people be like "slow af" - dude I'm weak... it's a 520i, that 0-100 was in the mid 7's, that's definitely not slow, it's quicker than a lot of normal cars and trucks on the market, and it's more than fast enough for a daily driver. It's just not a sports car.

@@whipsss but dude like it's a base-model bmw sedan, NOT a sports car. The FRS on the other hand is a sports car (and not the fastest one at that, for sure). I really fail to comprehend why you guys think any normal sedan should have performances rivaling actual sports cars. The 520i fills its market and hits its target audience just fine. People who buy a 520i are not interested in high performance and sporty stuff, they just want a luxury sedan that looks good, offers a comfortable ride and has a lot of amenities. Lots of BMW owners are also after the status symbol. For people who want a high-performance sedan, there's stuff like the M550i and the M5... Next thing you know you'll be complaining about the new corolla and the new civic not doing 5's...

And to think that the transmission was in the sport map. The 5er began going downhill after the F10 ended. The G30 improved in some ways, but it also went backwards in other ways. It was still a proper Bmw though, this 520i is a shitbox by 5 series standards. It might have improved in some ways, but overall i don’t think it’s better. Such a disappointment, i hope the 540i is better

It's simply because the ECU knows the revs in next gear. It shows it faster than the engine can declarate

@@bielmelichartes2167 G30 exterior design is great, not arguing that at all. The body is quite similar to the F10. Interior design of the G30 is better and worse in some ways (design is subjective in the end), the build quality and the quality itself was a step down was my main point. If you think the G30 interior is objectively better than the F10 interior, you either haven’t spent any meaningful time in either or you aren’t well versed with Bmw’s. Not saying that it is bad by any means, but it’s easy to see the cost cutting when you drive both. I can post a video comparing both in similar spec if you would like to see.

@@bielmelichartes2167 I can certainly make it when i’m back home, i’m an otr trucker so i’m on the road quite a lot. I will say, the G30 is “better” in some ways and “worse” in other ways. I don’t think it’s as simple as just better or worse. I remember when i’ve only had an F10 and wanted a G30, i ended up test driving a G30 540i xDrive and M550i pre-Lci and was left disappointed. I drove my Lci 535i xDrive home surprised at how the F10 didn’t feel like a downgrade. The hydraulic power steering in the F10 definitely felt better and so did the communication of the car itself. I drove a rwd 540i and it definitely felt better than the xDrive 540i and M550i so that’s what i went with. I plan on reupholstering the interior to my liking and i think swapping some parts like the M-sport diff, control arms, sway bars, springs, etc to make it better. Downpipe and tune (400-420whp) definitely helped alot with power, but stock was already pretty good
