER, 77" S90D is a better OLED technology using QD-OLED (than the 83" S90C/D) and if you're not too far, it will give you brighter images/HDR/gaming than the 77" C4. 77" S90D is so close to the G4 in performance and beats it in most ways relating to color so I'd get the S90D 77" without hesitation.

Call me crazy but I would still consider the Sony X90L (in the Mid-tier quality range) that was so popular last year and you thought was excellent if the price drops on black Friday which I expect it will. You have that Sony processing that is still best in the business even if spec wise it doesn't compete with lets say the Hisense UN8 the processing is still better and if the picture doesn't look good what do all the other specs matter?
@kommandantklink50329 күн бұрын
One other thing to compete with the other TV's price wise and value wise on Black Friday I would price the X90L as follows. 55 inch $699, 65 inch $899, 75 inch $1,399 & 85 inch $1,799. I suspect I have the models priced $100 lower than Sony might actually go?

yes but only if it's OLED - sitting close to LCD miniLED TVs for gaming shows a bit more artifacts and panel issues. For example it's better to sit 7 feet from 77" S90D than 75" QN95D. The closer you are the more important it is to get QD-OLED for gaming

Just don't understand all these reviewers always talking about off angle weakness in the 75" segment but no one ever reviews the Hisense U8K/N models. I have an U8K 75" and the ADS Pro panel is legit for off angle but obviously because it's a IPS panel. Just wish some of these top-tier reviewers would take the time and ask Hisense for a 75" model to give consumers data if they choose to go that route. Just my humble opinion

Rtings just did that and the ADS pro did not do that great…
@kommandantklink50329 күн бұрын
B the Installer talked about it in his review of the U8N. From what I have read in other reviews of the ADS Pro panel though is contrast takes a hit because it is a IPS panel as opposed to FALD panel. Do you notice any of that and if so is the improved viewing angle worth the comprise in loss of contrast? Pick your poison I guess. Too bad because I like the fact LCD TV's don't have to deal with burn in or the picture diming down. Just no perfect type of TV out there at this time.
@8BitHavoc6 күн бұрын
@@kommandantklink5032 The contrast looks great (not perfect nor the best) with what I've tested it with. The viewing angle works great for my needs from my kitchen at about 76 degrees. Black uniformity is great as well. The only time dark scenes suffer is when low bitrate content is played but that would affect all TVs at that point. So to me that viewing angle was a plus and the contrast looks great....to me. I'm with you with the burn in and dimming over time thing

I don't understand why there is no 75u8n among the 75, it seems like a great TV on ADS-pro + 2000 dimming zones
@chrisfitchette17068 күн бұрын
Cuz that ADS pro is a downgrade in reality? The lost contrast way outweighs the very minimal gain you get in viewing angle
@evur_tweak8 күн бұрын
@@chrisfitchette1706 due to the larger number of darkening zones, the gain in contrast is minimal, especially against the background of the fact that absolutely black color is almost never found in life. In the daytime, there is generally a difference in the level of error, which cannot be said about the angles. But the inability to sit close to the TV and enjoy immersion in the image without fading/loss of contrast on the sides and especially in the corners is a very big problem for VA. VA is an excellent TV in the bedroom, provided that you will watch from a long distance and strictly perpendicular. In all other cases, I would replace my VA with an ADS-pro with more blackout zones. for a 55" TV, the normal distance is 3-4m for VA, if you watch from 2 meters, then at least somehow normally, without loss of quality, you can watch strictly perpendicular, if you sit together - this is already a problem. With 1.5m, you don't even have to think. And yes, look at the graphs and not strictly at the numbers, the loss of contrast and black color in VA goes from the corners, a little more than 10 degrees, and on those numbers that are on the Rtings website, this is a value when there are already very big problems, in life these angles are noticeably smaller (up to the mark, when it starts to get annoying)
@evur_tweak7 күн бұрын
@@chrisfitchette1706 as the owner of the V A, I will say that you are very much mistaken. I won't describe it in detail (I did it yesterday, in great detail, but KZbin deleted the comment, I don't know why, it didn't seem to offend anyone. Perhaps the problem is that my native language is Russian and I write through a translator). The real angles, when there is a loss of contrast and chroma, are much smaller than those that appear in the reviews, if you are able to read the graphs, look at them. The loss of contrast / chroma in VA is already from 10 degrees, which is very small, de facto it can be viewed at best from 3m to 55", and at 1.5-2m ADS will show a better picture. And if you also like to play with the maximum "immersion effect", i.e. it's 1m for 55" - then VA Loses so much that it's not even funny. Moreover, all this is true only if you look strictly in the center, if you are watching with someone, or if you just decide to lie on the couch sideways - the situation becomes catastrophic. During the day, you will not see the difference between VA and ADS in contrast at all, under any circumstances, except for placebo. Moreover, the distortion on VA of black at an angle is very nasty, if ADS has it dark gray, then on VA it is dark blue (at least that's how I have it on a Sony TV). VA is a great TV for the bedroom, if it stands far enough away. In all other cases, I decided for myself that I would take ADS. Of course you have the right to disagree with me

a little bit of immersion but 55" from 6 feet is not bad at all - personally I'm watching 77" S95C from 6 feet LOL but that's about the limit I'd suggest. Ideally, 65" from 6 feet gets you that "movie theater" feel if you like to sit in the middle of the seating chart. How you're sitting is a little closer to the back of the theater - there's no "right answer" as this is mostly preference too!
