I'm definitely with you, Jeff, on taking negative things too personally. Recently at work, I got myself tangled in some corporative plays and was told by my supervisor that I'm doing a bad job (mostly by absences caused by newly discovered illness and hospitalization) and that one conversation/situation stuck with me even though everyone in my team is telling me how good job I am doing or how I am one of the best people (at my position) they worked with. You are making great content with Jamie. I'm watching your videos whenever I can, and it is always a pleasure to spend time with them. You are great; don't change, and good luck in the New Year!

I love the resolutions to block the mean-spirited comments and to film more playthroughs of the games you love playing (solo or multi-player). As for the people giving corrections to missed rules, if it's done in a nice way, I think it gets the word out so that everyone learns the rule. (Chances are, if you guys missed something, many other people have as well.) Having said that, I know that it can be hard to feel critiqued all the time. Anyway, best of luck to you and the channel in 2024!

I love how you guys always have many different goals and I like that you honestly go through your previous ones. This year my main goal is to limit buying of games and expansions including crowdfunding, to 24 or less. I think it will be hard but it’s so easy to just grab games when a good sale comes around without truly putting the thought into what it adds to your collection and if it’s necessary. As much as collecting all the games is a dream, it’s not realistic and it overwhelms my partner since he’s typically the one who learns and teaches the games.

I love that Jamie showed your angle of the studio. It's really a great reminder (although that wasn't her intent) to your followers of all of the time, effort, knowledge and equipment you need to have to do this. You are putting out a quality product every time and there's so much time, talent and money that goes with that - you aren't just propping up a cell phone and going "hi!". I've been in the hobby for awhile, but always stuck to two of the big powerhouse channels and I'm expanding my horizons on that and really trying to be more intentional with my gaming as a whole. I found you when I was doing a deep dive into learning about Button Shy games (I was way late to the party on them) and now you have skyrocketed to my favorite channel for all board games and board gamey things. :) I have told my husband multiple times that I think we would be friends in real life - your banter, pop culture references, reactions to one another's gameplays, love for take that type moves, and spontaneously busting out song lyrics and keeping them going is exactly what our lives are like. I'm not one to comment often on anything, but with your mention of all the jerks out there, I just want you to know there are many more of us who see the value and all the effort you put in. My two points-first, thank you for your communication! I'd like to think any comment I've made has been either positive or neutral (ie. praise vs just asking a question), but I always appreciate your replies and engagement. And I've noticed recently a healthy uptick in snark, especially in the "Best of..." videos reminding people that this content is your opinion, which I absolutely support! And second, as a fellow LOTR and Star Wars fan... it took me until last year to play Star Wars: Rebellion, and I just got a copy of War of the Ring, so I'm right there with you! Haven't tabled Ring yet, or the expansion for Rebellion (I hear it adds some extra nuance to combat?) but would love to try and tackle both in 2024. You two are the absolute best. Hey guys! My wife and I really enjoy your channel! As a small note, the new mics do sound worse. They're less natural and more compressed sounding than your previous audio setup. But I could see the mobility of the mics being easier to get in and out of filming, plus lav mics can hide audio issues with the room, so you may not need so much room treatment with them. There are always tradeoffs.

I love what you've achieved so far. It's not an easy task to play so many games while trying to upgrade your tech and your studio. My New Year's wish for you is that you ENJOY your gaming experience. Hi, Love the term, ‘long term lurker’. That’s me to a tee. I’ve never commented, but have been loving your content for a while and wanted to show my gratitude for your hard work and dedication. I don’t know how you stay so positive, being exposed to the negativity some humans bring to the party. I only do KZbin now, as the rest of social media is just too toxic. I have a quote that helps me out with this sort of thing. Randomly, it’s from an Anglo Irish philosopher called Edmund Burke and is about 250 years old. It helps to know that it’s not a new problem, it’s just that people have far easier access to spread their negativity. The quote is as follows - Because half a dozen grasshoppers under a fern make the field ring with their importunate chink. Whilst thousands of great cattle, reposed beneath the shadow of the British oak, chew the cud and are silent. Pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field. You guys are awesome and I hope you don’t let the grasshoppers put you off.

Hey! I think you misinterpreted what we are referencing. We do “spoof” recommendation video where we say, recommend Gloomhaven as a “game to play on a plane”. And sometimes people miss the joke. To your point though, I would say, I don’t think most creators are in the business of trying to “lie” to their audience. There seems to be a growing narrative in this space that “positive reviews” are just a scam, and “negative reviews are the only true honest reviews out there”. And it’s being perpetuated by some creators and it’s really very unfortunate. I cannot speak on behalf of any other creator but ourselves, when I implore you to understand, this is unequivocally false. If we do not like a game, we in all cases will inform the publisher and either send it back, or deny coverage. We do not want to waste our time, or our viewers time, with this type of negative review. Also, most games are objectively good. Certainly X game WE might think is poor, and deny it coverage, but that doesn’t make it a bad game, it just makes it a game that isn’t for us.

Here are my gaming resolutions and 2023 results: Play at least 10 games that haven't hit the table in at least a year: 12 Shrink my Shelf of Opportunity down to 25: 27 (I got 7 unplayed games to the table) * My 2024 goal is shrink it down to 15 unplayed games. I don't think I'll ever hit 0 as I have several campaign and legacy games. Play at least 10 new games: 25 (includes friends' new games) Get at least as many playthroughs as I have games in my collection (153): 75 unique games with 202 game playthroughs Also noteworthy is doing my first gaming purge with 25 games leaving my collection. Love your content!

Happy New Year! 1) I hope I can participate in the 24 hr Marathon this year! I know I'm not top prio, but you know I would be down. I only got to pop in for like an hour last year. 2) Fully support Jeff trying more Solo and PUTTING DOWN HIS PHONE 😇gotta say, as a Marvel Champs enjoyer and video game addict - putting my phone down and just playing a full match solo with no technology is so fun and good for the brain. 3) send those hater comments into the aether! 4) They're an investment but lots of creators swear by the Elgato Key Lights and they would solve your space issue. (too rich for my blood but they are the real deal)
