It is a good looking vehicle and the extra hp makes this vehicle. The drive is good but the pricing is so close to an x3/x4 m40i that it pushes me to them only because they are better in that department. I like the inside and out styling better on this one though. Thanks James happy Friday 👍

According to the dozens of other independent reviews, the new X2 M35i hardly "falls short" in any major aspect, given that it's just about the lowest cost European "performance" car available. But if your critical comment is that the base version should offer more, especially in the interior, I might agree, which is why I "ordered" an M35i last December with every available package and option, just like my X3 M40i had. It's a real deal at just over $60K. Why the BMW allocators send only partially configured vehicles to the dealers makes it near impossible for anyone who wants a full boat to ever see one in person. I haven't and I ordered my totally on faith.

It’s a good vehicle but if you watched the drive part you will see it is not near the x3 m40i in driving dynamics. It’s a great vehicle but the x3 m40i is better. Congrats they are nice vehicles 👍

Yup, no doubt you're right, and I hope that I'm not disappointed. I think that I might need to drive an M35i one of these days before mine arrives and not simply depend on the reaction of enthusiastic reviewers on KZbin. In the worst case, I'll just lose my deposit. However... I've driven performance-oriented cars all my life, from "hopped-up" Ford flathead V8s in the late 1950s, to muscle cars in the 60s and 70s, to Corvettes and BMWs more recently. Motorcycles, airplanes, and boats, too. But now that we're in our 80s, my wife and I decided to avoid a cushy Caddy-like car and continue to have some fun with a smaller, "lighter M" BMW. We shall see. Thanks again for the review and the advice. You're never too old to still get some kicks on the road. Some.

Over priced when fully kitted, locally for me, its then the same price as an Audi RSQ3 or Porsche Macan S.

Acoustic Glass is suppose to alleviate the outside noise, yet you still a lot of the external noise with the tested model?

You have to remember this has larger wheels with a sport suspension and it’s a box on wheels.

I'm not really an SUV fan, but I make exceptions where warranted (like for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio for example). This is the first BMW SUV I've made an exception for; I mostly prefer Audi for German SUVs. I really like the chunky looks of this, the aggressive rear with quad tips, etc. If you will pay $52K for a the M235i Gran Coupe, $53K for this with far more utility is kind of a no-brainer.

I’m confused with the X4 and X2 M35i. Looking for a coupe style, I saw this X2 M35 this year at Chicago Auto Show. Now it’s a hard decision because I really liked the M35i Styling.

In the area where I live you won‘t find empty streets, so for an average driver it‘s has more performance which I will hardly ever be able to use, unfortunatly. But I#m öooking for the road trips we have planned when my car arrives
