I love my 230i. There are hardly any situations in the real world where you would be able to drive the 240 faster than the 230.

How’s the lag? Do you have to down shift much to get the power? I had the previous gen 240i and even that had slight lag but I rarely had to downshift unless very steep hill over takes. If anything , especially in sport mode and cold starts, I would often upshift just because it would rev so high and loud it was a bit embarrassing … I think all these issue are addressed with the new 240i. I heard the new 230 can sound a bit rough and rev high in sport

You’ve got to order one from factory with only very minimum options because if already at the dealer they are over optioned and close to the price of a M240i. I wanted lumabar in both seats; heated seats and steering wheel. Of course a heads up display and garage door opener are nice too. You can get one in low to mid-$40’s. Shop certified used at the local dealers until you get that perfect one. Maybe in low $30’s if used.

@ you’re welcome. I’m trying out a new Camry for a change, a 2025 hybrid SE . It’s a nice car and looks better and drives better than I expected. I might decide to back to BMW next year for more exciting performance and features and my best choices seem to be certified used examples of the 230 or 240 or maybe 3 or 5 series sedans. I want luxury options with lumbar for both passengers and I want the $$$$ depreciation discount for certified used. So I believe I need to shop and buy in a big market to find my gem….next year!

Got a great deal on one $4100 off MSRP with the military rebate included. Love the car, great performance/daily and excellent mpg. Usually 430-460 miles per tank. It’s fun, quick, beautiful, audio is great, and a driver focused car for well under 50k. Got mine for $44,500. You can only go so fast on the street and the m240i is great but was too high priced for a car I couldn’t push on the street to see the performance.

My daughter is active military and just bought too, like literally yesterday.She got a GREAT deal since the 2025’s are out . Only thing I would change is the sunroof. I think it would look better with a pano. Thank you for your service and may you have many happy , safe travels with your new ride😊

I have a 2022 with no packages, just the M Sport and Dynamic Handling...yes, RWD and moonroof delete. So, I would wholly agree this car is best when having low content, IF you're looking for a lightweight, great-handling sport coupe. It is superior to the M240 in that regard. Sure, not as quick, but I did put 255s on each corner so the turn-in is amazing, the handling just superb. And, with some good engine tuning, plenty quick!!

Great review Anthony. That is a nice coupe and as much as I love max power that seemed to have plenty of power plus that exhaust note was so sweet! That area is perfect for your reviews and it's usually pretty empty. I had to do a bunch of errands but the area I was in was only 90 so not bad at all. I keep hearing a big heat wave is coming next week and I hope that will be the end of the crazy heat. My folks used to get new cars at least every 2 years so I did the same for so long but not now. Not having a car payment is so great! i hope that you are doing great and happy long weekend Anthony

The 2 series is awesome, it has enough power and it’s an everyday vehicle. I always enjoy this hidden area James it’s a great place to see the performance and handling all at once. The weather sounds good for the day, hopefully you guys don’t get that heat wave. My parents used to buy vehicles the same but I like the extra car payment in my pocket too lol. Today was an edit marathon 😂 so inside for most of the day and finishing up the BMw edits. Happy Friday James

The usual problem with buying a BMW is that options you might want will require buying options you don't want. E.g., if you don't want M Sport, which is too harsh for many people, you lose a lot of trim options as well. That said, the base 230i remains a delight and has the best ride (if not the best handling) of all versions. It's also the lightest, and feels that way when you drive. I went for Premium, RWD, , HK, Active cruise, and wireless charger. Paid around 45. There's a lot there for that kind of money, and you can always do your own upgrades at a later date.

​@@HawkeyeRidesif it makes you happy I guess. Either way, the ideal way to buy a 230 with M sport is via CPO or lightly used. I'm always seeing them around 36 to 39K with less than 12K miles. Easily saves you 8K min vs new.

I've had the 2024 230i xDrive with the M-Sport package in Thundernight Metallic for a little under 2 months now and love it. The power is plenty for what I was looking for, although I might think about a JB4 in 4 years when it is out of warranty.

@@inikkor61 nope, first I'd go with the Dinan Sport Tuner over the JB+ as the settings are massively easier to change. Second I'd want more than just an uncontrolled boost.

I bought my ‘24 230i xdrive for $43,600, 2k off MSRP. Black Sapphire with Canberra Beige interior. Very few options. I did not spec it. Averaging 28.3 mpg. 70% hwy driving. Would I love a 240i? Yes, but not for 13-17K more!
