Love both the CT4 and CT5 Blacking. The CT5 Blackwing manual actually outperformed an M5 CS on the same track. Im an M car fanboy and own an E92 M3 but I would take the current Blackwings over their BMW and AMG counterparts.

The nascar race car has nothing in common with the street Camaro. Not the shape, engine, body or anything. The race car is a spec chassis with a Chevy engine.

@SpeedPhenom I currently own a 17 GT350. I definitely get that the BW doesn’t have that Voodoo character (not much out there that does), but I’m considering selling the GT350 and getting a CT4V BW to replace it. Since you’ve driven both, what are your thoughts on a comparison between them? You touched on it with the transmission but how is the overall experience?

I’ve had both. Plus a few 911s. The BW is far more agile and light on its wheels than the 350. I’ve had the BW up to 145 and the 350 to about the same. Both have Tremec. I’d say the BW has the edge on handling and the 350 sounds better, the BW has far better interior, fit and finish.

When you did 0-60 was it no lift shift?

I'm not sure if this transmission has a no-lift feature (many do nowadays). I ended up lifting on throttle during the speedshifts.

All the CT4 V Blackwings with a manual have no lift technology. Wide open throttle above 5k rpm and it's active.

I have had one for less than a month .Love it Had to get the 10 speed auto due to my wife will use it 1/3 of time it shifts quickly in Vee mode / manual shift mode with the paddles but you cannot bang shifts like a dual clutch PDK or Graziano transmission like in my Porsche Turbo as or in my McLaren Solid like the 2022 Turbo S . Heavy car but the 472 HP 451 lb ft of torque and quick shifting is not bad The magnetic shocks are the best. Steering terrific and adjustable Exhaust pops and burbles like a turbo car with down pipes and an ECU tune Has a real back seat and a large trunk so pretty practical Am learning more each time I put it in VEE MODE and stand on the gas in the canyon where I live Puts a smile on my my face for sure Lots of track focused engineering in this package which is an evolution of exhaustive development of previous models chassis on racetracks The owners manual has pages of camber setting , track brake info if you plan on tracking it Cool aero engineering under the car with owners manual instructions of how to make adjustments for increased airflow to brakes and etc Lot of car for the money . If you hit the Tour mode button ride steering shifting is all smooth and nice. Quite a contrast with VEE Mode Comes with P 4 S Michelins which are decent on a track This tire is the first replacement choice tof McLaren owners in the US and has been for years

I visited GMs 3D printing center. They printed the shifter for these Cadillacs. It was cheaper than tooling up

@@GeronimoBiggles They aren’t a job shop. There are quite a few job shops out there. You don’t need Chrome Moly for a medallion. They also print extra thick door handles for police departments. The officer snap them off when they get all amped up.

I would say I was shifting very conservatively. You can shift more often, but, there is a lot of downlow torque which can propel you pretty well in low RPM.

Such an embarrassing corporate committee designed mess. That interior is embarrassing...though I have to give them props for using so many real buttons. The dash is a ridiculous mess. And those fake exhaust farts?? Cringe beyond belief. Sure, it has nice looking seats and the manual gearbox is a huge plus, but can't GM get its act together and just get some good, competent engineer-background and proper car guy leaders to design these cars without a committee?

Have you driven one? It is amazing for the money. Great performance- daily driver - and tons of advantages over similar cars. The stuff you don’t like is opinion based, which is fine. But the performance and driving is key.
