We need this in Australia - NOW! Whether it's a true Tesla MY rival I don't know. BYD certainly do make some compelling vehicles and I already own a BYD Atto 3 and I'm very happy with that. A truly remarkable car. However, it is difficult to argue that Tesla make the class leading car. I had a MY which was destroyed in October in an accident. There were so many features in the MY that I liked so much. Tesla software is better than BYD hands down. Likely BYD will get better I'm sure but Tesla is just the best - think Apple and Android. Apple is by far the most polished product and so is Tesla software. I'm sure that the BYD Song will have great suspension which the Tesla MY was the biggest let down. Far too stiff in my opinion. The internal size of a MY is also impressive and I wonder if the Song L can compete. Both are wonderful vehicles and of course both are EVs so we should be supportive of both brands. For my new ride, at this point, I'm happy to wait for the Juniper MY due out next year. Maybe the Song L will be in Australia then for me to compare.
